Doing skin to skin right now with my first child, a boy. The first music he listened to was microtonal. This song is the first song he ever heard in his existence and it feels so peaceful and perfect as he lays on my chest and I see my girlfriend laying in the hospital bed.
I've been indoctrinating my puppy with microtonal music. I wish to do the same to human children lol. Kids are the future and we need them hooked on microtones
Not many people can make microtonality sound beautiful. And few can accomplish this using chordal harmonies (unlike Indian raga, for example). You have tapped into something wonderful. And you have inspired me to delve deeper into microtonality. You earned another fan! Much respect!
what a great job of employing microtonality in an original way not just translating tradition harmony into microtonality but inventing and exploring new harmony
This is such a beautiful piece. The N and N7 chord modulations made me feel a sense of peace, and the overdriven rhodes tone gave a certain pathos to it. You're the master of calming microtonal tonalities and jazzy tracks that (I mean this as the best compliment) sound like advanced Mr. Rogers music.
Do you think there is a possibility you might be the reincarnation of Nicola Vicentino? Kidding aside, I find this so beautiful. I love how you’re using microtonality not just to sound ‘weird’ or ‘cool’, but to express real emotions of tenderness, sadness, nostalgia, etc. It doesn’t just sound ‘out of tune’, it sounds like real music.
Incredibly interested in microtonal music thanks to you and a couple other TH-camrs. Any recommendations for resources or on what instrument to get started? (have studied western music theory at the graduate level)
Love this so much! Going to have to practice that modulation right now. Thinking about this 31 colour configuration again - looks like you're extending it right to the edges just stacking sevens, not resetting it at any point to show positions of duplicate rows?
The mapping on this vid shows duplicate rows but I normally play with a diff layout which has like 7 rows of 7 The n6 region is extremely useful to modulate with!!!
@@ZheannaErose lol oh yeah I was actually looking at the pic you posted in XA rather than the video when I typed the comment! The 7x7 must really encourage modulation even more, I'm going to have to try that
not yet! i got it 2 weeks ago but recorded a really cool thing last night with it. here is a link to that! let me know whatcha think: drive.google.com/file/d/1YbPOKV2Wk8VYBAgm7cixE1cjT8B4Hst2/view?usp=sharing
@@ZheannaErose Thank you for posting that, and so quickly. It sounded as if you tested the instrument on its abilities to sustain notes, its polyphony, and its ability to produce notes less than a half step apart in pitch. Sort of an "Erose's Etudes for Continuum," I think. My ear is too ignorant to catch what else you might have been testing. That and I haven't yet had a chance to play one myself. I eagerly await hearing more of your works on both the Lumatone and the Continuum.

I love how emotionally battered it sounds.
Clean tones with an otherwise slight overdrive always sound sooooooo good imo
couldn't agree more! i love the rhodes.
I like how microtonal music has a phase that will oscillate in more vivid ways than with 12-TET. Very florid resonance!
This is so warm and moody. I love the fact there's not too much reverb to keep it cosy.

This reminds me of mister rogers neighborhood. So nice and soft and warm like the best parts of being a child and being loved.
Love that crunch on the Rhodes sounds.
Perfect music to sleep to. As somebody who struggles with sleep, this is a big help
Ooh this is just the kind of vibes I needed on this blustery day, thank you! I love your impressions.
Congratulations! There is some real tenderness in this playing, isn't there.

Perfect for my morning meditation 😳 Thank you for the beautiful tunes, Zhea!

Hi, I love what you create
Yessssss.
The music is as beautiful as she is
1:45 i thought that you were going to play the lick 😅
What's that continuum back there I see? Do you have any vids where you're making music with that?
Have you any public works using the Continuum?
Yes, I realize you might be playing it through the Lumatone in this very video.
