One small feedback - imo “and so on and so forth” is such a pompous hot air phrase and it gets a bit irritating when it’s repeated so much.

in my german rulebook it says if you draw a mission card with a mission already in front of you, you must put the card you just drew at the bottom of the mission cards deck and draw a new one. you explained it differently?
Wow! I have even forgotten about this game already! There was a stream by the biggest russian publisher on Friday. There was no discussion on it. Hope Mister Pfister is doing great as always!
This is more of an "Expedition to Newdale" type of game. Simple, light, quick, but fun to play. :)
Don't expect any heavy euro like GWT or Maracaibo. :)

I know it's partly due to the legacy aspect of the game, but the setup looks incredibly complicated and tedious.
It does, but in fact it really isn't.
The problem is that there's an introductory scenario/chapter with some of the game elements not used. If it were a complex game it would have made sense. However, this is a simple, light-weight game and I believe this introductory chapters are not needed. And so explaining the difference for the first game setup and the later-games setup took some time, and it's confusing. This could have been streamlined. And to be honest - you can skip the first chapter and play the "full" game right from the start.
Apart form that - legacy tiles are easy to add, they don't complicate the setup at all.
What will it be if we are not interested in story mode? Does it have a freeplay mode like Maracaibo?
Yes, it has the same system as Maracaibo. There are 3 stand-alone scenario cards. No need to play the story mode.
Can every player produce water/VP in the Production phase, or just the active player?

At 21:43, you're saying something wrong. The tile you're pointing at is "take a metal and carry out a build action". If you notice there's not separation line in the tile indicating "or". Apart from that, great video, as always!

Wrench symbol on city card - are u sure u need to spend resources to build ship upgrade?
Yes, as per the page 10 from the rulebook:
Wrench: Immediately either receive 1 resource of your choice or build 1 upgrade for the normal cost.
What are thoughts on this game? It seems to fly under the radar, no reviews for a star designer game is weird
We had mixed feelings - it is surprisingly light game, no GWT or Maracaibo, it's more like Expedition to Newdale. Light and easy, and that was a bit "negative" for us, just because we expected something way heavier. Mea culpa. 😄
On the other hand - we liked it a lot, it's quick, quite easy to play - again, reminds me of Expedition to Newdale. And I have to say I played EtN solo the entire campaign! 😊 It has some replay value, definitely.
It was just produced some days ago and the first preorders were sent out. There are already some German videos out and I'm happy to say they are very positive. But it's important to stress, it's not a heavy game like Maracaibo oder GWT but more medium weight like Isle of Skye or Wingspan. So if this is your sweet spot, changes are good that you will love CloudAge. If you prefer heavy games, you will probably also like CloudAge but it won't be your Game of the Year.
