How do you guys feel about "Fake Friends" from Citizen Soldier?
Well it’s very interesting especially I can relate to it so much because I had a fake friend and they are my favorite bands and the made a song with another of my favorite band
I'm totally obsessed with every single one of their songs 😆 and I absolutely love seeing your reaction videos for their songs.
The one thing I wish is I had them around as a teen as I dealt with SH, SI, Inpatient several times. I actually found them 3 years ago while I was in the Hospital because my Ex Fiance tried to kill me and "Stronger Than My Storm" came on and ever since then I'm hooked. There isn't a single song of theirs I haven't played on repeat a million times over 🤣

I liked the song even though it’s different when it comes to music and some parts were repetitive like them repeating “I think I trust too much” too much. The last 7 songs on Icuras “Let Down, Feels Like A Funeral, Good Old Days, Live Again, Burden, Save Me From My Angels, Hospital Bed” will be unique and more like Citizen Soldier’s style. Also, could you reacted to “Be Somebody” by Thousand Foot Krutch? They did a version of that song with CS singing with them and it be cool to see you react to it.
To answer your question regarding New Medicine, they are a band that released 2 albums in 2010 and 2014 before going on hiatus, then came back at the tail end of 2019 releasing various singles and a handful of collabs with Adelitas Way since 2020. And coincidentally, the vocalist of New Medicine is also named Jake and his last name Scherer also starts with the letter S.

This is defo a New Medicine song. I had heard other songs by New Medicine before, I wondered what they would do cos NM and CS have quite different energies. As soon as that first intro bit started I was like "this is a New Medicine song", even with Jake singing. Which I'm not mad about cos some of the collabs have disappointed as they felt like they suited CS a lot more than the feature. I probs won't relisten to this one much though.
Honestly. Of all the features they've done I would like to hear more with New Medicine; hopefully this opens the door for an Adelitas Way collab too since New Medicine have done a handful of collabs with Adelitas Way. Maybe even all 3 bands on the same song?

I admit i miss scarecrow and ICU CS with the sick riffs, but they're still very good (except rock bottom i dont like that one for some reason) BUT There's one song on Icarus called "Save me from my angels" and it got me HYPED, and i think its gonna be on the heavier side like "Everybody hates you" or "Dead-End Life"

Supernatural was a show I used to watch! “In My Time Of Dying” is my most favorite episode ever! I have it memorized so well.
The new Citizen Soldier song really wasn’t for me either. Even though I listened to it a couple of times, it didn’t surprise me that much like the other new previous songs did such as “Where Were You” & “Dead-End Life”.
All in all, the new CS song with another feature wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t my cup of tea.

Ngl, the features have mostly felt ok. The album songs have felt pretty strong for the most part though. Letdown is gonna be hype when it drops, they let us hear it at the live show. I also think its still a bit of oversaturation causing some songs not to hit quite as hard.
Honestly, the Halocene, Icon For Hire, and SkyDxddy collabs felt more like an obligation of "hey we're going on tour with you so we should do a song together" instead of doing collabs with singers whose voice compliments Jake's. Perfect example of a collab that would work would be Citizen Soldier & Adelitas Way, especially since New Medicine have done a handful of collabs with Adelitas Way already so that may open up a door even to a three-way collab.

Better Place could be interpreted that way, but I can totally see how you couldnt too.
"Chasing Your Ghost" can be interpreted as a father having already committed suicide, although the main premise was a father abandoning his children and going off to live his own carefree life - the abandonment can also be related to the suicide as well

I thought the song was good and enjoyed it, but this is why I watch reactions to music. See what others think of it and try to see it from there point of view. I had a very similar take on the song. The theme resonates but as a song it just isn’t that good. I just kept waiting for some moment that would really hit and it just never came. Probably the first song from this batch (album and collabs) that I outright just don’t like.
Honestly I feel like Citizen Soldier need to be a little more selective with their collab songs. It’s nice to see them work with other artists but they’ve been doing so many collabs lately and the results have been really mixed in my opinion. Nothing necessarily against the other artists or Citizen Soldier working with them but it feels like some of the songs needed more time in the oven. Quality over quantity and all that.

Song is WAY too repetitive, there's nothing in the song that jumps out at me, like a cool moment.
I think CS needs to take some time to write songs that people will actually remember and love, not songs to just throw out there for people to relate to.
