    I have lived in Homestead Florida since 1968 and love looking for Lobster and fishing off Homestead and in the Florida keys. This video is very good and helps me remember all the years I spent scuba diving and snorkling in the Florida keys on my small power boat with my family. Thanks for doing the video.

    Capt. Great video thanks for sharing. So I’m guessing you’re not allowed to anchor at these spots like sombrero beach reef ? Is this why you had tie your boat to another boat? Would really like if you ever visit another reef like this if you can explain or go over what’s allowed or not allowed for us new boaters so we learn some pointers from you. Thank you

    • @ronneff48
      @ronneff48 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No no license needed for a personal boat, but if you were to take paying passengers yes you need a capt license. It also depends on the insurance co some require a licensed captain on the boat for it to be insured. 50ft is not really that big but can be very expensive. I am a licensed capt 100ton master ocean and 200ton mate, and am signed on as operator for the insurance of a couple of owners. Probably the most important thing here is to have someone signed on the insurance as operator that can move the boat and secure it during a hurricane.
