After hearing this for the first time I couldn't really listen to any other version.
I used to sing this to my first born son. He was murdered 7/23 and I still sing it to him during my healing process. I just don’t understand how people can think they have the right to take your baby from you. He was my baby, he meant the world to me and now I’m broken without my beautiful boy.😢 My heart is so broken 😞 I don’t know 🤷♀️ if I can survive this, the pain I feel is in my heart and in my soul. But the only thing that gives me comfort is this song that we shared, and knowing that I will see my beautiful boy again.

I'm 33 now and with the way hip hop has changed it just really makes this album pure gold. The 90's era was the best decade of music because it had the best variety of music from every genre and everybody still looked naturally beautiful. As a young black girl I memorized this entire album and the way she told her story through her music is why I will never stop listening to it.

Few singers in this genre make me feel so happy as Lauryn Hill. I love how she crafts and contours notes. It's sexy, it's powerful, it's intelligent. Yes. Above all, her music and covers are very VERY intellignet. I hear her music and it's like the sun coming out, burning the rain off the city streets, filling the air with that smell you can only get from sunshine after a thundershower.
