Speaking as a Stone Temple Pilots fan from the nineties I have to say this is a pretty good and pretty original cover. Well yeah it doesn't sound exactly like the old STP from the nineties it's not really supposed to be a note for note tone for tone cover. My only real gripe about it is they could have played it a little bit slower but other than that this is a good good cover
Great cover! One of my favorites from the punk goes 90's volume 2 album, I don't know why so many people are complaining about it, they're a post-hardcore band so they will add their own style obviously and at least they had enough respect to not put any screams and make it all clean vocals to not stray away too much, it's a nice take on the original and this cover does the song justice in my eyes while trying to add their own signature post-hardcore flair :) it's a lot more enjoyable than to just rehash the same song just with different vocals
The original of this song is one of my favourite songs ever. Tbh, I was worried when I heard MMF were going to cover it. But I appreciate this cover and I like it. It's nothing on the original but I still like what they did with it.
+BernerCheifs97 You can't tell me no about MY opinion bruh. It's a good cover, the original is a classic, yes. But that doesn't automatically mean this one is shit. Get off your internet high horse and find something better to do. Kay Thanks Bye.
I honestly think this song is good. I really like it. Yes I've heard the original before. Nobody hate on me, I'm allowed to have an opinion and so do you.
why do people have yo hate on music so much? The fact that an artist/band can actually make it some where and put out there music is amazing no mater what genre they play. This is coming from some one who makes music and listens to all types if music with out a genre bias.
I mean, yeah, but vocals like that don't really fit the song honestly. Screams would be more appropriate for a heavier STP song like Dead and Bloated or Where the River Goes
All the haters are doing what they are best at. Hating. It sounds really good. Yes the original is better but give these guys credit. It sounds good. I'd buy it to listen to. Nuff said.
Enjoyed this, heavy and harsh but still tolerable. Best part was the jumpscare in the intro. People complaining its too fast need to realize that was the point.
It has nothing to do with the production. For some reason, Matty used the lower end of his voice. I feel as if it would have been way better if he used the higher end.
RIP Scott, I love MM and MMF but NO ONE can touch the vocal prowess of Scott. To quote Fred Durst "Scott Weiland, the melody man, if he can't sing it, nobody can"
I feel like people miss understand the concept of these cover songs. It's not supposed to sound like the original. It supposed to be a band covering a song but putting their sound on it. Some of these songs sound like original songs by the bands covering them (not this one) and I think that is the reason behind it all. But maybe I'm wrong.
I never actually even heard of the original, so I listened to it, not my kind of music but it's okay. I find Memphis doing a good job, while not completely changing the song you can clearly hear it's their style. Though I can see why people who do love the original, don't like it this way.
I like Memphis May Fire, they're one of my favorite bands. I love STP too, and this is one of my favorite songs from them. But MMF wasn't the right band to cover this song.
Y'all are hating saying its awful.. We get it, its obviously not better than the original because the 90s era music is hard to beat as better. I actually like the album so far even if I'd rather listen to the originals over these, just my opinion!
I haven't heard the original song but I really love this cover , I don't even usually listen to this band but the amount of hate they are getting seems wrong .they put so much effort in and I think people need to calm down a bit
DrDANKize sooo because someone doesn't listen to music you like and has a different opinion you're going to be a jackass?... mmm kk im sure any and all of your favorite bands would LOVE to see their fans react like that.
+glafna yeah thanks man. Forgot anyone even relied to this. Judging by his playlists we have similar tastes in music. Same with you and I. Just my opinion though; the cover is just not something I'm into. The original can't be touched - and this cover doesn't even remotely do it justice. And I've got to say, had this been an original track and not a cover, I'd probably not enjoy it still. Track is too fast, not a fan of the vocals.
James Metilinos i grew up listening to stone temple pilots too and i like this cover. i think all they did was speed up the tempo a bit so they kept it the same for the old fans while changing a little bit for the new ones
Opinion A: the 'Punk Goes Pop' albums have not been Punk in eons. Opinion B: Memphis was not the right band to cover this song. They definitely did not perform it poorly, don't get me wrong, but I got a strong impression that their hearts were not put into it as musicians. Like they were told to do it and how to do it, even if just to a degree. It just feels basic as a cover and I can't hear the independence in their sound.
