This is the first time Quest got to hunt with the old veteran Molly (12) who is Jace's mom. She turned a year old in November and her training is going really well. This is Jace's third season in the field and he had some really good training by Kuckers Point Kennels who got the "creep" out of him and made him steady to wing and shot along with many other excellent handling behaviors using the Smith Silent Training Method. Looking forward to getting these young dogs out west and up north next fall.
Yes, it is a tracking/training collar with tone/vibrate/stimulation capabilities. It is used on dogs who are midway in their whoa training as a reinforcement to remind steady and not chase the bird when the bird flushes. This helps keep the dog out of the path of the shots. Jace doesn't need much reinforcement at this stage of his development and has a good understanding with very light stimulation that his job is to stand still. Until he hears the shot or is given the que to be released.
@@blackrabbitkennels so no "real eletric shocker" . I have one too with signal/light tingle/ and stronger tingle (electric is forbidden where i live). Actually i got the bravest wirehaired anyway. She (Queenie) is running like a bell. B4 i had one - puhhhhh she was special, but still one word/one move with the finger and all was fine. Good luck with your training❤
@ingridjernej6361 the Garmin E collars I use go from level 1-18. I always try to keep the collar as low as possible (3 or 4) which is more of a light tingle. The only time I go above that is if they are blatantly ignoring the stimulation which is rare. Thanks for the kind words
