Thanks. I recently transitioned to homemade and am considering combining homemade with the dehydrated food make sure meals are nutritionally balanced. 😊

@@K9ofMine I’ve been feeding them Honest Kitchen dehydrated dog food plus home cooked ground lean meat added to it, for a while now. Both dogs are doing great. The GI issues of our older dog seemed to have disappeared and both their coats are incredibly soft and shiney. 😊👌

I’ve just started feeding my picky eater and sensitive stomach Goldendoodle the chicken recipe and she absolutely loves it! I always wanted to feed my dog fresh food but found the raw and ready made options just way to far out of my budget. This is a win-win finally!

Thanks. Nice and informative. I just wanted to see how good this dog good is for my four padded son. He absolutely loved eating whatever our cat left behind in hers, so we figured getting him his own. I tried even for a little while making my own dog food with lean beef, salmon, fish oil, walnut oil, kale, brown and wild rice, sweet potatoes, and carrots but then someone said something about a balance of micro and macro nutrients. Also that mix had a questionable shelf life, where the dehydrated food I didn't need to worry about. It is going to cost us about $100 a month with one cup a day for is 20 lbs requirement. It is better than Katharine Heigl's jerky food (get ⅓ of a bag for $40) although it looked good and our dog ate it fast. Right now he has the Turkey dehydrated food with the Scottie on the box.

I bought the grain-free one and should have added less water to it, yours looked right like the right amount. The whole grain version does look a better, and don't understand the whole debate over grain and grain-free food for dogs. The Honest Kitchen does have more options on the whole grain side, I am considering switching my dog to that. Do you feed your dog that only or a combination of The Honest Kitchen kibbles as well?

We just did that dehydrated at that time, but have since switched back to kibble. I feel that grain-free only makes sense for dogs with grain allergy or intolerances - grain inclusive is definitely fine (and probably preferred) for most dogs!

I use honest kitchen kibble. But I live in Hawaii in when it gets delivered. It seems there are 3 or 4 cups of powdered kibble at the bottom of the bag, sometimes even more.. So you're telling me I should make pourage out of that. I have been looking at making some kind of biscuits..

Really? My dog loves it! It’s like porridge or oatmeal consistency

My dog doesn’t like too watery either, I add the powder on home cooked meal. If my home cooked stew is wet this powder helps.

The feeding guide says to add less or more water based on your pet’s preference. It can be like oatmeal instead of soup.