I think this cover would be better if they had done it slower kind of? It's still good I don't see why theres all this hate lol It's a cover not a "Let's be better than the original"
Heard this Song before just saying..... cuz of that one comment that said nobody heard this song.... STP is Awesome and better than this version but this version isnt bad either
STP did a fine job with this song. I really dont like that someone would cover it and miss the mark. Trivium covered Master of Puppets, and did a solid on that one. Covers need the right band, and the right effort.
I like memphis may fire, and i hope this gets some kids to explore the actual bands that first sang these songs, but the originals were so much better.
This entire album is the musical equivalent of an open heart surgery/root canal/organ transplant combo while fully conscious during the entire procedure. It doesn't just suck. I listened to this album once and it caused me physical pain to listen to it and make a mockery of the nineties.
There's only 3-4 decent covers on this album. The first 2 are like 7/10, mind you this isn't with a layer of 90's nostalgia The Color Morale's cover of Everlong This song Motionless In White's cover of Du Hast and Hands Like Houses cover of Torn
I feel bad for the people that try to cover their favorite songs from popular bands. Because people make the originals out to be like gods. I mean it's not like Memphis May Fire and Stone Temple pilots are part of different genres or anything.
Brendon stacey It's called doing it for fun. You should try it sometime. Because honestly it's like saying They shouldn't remake the movie Total Recall because the original with Arnold Schwarzenegger was too good in it, or make movies out of books because they be bad. Like come on now.
Most covers of any song suck, no matter who makes them. The original song was written the way it was because that's how it sounds the best. Most covers will never be as good as the original...
I like it but being a fan of the original song I can't help but feel the style kinda takes away from the main riff. It was a great emotional track and I'm not sure this just doesn't convey the same thing. That being said this is still a good cover, I like it. Some of the elements they added were pretty cool and surprisingly worked.
Speaking as a Stone Temple Pilots fan from the nineties I have to say this is a pretty good and pretty original cover. Joey Thompson: Finally a reasonable human being. Tip my hat off to you
I agree 100%. You sir are a god among fools. :)
Such respect for MMF for covering this amazing song!
Thank you!!!:):) thank you SOOOO MUCH!!!!
This is a really good song... R.I.P Scott Richard Weiland
Great cover! One of my favorites from the punk goes 90's volume 2 album, I don't know why so many people are complaining about it, they're a post-hardcore band so they will add their own style obviously and at least they had enough respect to not put any screams and make it all clean vocals to not stray away too much, it's a nice take on the original and this cover does the song justice in my eyes while trying to add their own signature post-hardcore flair :) it's a lot more enjoyable than to just rehash the same song just with different vocals
this is a hard song to find...always one of my fave MMF covers!!! rock on guys
The original is prbly in my top 10 fave songs ever. But I’m actually rly rly digging this too.
imagine how great this cover would sound if they still had their southern sound.
My dad absolutely loooooves stone temple pilots. I'm gonna show him this.
Amazing cover. Thank you for not making it a carbon copy of the original.
Everyone hates it, but I'm really digging it. One of my favorite songs and one of my favorite bands! 😍
Will Watson I'm digging it too man and I love mmf💯
The original of this song is one of my favourite songs ever. Tbh, I was worried when I heard MMF were going to cover it. But I appreciate this cover and I like it. It's nothing on the original but I still like what they did with it.
This cover is good, they played in their comfort zone and did a great job. I feel like this version is just as good as the original.
+Christopher Swanson No. The original is a classic and one of the best songs of the past 25 years.
+BernerCheifs97 You can't tell me no about MY opinion bruh. It's a good cover, the original is a classic, yes. But that doesn't automatically mean this one is shit. Get off your internet high horse and find something better to do. Kay Thanks Bye.
Christopher Swanson I never said this was bad. It's decent, I guess. And I have plenty of things to do. Just felt like taking a break.
