Remember to disconnect any USB cable from the phone before doing this. With a cable connected you do not get the same menu options.

So, if someone steals my phone, uses this knowledge to reset it and my phone is gone for good! I have to lock it a suitcase then! :)

To be honest, I have never seen a phone coming back to its owner again. So if it's gone, it's gone :D

Shaan Haider But I've heard about some phones recovered by the owner being able to track it's position, snaps a photo of the thief while trying to unlock it. That's not possible while resetting it is so easy.

Yeah, there are few apps to perform such actions but seems those thieves were amateur because mostly the first thing they do after stealing a phone is to switch it off, throw away the SIM and reset the device... But I still hope always that if someone steal our phones, we get them back :)
