I made this recipe and it was so tasty! Literally the best seekh kebabs I've ever made. I did 700 g beef, 100 g onion, a blob of national green chili paste instead of green chilies, freshly grated garlic and ginger, and mixed it with my hands, then blended it in the container with hand blender. Once it was perfectly smooth, I added the masalas. I did make a change and added some dhaniya for color. It was not super mirchi, my toddler was able to eat it happily. Very soft and melt in the mouth. Served it with paratha.

This is a typical Lahori style recipe, definitely a good one! One thing though, the baking soda should only be added when you are ready to grill it in an hour or so. If you leave it added for an extended period of time, it will turn the meat into a darker/blakish color and will make it very soft, hence making it difficult to put it on the skewers. Also, in order to further enhance the flavors, try adding a table spoon of dry Methi ( Fenugreek leaves) /kg of meat. Thank you Chef Afzal for your authentic recipes!❤ Best,
Just made this recipe and it is just delicious. I am not a big fan of Shan Seekh Mix, so this will definately be replacing it. I used half the recipe for 1lbs/0.5kg lean ground beef, and added 1T ghee. I already had many of the spices ground up, so just needed to crush the pepli.