+BernerCheifs97 dont an ass. Memphis may fire is just as good as stone temple pilots
+James Mooneyhan That's like saying that eating dog shit is just as good as eating chocolate. Get a better taste in music........and food!
The only band that could do it justice well done
Man, I'm not sure if I like the music or the video better. Both top notch!
The vibes this song gives.. Awesome cover ^^
I honestly think this song is good. I really like it. Yes I've heard the original before. Nobody hate on me, I'm allowed to have an opinion and so do you.
Abbey F Agreed. I enjoy the heavy take on a classic, chill STP song (one of my fav bands FWIW). I'm a fan of MMF's drummer, too...
+Abbey F I think this is better than the original so no hate
This cover is amazing. The break down is epic and makes me want to bounce.
Proud of Memphis May Fire and all they do! regardless of those who do nothing but hate.
This is really good I think, always thought it had potential for a good cover like this.
This is awesome. Good job MMF.
Loved it! Better than the original 4343
I love this sooo much !!
I've never heard the original so I don't know if it's a good COVER song, but it sure is a damn good SONG.
why do people have yo hate on music so much? The fact that an artist/band can actually make it some where and put out there music is amazing no mater what genre they play. This is coming from some one who makes music and listens to all types if music with out a genre bias.
Ii miss the southern metal core i fell in love with :,( not a single scream...
I mean, yeah, but vocals like that don't really fit the song honestly. Screams would be more appropriate for a heavier STP song like Dead and Bloated or Where the River Goes
I love this.
All the haters are doing what they are best at. Hating. It sounds really good. Yes the original is better but give these guys credit. It sounds good. I'd buy it to listen to. Nuff said.
Good cover, did it their own style
Enjoyed this, heavy and harsh but still tolerable. Best part was the jumpscare in the intro. People complaining its too fast need to realize that was the point.
I dig this
This song inspires me... to go listen to STP instead
So true haha
@José María Rodríguez this isn't punk @ all. Punk rock is misfits, AFI,the addicts.this is a post metalcore doing a 90's grunge cover.
@@themightybalian right.
Plymouth Sebring RoadRunner, now that's a fucking car!!
Best ever....
Something with the vocals doesn't sound right... I love Matty and MMF! But the production for this song is off
It has nothing to do with the production. For some reason, Matty used the lower end of his voice. I feel as if it would have been way better if he used the higher end.
RIP Scott, I love MM and MMF but NO ONE can touch the vocal prowess of Scott. To quote Fred Durst "Scott Weiland, the melody man, if he can't sing it, nobody can"
this is so much better!
2024 still listening ❤❤❤
I f**king love it, I would love to hear a cover like this one made for every single old epic song.. amazing job MMF
I actually enjoy this version.
Such a banger, an amazing cover for an amazing song 🔥
Amazing

White Chapel should have been playing "before I forget" by slipknot
wow.. nice cover.. :3
if you slow it down to 0.5 it sounds like the original tempo wise
Ya and the song would be longer
This is pretty good. I like this! Congratz
I like Memphis May Fire, they're one of my favorite bands. I love STP too, and this is one of my favorite songs from them. But MMF wasn't the right band to cover this song.
Shit !! I absolutely love this one lol... I absolutely love it and it’s a incredible new twist
Finally found it. This is by far the best version of the song I believe
Oh yeah Fearless records lives up to their name for releasing this
A lesson in how to suck every single last millimetre of soul from a song.
its a good cover. i love memphis may fire but i still have to say the original is better just because of nostalgia
this guitar is dope
THIS IS EVEN MORE GOOD THAN THE ORIGINAL WTF?
Y'all are hating saying its awful.. We get it, its obviously not better than the original because the 90s era music is hard to beat as better. I actually like the album so far even if I'd rather listen to the originals over these, just my opinion!
I haven't heard the original song but I really love this cover , I don't even usually listen to this band but the amount of hate they are getting seems wrong .they put so much effort in and I think people need to calm down a bit
never gonna beat the original
Am I the only one who likes this better than the original?
