Indian Railways have to bring a system for checking the tickets before boarding the train. Be it manual or automated, whatever it may be. Just like boarding an airplane or a bus, it has to be introduced in railways too. It has to be like, you're allowed to board the train only if you have the ticket of reservation. This kind of system restricts any person who boards the train without ticket. Improving our trains is not the only development in the whole ministry. Our government needs to introduce these kind of system too.

I have also traveled many times without reservation but with a window ticket whenever there was an emergency but i make sure to pay the difference amount as a fine. It there's any seat provided by TTE then its ok.
She is an Indian railway staff, who have pass issued by Railway, but she has no right to sit on reserved seats.Usually TTE provides seats which are not occupied for short distances in AC compartment.She is doing wrong here by occupying reserved seats.
The only thing that gives me a bit of comfort is that so many people supported the man who was right. I've seen way too many instances where people support the person who's committing the crime. Glad to see this wasn't such a case.
TTE is responsible for such incidents. He should be suspended & dismissed at once. I was travelling once by Duranto from New delhi to Patna in 2AC. Many students forcibly entered in coach at Kanpur & remained till Patna. Even after twetting & raising complaint at helpline, Nothing happened. Police & TTE took money Rs 100 each from them. And allowed them to travel. Railway is full of corrupt employees & corrupt policemans
for 2AC price from delhi to patna may be similar for flight nowadays. for delhi to mumbai flight is cheaper than 2AC, I just checked yesterday. this nonsense can be averted if we pick flight more often. I am not saying this to ignore and let the problem grow, but to reduce our own hassles. as you yourself said, police and tte will take 100 from them.

This kind of thing happened with me too.I was coming back from my home to Mumbai.My seat was reserved. A guy came and told me that can i shift to another seat because he had his family where my seat was. So i decided to once go and check people around his berth. There were only men and I felt a little awkward so i denied to leave my seat. Next morning some of his family members came and forcefully sat on my berth. They were so rude as if it was their seat. At the beginning i politely requested them to move but they didn't listen. Then i increased my voice a little and they moved in a second. Those people were so mean and tbh stupid.
But Shurpnakha was a princess of very rich state, she could purchased whole city if she wanted. But this cheap lady is fighting over a seat worth Rs400-700 😃
That ₹250 fine along with the ticket price is very low, that's why these people have the courage to take reserved seats. Fines should be at least for times the ticket prices along with ticket price.
If this was in the US, she would have been doxed by now. Subsequently affecting her work situation as well. Wonder if she faced any consequences for this barbaric display. Does the Indian Railways have something similar to a 'no-fly' list for unruly passengers?
I experienced something similar to this as well. I boarded my train at approximately 12:00 PM in 3AC Coach, accompanied by my wife, mother, and one-year-old daughter. Two young girls, who were almost 25 years old, were lying on the lower berths. I was allotted two middle berth and one upper berth. They did not let us sit, they immediately began to argue that they would keep lying on the seat. My family and I were utterly defenseless. I found TTE and asked him to switch my berth and fortunately, I was moved to a different coach. These days, women behave Lamentable conduct. IRCTC / Indian Railways shall look into the matter of seat allocation.
I know it's not possible for everyone to know rules but as citizen I request you to go through railway rule regards seat .You have right to seat on lower berth during day time you can check timings on website when the middle seat to be used for sleeping

I once out of kindness let 2 men sit on my seat and I woke up to one of them lying on the seat and I felt so uncomfortable because obviously the seats are not made for 2 to sleep. He was sleeping only in the lower half but my feet were totally pushed and I woke up due to discomfort and this happened 3 times that night

