Guys, this is just a warning. This dude took it in the 2020 year, where a lot of students didn't even cover the 2 most difficult topics (in my opinion) of infinite series and polar/parametric/vector equations. Just let that sink in because in BC, those are probably the hardest topics that play a pretty strong role in the exam. Just be sure to account for those 2 units (which in my opinion are really difficult compared to rest of the class) so the way his preparation went would be definitely far more different from what an in-person exam would be like for most people. We not only have more questions, but also more difficult and more complex equations in both the MCQ and FRQ. Just let that be known please and don't think you can self study a literal calculus II class in 5 days time, it doesn't just work like that.

Not sure if it’s just my school, but BC is soooo much harder. I’m not even saying AB is easy but no class has caused me as much emotional anguish as BC calc. Our teacher forced us to rush through the material so much we finished the entire class in the first two marking periods and have been doing nothing but review tests since. These tests aren’t too bad, but when we were learning new things it was HELL. 2nd marking period of this year was the first time I got a C in any of my classes in high school and I’m a senior. What also sucks is we’re technically only supposed to have class 3/5 days in the schedule, but our teacher went over new material even on blended days, and if you had another class those days you just had to rewatch the recorded class for notes but you couldn’t ask questions or anything. @@sophbird8215 I never took AP calc in high school but I know that AB is the equivalent of taking calc 1 with the integration unit from calc 2, and BC is the equivalent of calc 1 and all of calc 2, so BC is definitely supposed to be harder since you’re learning almost twice the amount of information at a faster pace than AB. I finished AP calc ab, but an online school here in Vancouver is offering AP calc BC, and y’all already know imma do Sigel’s signature 5 day challenge. You’ve inspired so many people bro 🙏🏻
I used to be in an IEP where I took a couple of Special Ed classes (in math and English). Algebra 1 was seperated into multiple parts in different school years, and I was taking a 2nd portion of algebra alongside with basically eighth grade English my sophomore year. I felt a lot of things and suffered a lot of depression because of it as I felt like an outcast in my school. I spoke with my counselor about wanting to get out of these classes, and I luckily got placed in regular classes for English and math (normal algebra 1 & freshman English sophomore year). I took an English course in the summer so that I could be at the same English level as my grade, and I was able to take the corresponding English class as a junior. This year, I went for AP Literature, and it has honestly been not bad! I am in algebra 2 right now, and I decided to sign up for the BC exam this February with all the research I did. I am going in without any precalculus background, and my class is pretty much done with algebra, and we are at the home stretch of the trig material. I am studying ahead of my class. I know it sounds stupid for my circumstances, but this is something I really want to accomplish for myself knowing where I started in my freshman year. I plan to use this video just to only learn the material, and then give myself at least a month to master everything. I'll give updates! This video has given me more confidence :), so thank you!
I watched this when I was taking ab and studied really hard... and got a 3. Lol. Then I took bc and really found out what studying method worked for me. I got a 5!
I did a similar thing with algebra 2/trig, but I wasn’t healthy about it. Although I got reasonable sleep, I wasn’t spending time with family or friends, exercising, eating well, or doing much of anything else. That’s how I spent my winter break, and although I was also able to learn calculus in a similar way and take multivariable calculus the following school year, I sometimes wish I had more healthy learning habits. But I truly believe that you don’t have to be naturally gifted to learn things independently. Setting up a good plan and “studying smart” is the key, and creating a balance between learning and being social/relaxing is just as important (so you don’t get burnt out).
I love how watching AP World videos has flooded my reccomendations with AP videos that aside, dang great job! I'll be using some of these tips for my own studying
You haven’t ever took AP classes and studied for 5 days only and GOT A 5 😱? Man U r inspiration I was worried about self studying for ap but I got the motivation from ya 🥳🤩
Incredible video, I will be applying this to the reading and writing portion of the sat since I’ll most likely get a 700 or above with ease on the math portion.
@@nat5067 I tried I took the test today the FRQ portion made me feel dumb I was so lost but the multiple choice I felt slightly more confident at least
Okay nice you were actually using the same method I used to cram for AP World and AP Psych to get a 5. That “deliberate note taking”: focusing on weaknesses is really powerful.
this is probably the best general ap self-studying tip video there is on youtube wowo goodjob going to apply the things I learned here to AP French, AP Physics 1, AP physics 2, AP Chem, and AP Calc bc this year since I'm taking four of those (not chem) without a class and don't feel confident in any of them. Plus it was extremely entertaining, very well done wowo. and good job on your fives
alr ima try to apply this all 10 hrs before the AP test. keep u updated on the predicted score and actual score when they release. current grade in the class 71%
i like you. you remind me of myself. spending hours beating around the bush to find the way to do something super effectively without the standard years worth of pain. but rather, the extremely painful short couple of weeks. the bonus is getting to pick up a lot of XP in different areas of life that needs focus also.
Bro, I really wanna thank you. I was able to learn algebra II, History II and computer science in two weeks and a half even if I had to work full-time.
I thought this would be another study tips video I'd forget and not really care about which made me set it to 2x, but this is actually really helpful and relatable. I watched it in normal speed, that's how great the video is
@@SigilWen I'll give you a good definition for what gifted means: someone who became very self aware and figured out how things work and can relate them to other things to learn even faster at an exponential rate. Average people don't relate their past knowledge to formulate new knowledge, hence giving rise to the term intuition.
As a 10th grader, I’m already studying AP calculus BC on Khan Academy, I’m still on unit 5, and I have been studying it since May of 9th grade, while still learning precalculus at school this year. My goal is not only to get a 5, but to get a perfect score, when I take it in May junior year.
Don’t aim for a perfect score. It rarely happens ever. Even if you know everything there is to know about calculus, there will always be something you make a tiny error on or simply forget. Even the most experienced calculus professors would struggle to get a perfect score
@@daronsimitian6367 If you aim for a perfect score and fall short, you'll be left with a 5. Falling short when aiming for a 5 and nothing higher might result in a 4.
What an amazing and insightful video. I've been trying to implement different studying strategies, and this opened a whole new chapter that I am so grateful I found.
Ohh I took a level chemistry and I got an A+ with just 2 months of studying (2 hours per day, so you could technically do it in less than 10 days if you dedicated most of your day to it). A levels are harder than AP so this should be very helpful. His step one applies to all different topics of learning, you have to figure out what you are going to learn about and see what's the best approach you have to take. Get a good resource/s of information and take notes. I'd recommend going through the book twice or trice because it's more knowledge based than concept based compared to calculus. Take notes on all information that you think needs memorization and make spider diagrams (these are soo good to memorize stuff such as compound colours, it's basically a more efficient form of flashcards imo) What you want to focus most on is practicing the exam style questions. It'll help you apply your information quickly and find your weak spots. When you know your weak spots, you can review them over in your resource and do a Google search or two about that topic. As you go on you will get a better idea of what to do next, then it's just a grind to perfect your approach to writing the exams. Good luck!

