These little videos take me back 40 years to being a little girl in rural Pennsylvania, walking through our woods with my father as he pointed out birds , plants, or signs of animals. It's very nice. Thank you.

I absolutely loved this video! It had all my favourites, trees, flowers, birds, rocks, and shore line. Loved the cliff fall. I would be in heaven looking around the rocks. May late Daddy taught me a lot about nature. I got my love of nature from him. He also told me : "When you go walking in nature, the only thing you should leave behind are your footprints," I live by that. Thank you so much for this video. 😊💖🇨🇦
Delightful, thanks! Your coast, the sea and shore plants, looks very similar to here in the islands of NW Washington, USA. I enjoyed your walk and listening to your lilt and the birdsong came through fabulously.

Thank you so much. I am an old codger but your little nature walk reminded me of the fantastic times we had at our little school high in the pennines back in the 50's. Amazing how many of the plants you showed us are the same. We had a teacher who loved to teach us about nature. - You and me both. I really needed this today. Its the first morning walk Ive been able to have in near 7 weeks and its really blown the stresses of the past few weeks away. I'm glad you could join me. :)
Our neighbour in her 70's gave us a tub of shooting bulbs to plant that she'd pulled from her garden. We ended up in the next year with 2 big iris plants and a shed load of those snow bell things. Turns out it's illegal to cultivate them in the UK as it's an invasive species. Pulled them out and having a taste (after finding out what they were) it was a very pleasant suprise, all of the plant tastes like a mild garlic crossed with spring onion with a peppery kick. Very nice tasting forage, especially if you have as many as you do down there. Thank you for the upload.
That was wonderful, I recognised a lot of plants from my childhood, it’s a lovely time of year and I think definitely a great time of day. More like this please, your local area is beautiful. 👍
- Thank you Kerry. I do love getting out at this time of day. If I can manage to explore any other areas I will. We are restricted to how far we can go and how long we are allowed out for. But I will do what I can. :D
Lovely little bay bet there are a few fishy's that come in there. We often call the cow parsnip, cow parsley here . A friend put that in his mouth once that did not end well, turns out he was allergic to it his brother strimmined it years later that put him in hospital covered in blisters.
- It is very bitter stuff to be eaten raw. I've seen people have reactions to stuff like that. One lad was cutting a conifer hedge with a strimmer and didn't realise he was allergic to it. He got hospitalised. That little mark is a fine spot to fish. I will be returning with the rods when we are allowed - I haven't fished it in years. Take care mate. I hear you lads are ok for going out in the boat now?
I only remember the day I was crossing a side shoot off the river tees on a fallen tree and fell off onto the bank right into a nettle patch in shorts and tshirt and not being able to find any damn doc leaves, arms and legs drove me mental on the way home....
I could watch 100 videos like this! So relaxing. So calming. Thank you. And thank Hannah for taking care of all at home so you could come out early to make this video! Thank you.
- We are just trying to share what we love doing. I know a lot of people aren't able to enjoy the open air or the sounds of the birds - and people could really use a bit of destress tight now. So we try and share what we can. Take care Ian and have a nice weekend. :)
Nice one John and yes what a lovely morning made a nice change from fishing 🎣 even though it did look 👀 perfect to put a hook in the water 💦.Stay safe look forward to the next one
Not jealous at all... :-) What an amazing place to go for a wander. That opening scene was straight out of my "heaven dream' Congratulations on yet another wonderful and informative video.
- I thought you might enjoy this one mate. ;) It was almost painful that I didn't have the rods with me. But still a truly enjoyable walk, certainly blew the stresses of the past few weeks away. :)
I probably have walked hundreds of paths similar to this but I never knew what I was looking at, now I have names to things, I will either bore or impress the kids to death, thanks. The light there is amazing too, glad your home safe with the family, all the best from Wales
Blimey, Jeff from Peep Show, you've come along way since JLB But seriously though, awesome channel. Cornwall is my favourite place in England, if people haven't been to the swimming pool built into the cliff at Porthtowan, I recommend!
The Fish Locker I don’t see the resemblance lol you’re definitely much more handsome and I’m sure your wife is well aware, your little one is just as adorable as his parents 🙂 amazing video and stay safe!
ah man this reminds me of walking round in the old feilds no one uses and making forts in the ditches, but i know whjat im doing tomorrow morning hahah, but ill bring my rod, missed a nice bass couple days ago D:
@@TheFishLocker aye thank ya lad, if i get a few ill be sure to send a few pics, generally the evening flood is the best where i live though so maybe the mornings are just for walks
I'm so happy to see you are back home with your wife and fish locker Jr. I absolutely love all of your videos especially this one. Looking forward to Future videos and finds.
jossy - I am glad you enjoyed our video Jossy. I hope you find the rest of our content good viewing. If you have any questions just leave us a comment and I’ll get back to you. 😊👍🏻
This will probably get buried but I've recently stumbled across your channel and binge watched hours of your videos, you are a great teacher and give a great insight into coastal ecology and sustainable harvesting practices. As an environmental consultant born and bred in Cornwall with a strong fishing background, you're a breath of fresh air to watch! Hope you're having a good time scavenging in Falmouth, you've earned yourself a sub!
- Thank you very much and welcome to our channel. We are simply sharing what we know and love doing. I truly hope that our videos may encourage others to take and interest in the natural world and how better to care for it. :)