This has happened to us many times in the past. People refuse to leave the reserved seats and start arguing, especially ladies. Railways should come with stringent rules to end this menace. We pay an hefty price to reserve the seats and later need to face this situation. Let circulate this video to the maximum on social media and shame this shameless lady. Being a woman myself its really sad to see some women take advantage of "women card" like this.
My household help had gone to his village, he is a very meak and gentle individual. On his way back he found someone sitting on his seat and he did the entire journey standing as he is not confrontational at all. When he arrived back his legs were swollen. Luckily parents are doctors so we managed to provide him the proper treatment at home and made sure he was eating properly. He is now absolutely fit but that just angered me, he threw away the ticket else we would have made a formal complaint with all requisite proofs and demanded atleast a refund for the poor chap.
Those people who have mental illness are not mentally ill by there choice insanity and sanity is not something u decide for yourself. Similar incident happened with my parents 1 month back while travelling from Delhi(both senior citizens). The other person had lower berth and my parents has middle and upper. He wants to sleep at 11am( not being sick). When they refused to go up, he started using cuss words for them. Finally the TTE had to come and threaten him to be fined.
11am or 11pm, it’s his seat, if he wants to sleep he should be able to sleep. But of course it’s wrong of him to abuse your parents. It’s a crazy world out there huh.
Almost same incident happened with me , when a 24 hours tiring journey to delhi , when i changed my train, two ladies were sitting on my reserved side lower seat, when i asked them that it is my seat, they started requesting me to go somewhere else and wait for tte to come, i asked them that i have travelled for so long and now i want to rest but they didn't listened and instead showed me an empty seat which belonged to someone else and asked me to sit there, i knew if i leave my seat now, then they will not go anywhere, so i sat with them only and waited for the tte for 2 hours and as it was 10 pm in the night everybody else were sleeping , so i was not able to gather enough courage to fight the ladies. But hats off to people here that they are able to stand for the truth
Oh these type of ladies incidents are increasing in trains. I was traveling by Ltt to Vishakapatnam train on last Thursday 18th of July 2024 in S4 a similar incident happened, one elderly couple got in the train with a valid reserved ticket time was 16:30 hrs a young lady was occupying their seats by lying on the lower berth that person requested that lady to getup and allow us to sit instead of obliging she didn't move also said "aap ko kya karlena hai karlo" that person called on 139 help line that lady also called on the railway help line within minutes TT with two RPF came and scolded the person with a valid ticket . . . .that arrogant lady started crying trying to convince the TT that she is innocent !!!! Instead of settling the issue the TT behaved like her servant because her father spoke to the TT on her mobile . . . . . . The TT shifted the arrogant lady to AC coach because her father was a big shot. I leave to you all to give your comments or views on the irresponsible behavior of the railway TT on duty 🙏

When i was in train 2 ladies their seat was not confirmed still travelled in ac and sat in my seat fully occupied i was not able to sleep that night and oñe of the lady's husband was sleeping peacefully in other seat but they does not want to disturb him i was like ok old people we are young we neèd to adjust but they took so much advantage

The same thing happened with me while I was going from Delhi to Patna in 3rd AC. People boarded and invaded my berth, 4-5 people captured my seat. I was asking them to vacate my seat but they became very aggressive. I called the railway and put on Twitter also but no action was taken. 😢

This happened to me too in Patiala where a couple sat on me and my fathers seat and refused to leave our seats.. even though when i told them thousand times that its our and when i had sever backpain still the couple refused to leave our seat until their station came.
During farmers protest my seat was occupied by a group of sikh people who I think didn't book tickets. I shared my seat with 4 to 5 people the whole over night journey from Delhi to Punjab but unlike this video those guys were not disrespectful towards me and we talked during the journey about different topics. I really wanted to lie down and sleep but I had to adjust and sleep while sitting in awkward position with my head supported by my bag. I didn't ask them to leave my seat because they were protesters coming back from delhi and I somehow felt like letting them share my seat as a gesture and support for their hard work. Also I am from the North east with a very different face from them and didn't want to be rude to them as I felt I was representing other people from the same region as me and thought it was just a 7-8 hrs journey after which I can rest all I want and they can also rest in my seat at least for the duration of the journey. But I discourage taking others reserved seats because I might have had a bad tiring day and I paid for the seats and if it weren't for the farmers protest I would have asked them to leave my seat.

AND...to reply to your "logistically impractical" argument (which in first place shouldnt even be debated *because* it is the systems responsibilty to come up with solutions which they are paid for, and not for us to be satisfied with *yaar kuch nhi ho sakta*) : almost every TTE (barring intercity and EMUs) is now equipped with a tablet for his work. Therefore It is quite possible to make an arrangement where atleast each AC passenger has TTEs temporary contact no. on his RMN. (Just exactly like you call your flipkart/amazon delivery man on a wierd number). Again, it can be improvised, can be messahe system instead of call, and can be on >1 day journeys. Point being that it is quite easy to show that yes, actions are possible by system and we are not wrong to pressurize them.

I have also traveled many times without reservation but with a window ticket whenever there was an emergency but i make sure to pay the difference amount as a fine. It there's any seat provided by TTE then its ok.