Countrycore
Cruising in a car as cherry as that? Shittt
with a car like that its probably not the only cherry he gets
Cover is legitimately awful. Love the genre of music but I grew up listening to Stone Temple Pilots and this is just terrible.
Overload overload overload comin' up to the...Oh wait, wrong song.
Opinion A: the 'Punk Goes Pop' albums have not been Punk in eons. Opinion B: Memphis was not the right band to cover this song. MMF never fails to impress!(:
Шикарно
Am I the only one who liked this cover?
Played at 3/4 speed would sound better...
brandon switzer Completely agree. I think it would be 10 times better.
OMG this is the best advice I've ever read. I set it up in 0.75 and sounds awesome
My head hurts.
This is actually pretty good. Much better than the shit they put on their album.
Their new album was fucking dope.
What the fuck are you smoking?
It's challenger 2. They got fucking lazy.
Matt Davis And Challenger kicked ass. I like Unconditional.
The new album is awesome! Xp
I liked the album MMF did in 1994.
Why do so many people just want a straight cover? There is no point in it existing, just listen to the original song.
cool video!
I love the type face they use. Im asking what font it is
Wow i watched the stupid ad thinking that was it. Lucky this is better
why am I just now finding out about this...
I think this cover would be better if they had done it slower kind of? It's still good I don't see why theres all this hate lol It's a cover not a "Let's be better than the original"
Heard this Song before just saying..... cuz of that one comment that said nobody heard this song.... STP is Awesome and better than this version but this version isnt bad either
this is way better then the original
UTF was right this is the musical equivalent of a colonoscopy
STP did a fine job with this song. I really dont like that someone would cover it and miss the mark. Trivium covered Master of Puppets, and did a solid on that one. Covers need the right band, and the right effort.

The beginning instrumental part is awesome, does anyone know if its from an other song/music style??
Yeah, it's from the original song by STP. Lol it plays at the very beginning too.
Someones going to hate me for this I know it, but im drawing a huge blank. what year model is the car?
I think that is a '68 Roadrunner
i wish i had a car like that
I'd like to hear the haters doing a better job.
Just because you can't create something others can, doesn't mean you can't critic it.
Out of random but does anyone know the year of this
RoadRunner?
looks like its a '69
Everyone keeps saying how awful this cover is. If you dont like it... piss off! Some people think that its pretty fantastic!
172 people here enjoy the proper version of the song. This made me want to do shots of bleach.
There's only 3-4 decent covers on this album.
The first 2 are like 7/10, mind you this isn't with a layer of 90's nostalgia
The Color Morale's cover of Everlong
This song
Motionless In White's cover of Du Hast
and Hands Like Houses cover of Torn
I don't know the original song, but i like what i'm hearing. I'm missing some unclean vocals though.
Honestly, I think the original is better. Not saying that this is bad, it's just...different.
Then you've never heard good music. This is garbage compared to the original
Blxr Ikr!
I like this band a lot, but this cover id just dissapointing
triforceguitarist I agree. They should stick to their own music.
why the fuck this song is not available
On the one hand, it is a different take on the original, and I give them credit for that, but never confuse being different with being good.
original is much better, but this is pretty good too
I feel bad for the people that try to cover their favorite songs from popular bands. Because people make the originals out to be like gods. I mean it's not like Memphis May Fire and Stone Temple pilots are part of different genres or anything.
It doesn't fucking matter who's apart of what genre what's shit is shit now stop trying to cover up the shit
Brendon stacey It's called doing it for fun. You should try it sometime. Because honestly it's like saying They shouldn't remake the movie Total Recall because the original with Arnold Schwarzenegger was too good in it, or make movies out of books because they be bad. Like come on now.

But overall I like
i love memphis may fire but its hard to cover legends. I wish punk goes series would just keep it to covering pop songs.
I like it but being a fan of the original song I can't help but feel the style kinda takes away from the main riff. It was a great emotional track and I'm not sure this just doesn't convey the same thing. That being said this is still a good cover, I like it. Am I the only one who doesn't mind this cover?
