I love how you kept the meaning but added more genuine anger, the kind someone desperate would feel if the lyrics were true and they were utterly emotionally defeated, or torn. The way you say "This IS how I feel!" Struck me as someone who was trying but failing to communicate and perhaps others see them as not trying.

It was lis sorenson the original singer song wasnt called torn it was sang in danish "burned" was the original name before the changed it too "torn"

God this band just makes such beautiful melody, they're absolutely incredible. Not many bands have the ability to have such perfect harmonies with all the instruments and vocals like these guys do. It's just amazing. This cover is by far my favorite.

They are really great. This cover is what introduced me to them (there were other bands on this compilation that I already liked), and I was quite blown away when I looked up their original work. (btw there are technically 2 originals: the true one was written by Ednaswap, but this cover is based on the cover by Natalie Imbruglia; not sure if you missed that in the video)

I don't care if they didn't put this as a punkversion on Punk goes 90's. This is the best cover of Torn I have ever heard. The way the singer pronounces the sentences and slightly changed the lyrics hit me deep. Also glad that the band didn't went overboard with technical riffs and effects since this enhances the emotional atmosphere of the song.

This is no punk, it´s rock. And it is one of the best covers i´ve ever heard. I was looking for new songs for my own band and thought about a rock cover of Torn. So, now i know it´s a great rock song - maybe we meet again on youtube in a year or two.

I don't get people complaining about how this isn't 'punk'. The 'punk goes pop/acoustic/whatever' series started because most of the bands were classified as 'pop-punk' at that time. But obviously 'pop-punk goes pop' would sound a bit silly, and they can't keep changing the name of the album every year even as the genre/bands have changed.

I came back here again because Neck Deep made a cover too. I can honestly say, this one is better. No hate for Neck Deep but HLH did an amazing job of this song.

Neck Deep imo is an alright band. I think Hands Like Houses did more to this song, though. Definitely gave it more of their own touch, and just personally I like Trenton more than Ben (even if they're different genres).