This kind of thing happened with me too.I was coming back from my home to Mumbai.My seat was reserved. A guy came and told me that can i shift to another seat because he had his family where my seat was. So i decided to once go and check people around his berth.
There were only men and I felt a little awkward so i denied to leave my seat.
Next morning some of his family members came and forcefully sat on my berth.
They were so rude as if it was their seat.
At the beginning i politely requested them to move but they didn't listen.
Then i increased my voice a little and they moved in a second.
Those people were so mean and tbh stupid.
That men seriously he's good in his words and character. He argued till end of video and not used any offensive words. I appreciate his patience.

I boarded my train at approximately 12:00 PM in 3AC Coach, accompanied by my wife, mother, and one-year-old daughter.
Two young girls, who were almost 25 years old, were lying on the lower berths. I was allotted two middle berth and one upper berth. They did not let us sit, they immediately began to argue that they would keep lying on the seat. My family and I were utterly defenseless. I found TTE and asked him to switch my berth and fortunately, I was moved to a different coach. These days, women behave Lamentable conduct. IRCTC / Indian Railways shall look into the matter of seat allocation.

My household help had gone to his village, he is a very meak and gentle individual. On his way back he found someone sitting on his seat and he did the entire journey standing as he is not confrontational at all. When he arrived back his legs were swollen. Luckily parents are doctors so we managed to provide him the proper treatment at home and made sure he was eating properly. He is now absolutely fit but that just angered me, he threw away the ticket else we would have made a formal complaint with all requisite proofs and demanded atleast a refund for the poor chap.

Similar incident happened with my parents 1 month back while travelling from Delhi(both senior citizens). The other person had lower berth and my parents has middle and upper. He wants to sleep at 11am( not being sick). When they refused to go up, he started using cuss words for them. Finally the TTE had to come and threaten him to be fined.

Almost same incident happened with me , when a 24 hours tiring journey to delhi , when i changed my train, two ladies were sitting on my reserved side lower seat, when i asked them that it is my seat, they started requesting me to go somewhere else and wait for tte to come, i asked them that i have travelled for so long and now i want to rest but they didn't listened and instead showed me an empty seat which belonged to someone else and asked me to sit there, i knew if i leave my seat now, then they will not go anywhere, so i sat with them only and waited for the tte for 2 hours and as it was 10 pm in the night everybody else were sleeping , so i was not able to gather enough courage to fight the ladies. I was traveling by Ltt to Vishakapatnam train on last Thursday 18th of July 2024 in S4 a similar incident happened, one elderly couple got in the train with a valid reserved ticket time was 16:30 hrs a young lady was occupying their seats by lying on the lower berth that person requested that lady to getup and allow us to sit instead of obliging she didn't move also said "aap ko kya karlena hai karlo" that person called on 139 help line that lady also called on the railway help line within minutes TT with two RPF came and scolded the person with a valid ticket . . . .that arrogant lady started crying trying to convince the TT that she is innocent !!!! Instead of settling the issue the TT behaved like her servant because her father spoke to the TT on her mobile . . . . . . The TT shifted the arrogant lady to AC coach because her father was a big shot.

This happened to me too in Patiala where a couple sat on me and my fathers seat and refused to leave our seats.. even though when i told them thousand times that its our and when i had sever backpain still the couple refused to leave our seat until their station came.
During farmers protest my seat was occupied by a group of sikh people who I think didn't book tickets. I shared my seat with 4 to 5 people the whole over night journey from Delhi to Punjab but unlike this video those guys were not disrespectful towards me and we talked during the journey about different topics. I really wanted to lie down and sleep but I had to adjust and sleep while sitting in awkward position with my head supported by my bag. I didn't ask them to leave my seat because they were protesters coming back from delhi and I somehow felt like letting them share my seat as a gesture and support for their hard work. Also I am from the North east with a very different face from them and didn't want to be rude to them as I felt I was representing other people from the same region as me and thought it was just a 7-8 hrs journey after which I can rest all I want and they can also rest in my seat at least for the duration of the journey. But I discourage taking others reserved seats because I might have had a bad tiring day and I paid for the seats and if it weren't for the farmers protest I would have asked them to leave my seat.

Therefore It is quite possible to make an arrangement where atleast each AC passenger has TTEs temporary contact no. on his RMN. (Just exactly like you call your flipkart/amazon delivery man on a wierd number). Again, it can be improvised, can be messahe system instead of call, and can be on >1 day journeys. Point being that it is quite easy to show that yes, actions are possible by system and we are not wrong to pressurize them.
