The Canon 50mm f1.4 FD and Sony A7II was really fun to carry around and shoot with. What is your favorite vintage lens/camera combination?

I am a pure amateur who loves taking pictures living in South Korea. I felt it after watching your video.
You are truly the greatest photographer of this century.
You have imprinted the true colors, light and focus in our hearts and memories. Thank you.

Thank you for the comment. That sounds like a great FD set and I'm glad you find them useful for cinema cameras as well.
I don't have experience with all those FD focal lengths but the few that I have used all produce great results.

Great review! What adapter did you use to convert from Canon to the A7ii mount?

Thank you for the kind words! I use many different adapters, I am not really brand loyal. For the images in this review I used the K&F Concept. It worked great.

Great video! This is one lens I've been thinking of getting for a while now. They go for about 100 bucks over here though.

Thank you for the comment! These lenses are definitely getting more pricey all the time. Hope you find a good one at a reasonable price.

The Aperture priority mode is OK with this lens + adapter ? Or all are manual ? Thanks!

Thank you for the question! You can do all manual shutter and aperture, or aperture priority with the Sony A7II. I use both depending on what I'm shooting.
The camera does not see what aperture you're using since there are no electronics in the lens, it uses the amount of light and adjusts the shutter speed accordingly.

Thanks for the video Marshall, really enjoyed it. I'm an A7ii owner myself and would like to find a nice vintage lens like this. Where did you find yours for only $29? Thanks and take care! -Charley

Charley thank you for the comments and watching the videos. I finally found mine on Etsy of all places. I scoured all the usual places like Ebay and such, and finally just did a good old Google search. I looked for a long time though before I found it. I've also seen garage/estate sales be a good place to find these vintage lenses. Patience is needed to hold out for the good stuff though.

@@marshalljvanderhoofphoto thanks so much, sounds like patience is key. I haven't used Etsy before but will check that out! Best regards.

@@Al_Prazolam Patience is definitely key. I would also say, be ready, know the prices of the lenses you are looking for, so you know a good price/quality when you find it. Usually if you don't get it then, it is gone later.
