Hey, great review! I’m looking to buy this projector but my distance is 4.60 meters from lens to the wall. All retailers say that the minimum width is 3 meters on this distance but I need 2.50 meters. Can I achieve this with the digital zoom in the settings? You mentioned the zoom but I’d need the numbers.. regards

Hi - Great question, I’ll be honest cannot remember want the minimum throw distance was. However the manual did give distance settings/table chart.
      www.viewsonicglobal.com/public/products_download/user_guide/projector/X1-4K/X1-4K_X2-4K_UG_ENG.pdf?pass
So to clarify- Your distance is 4.6m from the lens to the wall (that’s heaps of distance to play with)
But you need the image to be around 2.5m wide?
I ran the X1 at 3.8m from the screen and the screen width was 2.2m

Thanks for your reply! Yeah so I remeasured just to make sure and the distance from lens to screen is 4.20 meters while the screen width is limited to 2.50 meters because of my furniture.
The user manual doesn’t really help since it also only gives you the numbers for the optical zoom not including the digital zoom. It just says that it goes from 0.8x to 2.0x
I actually think I should be fine considering the distance and screen width you ran it at but I’d like to know 100 percent.

It does look really good! Did you meassure the noise levels?

I do have a db meter, however I did not find the fan noise or the projector very loud. So didn’t feel the need to measure. Plus it had a silent mode, if I remember correctly

@@concordhifi Fair enough - I might order one today, since it's on a discount. Thanks again for the detailed review.

@@concordhifi I can’t decide between this one and the Epson TW7000.
What would you recommend? I will be watching movies 80% of the time, in my home cinema room, which has an Elitescreen aeon 100” on matt black wall.
I want to mount the projector as high on the ceiling as possible.
The projector will be just about 3 meters away from the screen

@@picodkhifi hi, going to be honest with you. I haven’t seen the Epson in action - so I can not give you a comparison.
I’ve seen Optoma, Benq, Sony, ViewSonic, Nec and Toshiba projectors.

@@picodkhifi I have an Epson EH-TW7100, and the Viewsonic X1-4K is far superior in terms of image sharpness. Color rendition and contrast are fairly comparable, but the X1-4K is much noisier than the Epson in Eco mode, and is also less bright. In Eco mode, the X1-4K is still noisier, but much more bearable.

Viewsonic is similar to the BenQ. I saw other reviews saying they are the best gaming- movie projectors

For price the ViewSonic X1 did awesome job. I was enjoying playing the PS5 on the ViewSonic.