A Link - Haha. I haven’t heard it called that in year. Yes I’ve had a slight trim. Far more streamlined now. 😉 Much happier to have us all under one roof again. 😊👍🏻
Another enjoyable video bit of escapism. And great that you are back at home. Always found it strange that foxglove is used to treat heart failure and yet causes death by heart failure.

Thanks John for a lovely relaxing video..perfect! Lovely to hear the wren and learn about Alexanders.. Just what we needed. Glad your home safe mate. All the best..
Thank you for taking us with you on this botanical walk. Very much enjoyed... the trails and flora. God Speed you can get home soon with your precious family. Glad we can keep you company in the meantime.
Hello again Whitby lad. Nice to see you out and about. Hope the missus, and especially that little lad are both safe and well. Hopefully we will not be too long before we can fish again. You can walk down there, bassing and I can walk to the Brig for a codling or two. Good early signs for boating here too. I look forward to seeing you landing a fish soon. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for your videos, very relaxing and so interesting. Really glad I found your channel, especially in these times. Please keep up the good work, and the foraging + beach cook ups especially ;), very much appreciated!!!
Well glad to see your home safe and well and hope all the family are too??To be honest John can tell just by your smile home is where the heart is cause family makes us complete sort of like a missing jigsaw piece when wer not there if you know what I’m getting at.Such a beautiful walk and a bundle of information as always your such a true gentleman pal keep me mesmerised ever time I watch so thanks John for getting us all through this👍🏻Give my best to the family atb from Scotland

I know that look John when you make it to the beach and mentioned about the lures and the rod, I can see it in your eyes "Why I didn't took the lure rod and few lures". Fantastic session again. Stay safe, you and your family.
What a truly fantastic walk! Thank you for sharing your local area and your extensive knowledge. Beautiful scenery & sounds--I could almost smell the beach.

My friend, you have a real quality to your presentation style, me and many others genuinely appreciate what you do. Anybody the fails to agree that first light in Spring is without doubt the most wonderful time of day is simply not able to appreciate what nature offers.

fantastic video man, and you’re 100% right about seaweed. there’s no known seaweeds that are even mildly toxic. the problem is that there’s other types of algae that are highly toxic so it’s still pretty dangerous for novices to eat anything that looks like seaweed

