Yes, there are many things wrong with the uniforms, equipment, etc., etc. The comment by "new tab", "This film was written by a 5 year old. And cost 85 cents to make. 25 cents over budget"... was it really necessary to get that nasty? If you want to submit helpful criticisms , that's great, but really, guys, is it necessary to trash him?
Yes, it was necessary to trash him. This "film" was so bad, I had to skip through it in huge junks just to see what the ending was. It was very, very badly done. And if nobody says that, how is the maker of this mess going to improve? It was indeed correct for 5-year olds. Flatly awful. There are some good "shorts" from certain other makers of similar material, this maker needs to watch those to get insights.

Yes I think its pretty unrealistic. The American just studip imo. And in realuty probably everybody had shot him by his second attack, regardless on which side they are. Its just not safe to trust a guy who wanted to attack you multiple times.
There were many 'Oops!' encounters in the war. Two soldiers, one German, one US, meet in the woods. They see each other, but for whatever reason neither one opens fire. They wave, then go about their business. People get tired, suffer exhaustion...can't be on kill-mode all the time, dig? Besides, most of the time one soldier is by himself is when looking for a place to poop!

He sits in a clearing and even takes off his helmet leaving himself even more vulnerable but the acting especially of the guy playing the german soldier was excellent.
They must have had a really small budget when making this short film but it's alright. The uniforms are a little shitty but the guns are good and correct.
For any of you wondering, No, the flag patch on the American is not the wrong way, in WW2 they didn’t have the flags like they do now, such as in Band of Brothers, when they wore the flag patches, they were “reversed”, they didn’t have the flag regulations like we do now
Reading through the comments i was disappointed a little to see people focussing on petty details rather than the sentiment of the film itself. To the average viewer such things would pass largely unnoticed, but to anyone watching its the story of a German Soldier and an allied paratrooper and their brief encounter on the battlefield, no doubt about it. Hardcore history buffs and re-enactment fans would spot it but it doesn't detract from the overall message of what is after all, a short low budget, amateur production. I think it rocked. A smashing yarn with a priceless message. And no doubt the next one from this crew will be more polished in the details for having gained the experience. Keep it up guys awesome work!!!!

My last name is Rauch. My grandfather and great uncle fought in Europe during WW2. My grandfather was shot in the shoulder. My great uncle was killed by Germans in france. Two generations prior, my family lived in Germany. So ironic. We named my youngest son after my Great uncle.
Constructive criticism is good, and while we know he can't speak the best German, he's American. That's pretty impressive for such an attempt at it. Sure the uniforms weren't exactly put together well, but that's one hell of an attempt to gather things in this that come fairly close to historically accurate. Note that I didn't say it was perfect, but it was decent enough to make for a movie. You can't really complain when they at least tried, but it's obvious some things could be adjusted to improve it.
