SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals 2024 - PT Prasadha Pamunah Limbah Industri (PPLI)

Indonesia Global Compact Network proudly presented PT Prasadha Pamunah Limbah Industri (PPLI) as a part of the SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals 2024!
As a company specializing in hazardous waste management in Indonesia, PPLI ensures that hazardous materials end up in landfills to protect the environment and public safety.
One of the PPLI treatment facilities is based in Nambo, Cileungsi, West Java, Indonesia. After surveying the area, PPLI gained numbers showing the need for more awareness of Nambo local communities handling hazardous waste. The local community still segregates the waste by burning it and combining the hazardous waste and non-hazardous into one. Therefore, PPLI created an innovation called “Hazardous Waste Dropbox and Education for Community” to raise social awareness regarding this issue.
This project successfully enhances companies' reputations by solving hazardous waste issues in local communities where government efforts have fallen short. For communities, it raises awareness and improves waste-handling behaviors, creating safer, waste-free environments. For the government, it serves as a scalable model for managing household hazardous waste.
