I have also traveled many times without reservation but with a window ticket whenever there was an emergency but i make sure to pay the difference amount as a fine. It there's any seat provided by TTE then its ok.

This is a serious issue. I once out of kindness let 2 men sit on my seat and I woke up to one of them lying on the seat and I felt so uncomfortable because obviously the seats are not made for 2 to sleep.
He was sleeping only in the lower half but my feet were totally pushed and I woke up due to discomfort and this happened 3 times that night

I was travelling once by Duranto from New delhi to Patna in 2AC. Many students forcibly entered in coach at Kanpur & remained till Patna. Even after twetting & raising complaint at helpline, Nothing happened. Police & TTE took money Rs 100 each from them. And allowed them to travel. Railway is full of corrupt employees & corrupt policemans

Similar incident happened with my parents 1 month back while travelling from Delhi(both senior citizens). The other person had lower berth and my parents has middle and upper. He wants to sleep at 11am( not being sick). When they refused to go up, he started using cuss words for them. Finally the TTE had to come and threaten him to be fined.
First of all you are caught lying senior citizen always get lower birth no matter what happens so shut up
11am or 11pm, it’s his seat, if he wants to sleep he should be able to sleep. But of course it’s wrong of him to abuse your parents. It’s a crazy world out there huh.

The video isn't whole. TT comes in the end and someone also calls RPF officer. In the end the woman is forced to leave. Infact the RPF officer even refuses to listen to her, telling her that it happens all the time and he knows who is at fault.
When i was in train 2 ladies their seat was not confirmed still travelled in ac and sat in my seat fully occupied i was not able to sleep that night and oñe of the lady's husband was sleeping peacefully in other seat but they does not want to disturb him i was like ok old people we are young we neèd to adjust but they took so much advantage

During farmers protest my seat was occupied by a group of sikh people who I think didn't book tickets. I shared my seat with 4 to 5 people the whole over night journey from Delhi to Punjab but unlike this video those guys were not disrespectful towards me and we talked during the journey about different topics. I really wanted to lie down and sleep but I had to adjust and sleep while sitting in awkward position with my head supported by my bag. I didn't ask them to leave my seat because they were protesters coming back from delhi and I somehow felt like letting them share my seat as a gesture and support for their hard work. Also I am from the North east with a very different face from them and didn't want to be rude to them as I felt I was representing other people from the same region as me and thought it was just a 7-8 hrs journey after which I can rest all I want and they can also rest in my seat at least for the duration of the journey. But I discourage taking others reserved seats because I might have had a bad tiring day and I paid for the seats and if it weren't for the farmers protest I would have asked them to leave my seat.

AND...to reply to your "logistically impractical" argument (which in first place shouldnt even be debated *because* it is the systems responsibilty to come up with solutions which they are paid for, and not for us to be satisfied with *yaar kuch nhi ho sakta*) : almost every TTE (barring intercity and EMUs) is now equipped with a tablet for his work. Therefore It is quite possible to make an arrangement where atleast each AC passenger has TTEs temporary contact no. on his RMN. (Just exactly like you call your flipkart/amazon delivery man on a wierd number). Again, it can be improvised, can be messahe system instead of call, and can be on >1 day journeys. Point being that it is quite easy to show that yes, actions are possible by system and we are not wrong to pressurize them.

Last month a TTE in Kerala was thrown out by a migrant worker who was traveling without ticket. Poor TTE got killed by another train after getting both legs amputed and head smashed. 😢.. Indian laws do not exist in Indian trains. Even if country get bullet trains the mentality of mass won't change. Ugly false pride and entitlement and lack of morality.
Even in Vande Bharat, the doors open only at the station and that too only when the train is stopped, so Bullet train is expected to be better equipped

Reservations are really a joke in Indian Railway, I once booked seat in sleeper class, and to my suprise, I wasn't allowed to lay or even sit properly on my payed seat! Group of people who didn't even payed for their tickets occupied my seat.
Since my station was close, I didn't filed a complaint for it but I can feel the rage from this video. Imagine you came back from a long exhausting journey, hoping to straight you back on your reserved seats only to find an annoying, rude lady occupying your seat and even refuging to cooperate with you!

