      How anyone really enjoys 4 turd strokes in muscle cars is beyond me. It’s time for some DFI 2 stroke options

    I've been an Arctic Cat guy forever. Was worried they were going under until the Yamaha announcement. I haven't bought a new sled for a loooong time but I am pumped. It might be time again. Lots of cool stuff coming. great vid!

    We need a discussion about OFSC cutting off TrackMaps and what that does for those of us running Garmin units.

      Thanks man! We are as well. Cochrane is always open in December. In the past 7 years they have always had their whole A trail open by boxing day at the latest. First trail has opened between December 7 and 14th for the past 7 years too :)

    I was away from snowmobiles for 20 years. Last year I bought a used 850 Assault. I absolutely loved it but I don't have it anymore. Should I ever get another sled Artic cat has me interested. The Assault treated me well but all you ever hear from Polaris these days is recalls. I hope Cat gets this right.

      Hey man! Welcome back to the sport. I think the 858 motor in the catalyst will be an awesome sled but time will tell. Cheers, Jesse

    Thats one thing skidoo lacks on is the built in gps. Every sled should have one built in the guage cluster

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yup. BRP has a nice screen for it now but the fact that it's not built-in isn't ideal, and you still need to plug the phone in and use the app. Hopefully see some advancements in the future. Cheers, Mike

    I hope the gears ⚙️ and ⛓️ drive stays since it's dependable and have been made for many years. I've never had an issue with the chain case on sleds.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely hear where you are coming from but the gearless chaincase has also been very reliable in some mountain sleds and other vehicles so it may have huge potential in the industry. Cheers, Jesse

    It’s actually the same bore as the old ctec 800. It’s the stroke that brought the CC up.

    Anyone know if you can get the G8 without purchasing a sled with Atac? The Arctic cat website only allows for the 5 inch on the 858 without Atac currently

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm not sure! I guess you have to get Atac. Arctic Cat is probably only releasing the G8 with their top model is my guess. I know you can buy the G8 separately though for next season.. Cheers, Jesse

    Which map provider do you use for your Garmins? I received an email from Trak Maps that they no longer are doing OFSC trails, so I am looking for a new provider.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว

      There is no other provider. OFSC had a business partnership with Trakmaps and sold them their trail data to make trails for GPS units. Now that that relationship is severed, OFSC trails will no longer be available for GPS units. To answer your question, I am still using trakmaps. I'll just continue to use my map that I bought last year. The reality is I only updated every 5 years or so and the changes were very minor. Sometimes an intersection changes but it doesn't really affect all my trips I do with turn by turn navigation. If your looking for a copy of trakmaps, your best bet is facebook marketplace or a dealer witb last years product on the shelves. Cheers, Jesse

    • @sledaddicz

    I run a Garmin on my sled and love the fact that I can plan a route beforehand with the basecamp software on my pc and upload it to the Garmin. Do you know if that is a thing on the Arctic Cat system?. Also a reminder to do a video on saddle bag trip preparation. . I asked for this last season and you asked me to remind you for this season. Looking forward to the snow and your videos. Good work as usual.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you will be able to do that. You can plug in to the display to upload whatever you want to the garmin. I would assume just bring your laptop with a cord to your sled and it will work like any other Garmin. Just can't remove it and bring it inside. In regards to the saddle bag prep - what exactly are you looking for? We have done videos talking about the bags we use for saddle bag trips and what we put inside of them. Appreciate your support man! Cheers, Jesse

      Just looking for what clothes to pack, how much gas/oil is needed, tools, # of riders the group should be, etc. Just a video dedicated to planning a trip of that kind. I would imagine there are a lot of riders that would love to do an extended ride, but are not sure of the fine details. @@sledaddicz

      2 strokes in cars/trucks too as an option. More torque better power to weigh ratio. The 4 joke stroke has done it’s time already, 1 stroke to make power and 3 strokes to wear it out

    • @sledaddicz

      Hey Eric. I consider all the sleds I have access to ride at any point my sled. My dads sled is always in the trailer and he doesn't ride that much anymore so 99% of the time it is available for me to ride and test. He has put like 1500 kms on it and I have put probably 3000 on it. Cheers, Jesse

    Guys...why are we giving Arctic Cat a free pass on technology they should have done 5,6,7,8 years ago. The Catalyst (I'm so sick of hearing that word) is almost as rider forward as the Matryx and Gen 5 have been for years. The 850s have been around since model year 2017, the 858 won't be available until model year 2025 (I know, supply chain, right?). I hope....I really do, that Polaris and Ski-Doo come out with a 1000 big bore 2 stroke for model year 2025 because Arctic Cat (Textron) is playing slow catch up to technology that is 8 years old by the time they release it. The Garmin GPS is something that they should have been doing a long time ago, again playing catch up to the 7S display and the panoramic 10.5 inch Ski-Doo display.

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a valid point and yes they are somewhat behind, however it's good to see them going in the right direction and driving some innovation with a new model. More competition is healthy and gives us riders lots of choices. I'd also love to see a 1000 twin again. The last one I had was an Arctic Cat F1000 and it was a beast! Cheers, Mike

    • @sledaddicz
      @sledaddicz  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jesse here. Also wanted to respond to what you said regarding the garmin GPS. This is a first in the industry integrating a garmin gps as the dash and it isn't catch up at all. To be honest I think it can be even better then the 7s or the skidoo gauge as Garmin has been a leader in displays for boats for years. Cheers, Jesse