@@TheFishLocker Yes from tomorrow during the 2 hrs daily exercise but obviously if infection goes up again they will fully lock down again
Trojs Fishing - 2 hours out on the boat max? Ah well you might get a few pots out. Let’s hope the infection rate stays low.
@@TheFishLocker That's 2hrs for recreational fishing not boats with a licence they have always been allowed out
Very nice walk; thanks from a cold Sweden ❤️🙋🏼
Anki Olebring - It is our pleasure. Take care and stay safe. 😊
You’re so blessed to live in such a beautiful area. That’s like my dream. I bet the water is COLD, though!
Lisa G - Haha. I didn’t dip a toe but I bet it is. 😆
The Fish Locker are you still on quarantine, or have you reunited with your family?
Lisa G - We are all back under one roof now. So I am a very happy man. 😊👍🏻
Great video! Thanks for sharing! Glad your home safely!
Lawanda White - Thank you Lawanda. Yes I am very glad to be home safe. 😊
The doc leaf was an essential part of my survival when i was a kid.
dougsmcv - Haha. Mine to. 😆
LoL...me too, many a time
I only remember the day I was crossing a side shoot off the river tees on a fallen tree and fell off onto the bank right into a nettle patch in shorts and tshirt and not being able to find any damn doc leaves, arms and legs drove me mental on the way home....
I could watch 100 videos like this! So relaxing. So calming. Thank you. And thank Hannah for taking care of all at home so you could come out early to make this video! Thank you.
Thank you Maria, I am glad that you enjoyed the video. Best wishes and have a lively evening. 😊
Our beautiful Cornwall! :-)

Marvellous stuff John.
Robin Bradley - I’m glad you enjoyed it Robin. Take care and enjoy your evening. 😊
Loved the walk my mate. Your a star in this Lockdown.......
Andrew Mclauchlin - Yes Andrew it would have been a perfect morning for fishing. Hopefully soon.
Not jealous at all... :-)
What an amazing place to go for a wander.
Thanks for taking us along on your walk! Blessings!
Teresa McGuire - It is our pleasure Teresa. 😊
I probably have walked hundreds of paths similar to this but I never knew what I was looking at, now I have names to things, I will either bore or impress the kids to death, thanks. The light there is amazing too, glad your home safe with the family, all the best from Wales
- Haha. If they are anything like our teenage daughter, you will be the most uncool parent ever and sooo boring. ;)
😃😃
Living in Cornwall myself and being a chef its a great video to watch thank you.
ross coad - It is our pleasure. 😊👍🏻
Blimey, Jeff from Peep Show, you've come along way since JLB
But seriously though, awesome channel. Cornwall is my favourite place in England, if people haven't been to the swimming pool built into the cliff at Porthtowan, I recommend!
- That is honestly the first time anyone has compared me to him. I even had to google who it was. lol. Take care Ed. :D
The Fish Locker I don’t see the resemblance lol you’re definitely much more handsome and I’m sure your wife is well aware, your little one is just as adorable as his parents 🙂 amazing video and stay safe!
Another great video well done.

I went for my run past that beach at that time, I think I missed ya

Mommie Minnesota - We will see how it goes. If I can do it safely and within my allowed time then yes. 😊👍🏻
I thought “wild edibles” meant something else😂
I ate your kind of wild edible this morning 😉
VorboteDesKrieg - I don't know what that means.... and I'm afraid to ask.
- You sir, have a rude mind. :P
@@TheFishLocker unless I'm mistaken, the _wild edibles_ being referred to are of the cannabis variety.
Kowboy USA - Fair enough. Well that would be why I didn’t get the reference. 😉
Thanks for taking us on your morning stroll. I enjoyed it!

My friend, you have a real quality to your presentation style, me and many others genuinely appreciate what you do. Anybody the fails to agree that first light in Spring is without doubt the most wonderful time of day is simply not able to appreciate what nature offers.
- I have said a few times to folks that if I have to explain whats so special about it, you wouldn't get it anyway.
The wife and I both really enjoyed this bit of early morning with John! The edible plant stuff is great! Keep it up! Much love from Tulsa, Oklahoma!

Spectacular walk. Thanks for taking us along

fantastic video man, and you’re 100% right about seaweed. there’s no known seaweeds that are even mildly toxic. the problem is that there’s other types of algae that are highly toxic so it’s still pretty dangerous for novices to eat anything that looks like seaweed
Chuck Finn - Thank you for the fact check Chuck and the added info is very helpful to anyone reading the comments. Thank you. 😊👍🏻🌿 if one doubt, don’t eat it. 😉
