    Aloha 🌺
Waves are in a World of their very own...Lol~~~
I live in the P.Rim & have painted waves a zillion different ways.
50+ years later & still finding new techniques ~~~
Its a very deep subject 🌊
Suddenly they can change with clouds & wind.
Take lots of photos for studio studying. Mahalo = Blessings

Greetings from across the Pacific. I totally agree, waves are a very deep subject indeed! Constantly different - a new challenge to paint every time.

I followed your tutorial and came out with a painting that wasn't half-bad...after many many attempts at painting waves. Thank you so much!!

I am so glad to know you are happy with the results Laura. I still find the waves being very hard to paint... Glad this video has helped you. Thank you for watching!

I am mesmerized by your wet-in-wet technique for these ocean waves! I just started painting two years ago and my waves still look not so good. You have given me some great ideas, and I hope one day I can paint ocean waves that look half this good.😊

Thank you for your kind words Linda! These waves were fun to paint but also a challenge. I find it hard to capture the energy of the movement of water, but with every attempt I learn something new. I am sure your waves will look amazing eventually!

I'm new to watercolours (previously in acrylics) and still learning. Your flow and confident strokes are great to watch and your use of white space is excellent! I'm going to try crashing wave forms (wet on wet) now and attempt to emulate your flow and hopefully integrate it with my previous experience. Thank you! This a great exercise to watch a very talented artist create a beautiful wave scene.

Thank you for watching for sharing your thoughts - I really appreciate your kind words about my art, and I am glad that my videos are helpful on your watercolour journey. Watercolours are so different from acrylics, and are so much fun. Hope you enjoyed painting the waves!

This is absolutely beautiful. I think your are great at painting waves that first wash of dark blue for the back wave was so wonderful in its movement ❤

Thank you so much Sarah! I loved painting this one. I wish there was more of the feeling of movement in the waves, but I am pretty happy with the colours and the atmosphere. Thank you again for watching

Thank you so much Fatima! I mostly paint from imagination but sometimes I use photos if I want to recreate a particular landscape scene.

I like your style. But when I think about waves in the ocean there is more "movement". I miss this in your painting. But I love, that you don't use gouache, exept for some sprinkles.