It is very very rare to happen / mostly never happen in South India. I had real bad experience travelling to UP back in 2013 in a reserved ticket, Not AC Though. it was just like a General compartment. People there given a Damn about any reservation unless it is AC Compartment. Very surprising.

Both the other passenger as well this lady is at fault. This lady doesn't want to give up the seat and the passenger who says it's his seat says it doesn't concern him and she should look for tte. It's a small issue that was simply blown up, the passenger could have just called the tte himself, verified the ticket and asked the authorities to help him vacate the occupier, as authority will have the right to take action. But, what does he do, shove a camera in this women's face and try to argue with her for internet likes, was she cursing no, all she was doing was being hardheaded, but other passengers grouped on her and she went into flight or fight response and she chose to fight as she believed that giving way to peer pressure is not acceptable to her. There should be proper procedure, and not threaten someone with potential job canceling with the absurd cancel culture that's rampant nowadays, who are we to judge what punishment she deserves. And why does anyone with a camera nowadays expect that just because they hold a camera and ask questions, that all their questions must and should be answered.

A sales person or a government employee makes trip for peripheral areas and for us train is the most convenient transportation
And earlier it was not a problem as a train had 3-5 gen compartment 8-12 sleeper coaches (having more vacant space) and max 6 AC
But now the things have changed 10-12 AC and 6 (gen. + Sleeping) and we are still used to this means of transportation

I had come across the same situation last year...A lady who appeared to be a repeated offender came to sit on my reserved seat n then started saying that I am from Railways only...She was lying obviously... The TTE was an accomplice here n both of them knew each other well..He supported her..I also complained online to Railway authorities but by the time they registered my complaint, my destination was reached n I had to get down...The lady omg was such a shameless female n I heard her talking to somebody over phone saying " अरे वही हो गया जो हर बार हो जाता है सीट को लेकर " I was furious...
Such people should be banned from travelling in trains for at least 1 year.
She oozes such negativity. My God! she needs help
Kudos to the lady who didn't leave the seat which was not hers to begin with.
She knows our justice system will support her for being a woman at any cost!
There should be an intercom in every coach to report such incidents to the RPF and get help.
These people will blame mental health but actually she has attitude and entitlement. Then these people will play victim card.
Look at the audacity with which she speaks. Did railways take action against her ?
Reminded me of ladies at many other governmental jobs. They carry lots of arrogance and ego.
Many people from UP-Bihar travelling for a short distance (2-4 hours) don't make reservations. They just come and sit on your seat and if you tell them to move they start arguing with you. Usually, their destination also comes by the time the TTE come to check the tickets. If the TTE comes early, then they hide in the toilet and return when the TTE goes. They've figured out how to travel for free.

Some thing we need to correct within ourselves,
Sometimes indian people should learn basic human ethics , manner, punctuality......!!!

This happened to me too in Patiala where a couple sat on me and my fathers seat and refused to leave our seats.. even though when i told them thousand times that its our and when i had sever backpain still the couple refused to leave our seat until their station came.
Can't we sue the railway department for falsely charging me amount for the reservation and not providing me the seat that I paid for and lack of intervention from the railway staff.
Same thing happened with me in Bangalore train 😢😢 TT takes money and allot our seats to some one. Luckily I was traveling with my family and the person who took the ticket was male and the female were there with me so I got the seat.
Here people are supporting the right thing but there people were supporting that person ,might be I am from north and that person was of local south. People were saying why are you coming at 11:00pm we are sleeping please go. I was shocked 😮😮
Traveling in Indian Railways is a nightmare esp if you are alone. The security,tte and staff are all useless. I've experienced something similar, if you ask staff to do something about it, they'll ask you to talk to tte. The tte in question is not found anywhere near coaches. These things happen all the time in railways yet no strict action is taken. Just pray to God before boarding the train for a safe journey.