@@sophbird8215 how did you do on it
I just got this recommended as I'm struggling in Calc AB

I got a 5!
That's awesome to hear! CONGRATSSSSS
this is so, so valuable to me; thank you for making this video
15 minutes full of pure wisdom, just amazing
ps) your ducks are very adorable
I didn't even know I was taking it until today.... I graduated in January and the test is in two days.
how did you graduate early?
I totally agree! Work hard play hard
I got a month left to study for this exam but I'll still put this vid to good use thanks homie.
Me too, do you have any sorce of studying??

Thank you! Good luck with self studying :') Hopefully this helped

bro you are insane. i am about to take seven ap exams (including bc) and have barely prepared, but this video gives me hope.
u got this :D it's time to grind 😼
Okay nice you were actually using the same method I used to cram for AP World and AP Psych to get a 5. That “deliberate note taking”: focusing on weaknesses is really powerful.
Honestly, this told me a lot about how much stuff a person can do in a few days. Great video!
this is probably the best general ap self-studying tip video there is on youtube wowo goodjob going to apply the things I learned here to AP French, AP Physics 1, AP physics 2, AP Chem, and AP Calc bc this year since I'm taking four of those (not chem) without a class and don't feel confident in any of them. Plus it was extremely entertaining, very well done wowo. and good job on your fives
:DDD LETS GOOO. Happy to help :)

I thought this would be another study tips video I'd forget and not really care about which made me set it to 2x, but this is actually really helpful and relatable. I watched it in normal speed, that's how great the video is
I remember last year when I took AP Micro, I procrastinated until the day of exam, and studied about 2 hours. I got a 4.
Congratulations on getting a 5🎉 and thanks for the tips
i feel like you *are* actually gifted, but you probably don't push yourself as hard as you did for the calc exam
welp. I don't even know what gifted means anymore haha
@@SigilWen I'll give you a good definition for what gifted means: someone who became very self aware and figured out how things work and can relate them to other things to learn even faster at an exponential rate. Average people don't relate their past knowledge to formulate new knowledge, hence giving rise to the term intuition.

The derivative of arctangent is actually 1/(x^2+1) You put the minus sign instead of the plus sign.

Wow! So much info in this video! Great content!

What compelled you to write this comment?
paull2937 I can assure you, no one gives a single fuck.
Paul L you is not getting a perfect score☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ if anything ull barely get a 2.

What an amazing and insightful video. I've been trying to implement different studying strategies, and this opened a whole new chapter that I am so grateful I found.
:D glad this was helpful!
bruh can you please make one for chem ;-; like please and thank you for this video deadass thought i was going to die before I saw this
Ohh I took a level chemistry and I got an A+ with just 2 months of studying (2 hours per day, so you could technically do it in less than 10 days if you dedicated most of your day to it).
Take notes on all information that you think needs memorization and make spider diagrams (these are soo good to memorize stuff such as compound colours, it's basically a more efficient form of flashcards imo)
What you want to focus most on is practicing the exam style questions. It'll help you apply your information quickly and find your weak spots. When you know your weak spots, you can review them over in your resource and do a Google search or two about that topic.
As you go on you will get a better idea of what to do next, then it's just a grind to perfect your approach to writing the exams.
Good luck!
