Always love detatching videos, just done my lawn for the first time, but scary how brown it now is as was in a mess but can’t wait to watch the recovery
Hi Robbie, Just wanted to say thanks for the videos, especially the dethatching one here as it has helped me understand what i can do to my lawn here to improve it. Thanks for the stepped guides you give and wish there was a lot more tradesmen with the professionalism you have down this side of the country! Cheers, greetings from county Meath.
Hi Robbie, great stuff mate, been watching for a while and been loving the golf course series! Any chance on a video for the average homeowner on depth of scarification and the selection of wire or solid scarifying units? Alot of units within a home owners budget have both and there isn't a lot of guidance out there! I know what I do but would love your input! Craig

Hello robbie, do you know the eliet 600 compactor scarifier ? You don’t waste time collecting thatch and don’t need a blower. Think it’s interesting for professionals like you or big garden owners like me.
Really enjoying these videos Robbie. Now the weather has cooled a bit I was thinking of scarifying my lawn. Do you think its too late in the year? Should I wait until September?
Hi Robbie I do love your videos.i am new to the game and I was wondering what moss killer you use because if I put moss killer on after scarily it leaves black patches.am I doing something wrong Thanks Keith
I just moved house, see moss patches out the back so done the weed feed and moss killer and will rake out the big black clumps of dead moss to see what grass is left. Do you have set dates in mind for the autumn scarification, as I want to do mine say a week into the period so I can get new seed down
Hi Robbie, lawn really needs a good scarifying, I've put weed killer down and it's doing a good job, can I scarify with the dead weeds in the lawn? Or do they need removing first? Loving the channel 👍

Hey Robbie. Great video as usual! I had a new lawn seeded 3 weeks so still a while before it will be ready for the first cut. For rear roller mowers I was just wondering if you had any recommendations? I was thinking about the MOUNTFIELD SP425R as it has a Honda engine and fits in my budget of 500. Also what treatments would you recommend in the first season of the new lawn. I was thinking about the seaweed that I asked you about in a previous video and maybe something else as well. I’m led to believe I have to be careful I’m the first season with what I apply to new grass.
Anything with a Honda engine gets my vote. The seaweed will definitely help the lawn. Fertiliser - don't use anything with weed control in it. A good autumn fertiliser is good for new lawns.
Hi Robbie, there's been nothing but hot relentless sunny days and my garden has taken a beating. I water it every evening just trying to save it. My question is, is there a good time to cut the grass/overseed/topdress? I cut it just as the sunny days started and it hasn't seemed to have recovered. Any feedback would be massively appreciated mate
High I scarified about a month back and took a crazy amount of moss out. I over seeded at the back off it and aerated. The grass is slow in recovering with alot of bear patches and the new seed isnt growing. Ang advice ? Thanks
And, that beautiful relaxed collie of yours ❤️

I find once the fertiliser kicks in you don't notice the black patches
Hi Robbie, you recommend a maintenance scarification annually. But what would you say to aeration? How often and what time of the year? Thanks

Great question. Aeration is often overlooked and should be part of a yearly maintenance program

Once a year is fine for most lawns.
Best times to do it is spring or autumn when the grass is actively growing
What do you do with all the Thatch you rake up?
At the moment it all stays with the client as all the dumps are closed...
Jonna bit fun
Robbie will you stop showing off with that scarifier. Today I have just completed my 8th scarification with a rake 300sq meters.

300m with a rake is some going. Fair play to you.

We put it onto the compost heap
