    So cool to see all that you have done with your H3!! I have the same rig with adventure package but not luxury. Long story short I bought it for 8k w 200k unknowingly with a almost burnt exhaust valve. I burnt it through towing the small car I used to go buy it! 2000ft elev climb. Oops!! I bought a 5.3 to swap but the company that built the harness no longer builds them. So I backed out the 4 busted head bolts (local shop tried to take the head off) in 5 mins. Left hand drill bit!! And 31/64 punch!! Replaced the valves and almost have it back together!! Kind of a pita as I didn't dismantle it myself.. it has 315s on it now with leveled bars! So cool looking! Anxious to get it on the road and trails!! A realtor used it to show ski cabins in Alta Utah etc. still had the dvd headsets in their original wrapping.. very clean 👌

      I'm not a professional mechanic so it's taken me 3 trys for every step I think. Like I mounted the intake before I stabbed the motor. which was stupid I admit!! then realized I had all kinds of stuff under the intake.. so I took intake off and stabbed it and mounted starter and misc sensor plugs etc . 4 grounds I think Then put the intake on.. pretty sure I got all the intake bolts in.. I hope!
      So far I've used most of the bolts left in a bucket that seemed to fit in the right spot!!
      Just need to bolt up exhaust and everything on the left side then start with the front end radiator etc.. pretty sure I have all the electrical plugs tied in to the right spot.. they didn't even mark them.. but likely gm helped the guys on the production floor and used different plug ins for each location!!

      Here's some crazy I5 facts.. you can't remove the timing chain cover without removing the oil pan because the oil pump fits over the crankshaft and the pick up line is in the oil pan. So you have to drop the diff to access the oil pan and timing chain cover.. In short you have to pull the engine to access the timing chain and oil pump. Which you should change anyway with a major job!!

      @edsgarage001  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@itsdirtycivilian2U
      Oh, pretty simple actually.
      H3's are known for their radiators leaking coolant into the transmission cooler portion of the radiator. The ATF and coolant mix and end up looking like strawberry milkshake.
      This destroys the transmission.
      So to avoid that fate, you install a separate transmission cooler, and cut out the factory cooler altogether.

      I'd start by not buying a 2006 if you can help it.
      The 3.5 in the 06 is troublesome and it's the lowest powered h3 ever.
      The 2007 has the more reliable, slightly more powerful 3.7.
      Then in the last couple model years, there's the option of a V8 in the alphas.... Those are by far the best bet.
      First thing to do, is level it... Crank the torsion bars to level the ride. Google how, as there's a specific height you want to go to.
      2nd thing has got to be the headlights. Stock headlights are terrible.
      3rd, kind of depend on what you're using it for. If you're off roading with it, then get some 35" tires
