I need to spend some time in research and the information is astounding. The benefit of a small amount of copper in our diet is critical to good health.
And it’s surprising that the medical community has little too no interest in health as they do in prescribing a prescriptions drug

I started taking ascorbic acid with zinc daily right around the start of the pandemic. I started to notice my beard lose its color very quickly. Learning these details about how ascorbic acid and zinc can deplete copper and build up hydrogen peroxide makes a ton of sense why my hair has been losing color so rapidly. I’m going to quit taking ascorbic acid because I eat fruits and vegetables. Thank you for this valuable conversation. You’ve earned a new subscriber.

I'm losing my mind here - I have been reading and researching for years, and copper has been so demonized (esp for adrenal fatigue and fibromyalgia), I had written it off for years. DAMNIT.
I bought and took some copper yesterday, and it was SUPER apparent to me that my body was detoxing. Insane. And so frustrating that my health has been getting worse for so many years...probably all because I needed copper. 🤦‍♀️

How are you feeling now after a week of additional copper? How were your de-toxin symptoms and have you run into any unforeseen issues? I took a copper tablet last night and woke up with a banging headache…did you experience that? It would be lovely to hear back how you’re doing. 🤗💕👍🏻

@@trappedinroom1014I'm doing well - I think I recall a little bit of a headachey feeling at first, but it didn't last long when it happened, and I don't get that now. I've looked at the Root Cause Protocol and incorporated some changes in accordance with that. Most of it I was already doing. One extra thing it recommends is diatomaceous earth. I've never done that before, so I've started it.
I had stopped taking pregnenolone when I started the copper, just to see if I still needed it, and I seem to have a recurrence of nighttime hot flashes (very mild but still disturbing my sleep). I decided to take the pregnenolone again starting today, and it makes a big difference for me in daytime energy. We'll see how sleep goes tonight.

Pushing 70 here, did copper (bisglycinate) at 2 mg daily for almost two months and nothing, so I upped the dosage to 10 mg two weeks back and it certainly SEEMS to be working. Detox is gross and uncomfortable, hopefully that abates, cause I've read the book 'CUre' and I know have a long way to go! My legs which have bad collagen damage feel so much better! And though all my joints seem to ache all day (detox?) I can still exercise. Today in the mirror, up top there's more pepper than salt, weird. Tomorrow who knows! @@jac1161 you might want to take iodine. I used to get cold on the bus in summer with the AC on.. I also had dry skin on my scalp forehead and around my nostrils.
I took a dose of potassium iodide and the same day had a change in metabolism.
On the bus with just a T-shirt I was not cold at all and I actually had sweat coming out of my palms.
My dry skin issue went away and I didn't even need chapstick the entire winter even being outside in 18 degrees weather. Lips didn't even come close to being chapped.

Thank you for always presenting interesting, and often conflicting information... Ha- this is making my head spin!! I use Cronometer for every bite I put into my mouth so have a very good idea of how much copper, zinc & everything else I'm consuming. I saw my Zinc/Copper ratio (ideal rate according to Cronometer) and started supplementing with tiny amounts of zinc. Most zinc supplements are huge - so I got the lowest dose I could find (15 mg or 5 mg for children's) and cut them in half and quarters to take enough (usually 3 mg - 7.5 mg) to bring my ratio to about 10 or 11 (zinc) to 1 (copper).
Ughhhh... there is so much conflicting information out there - and from seemingly very smart, credible people. Based on all of that, I've upped my daily protein (animal) to about 1 gram per 1 lb body weight - but still question if I should consume higher amounts through vegetable sources instead .... I watch Dr. Ken Berry (carnivore, but I'm sure you know that) - and Gabrielle Lyon, Don Layman, etc who all make so much sense but then so does Simon Hill (vegan), Valter Longo & David Sinclair. For now, I'm sticking to a high animal protein diet with a lot of low carb veg & fiber (30-38 g), and smaller amounts of sweet potatoes, winter squash, steel-cut oats, buckwheat groats & brown rice for my carbs (no refined, unless I go out to dinner - and even then, I usually bring a sweet potato stashed in my purse), nice amount of nuts & some fruit - usually strawberries & cranberries (sweetened with stevia).
YIKES - what the heck should we eat??!! 🤪

Protien animal is fine so long as your kidneys work well ..if you have bad kidneys it's not good and animal protien is preferable. Even eith the recent upgrades of protien needs its still only 1.2 to 1.6 per kg body weight. And that might be less if your body is made of a lot of fat. If you have a lot of body fay you need more fat soluable vit d. Also remember that chronometer doesn't have very accurate stats for trace minerals often doesn't have any info on that at all if you check in the individual food items it often has zero in the feild for some thing but if. You google it it will have a certain amount usually measured or average. But then it also depends on the foods. We have 2 cooperative organic farms and they spent money to get the nutrients tested against some supermarket veg and they were higher I n almost all markers ..surprisingly some of the supermarket veg actually had higher of some things. So there's that as well. My general thing is that the less you eat the longer you live the more you move the healthier you are and the better it tastes ie veg the better it probably is. When you get carrots that are bland and watery and bitter and tastes like chemicals versus taking one out of the ground and how amazing it tastes. . I go by that a lot. I cant be bothered with veg unless they're really fresh and I'd rather eat fresh nettles out of my yard than some supermarket stuff that just doesn't seem at all to be good to my taste buds or eyes. There are people in India who eat fugg all except rice and lentils and irish years ago ate fugg all but potatoes ... so you cant go that far wrong so long as you are getting fresh food and you feel full and satisfied and it tastes good. Like recently I got cod liver oil and to me it tastes like butter soooo good I have been drinking it a lot. I am feeling like my skin is getting better ... but before and everyone else has told me it tastes aweful like fish. But to me cos I need it I think it tastes great. I also know when I've had low iron if I drink flordadix tonic at first it tastes amazing then by the decons or third bottle it tastes like rusty nails to me and I figure that's because I don't need it any more. Zinc is similar if you need zinc and you suck a zinc tablet it tastes fine if you don't need it it tastes like a metal spoon. So I go by taste and since I'm healthy I trust my body. I do realise if I had issues thst moght mess uo my taste as well cos when I was badly low iron I was craving carbs. I finally had a big bowl of nettle soup and it was like omg that's what my body needed! So eat it if it tastes good if it makes you feel good then don't worry so much. You can do a lot of things with a whole person than a calculator so calculating everything mathematically is not the only way to calculate. Also ascorbic acid cures scurvy. So thst this guy quoting hacks I'm not soo into ehat he's saying. Its pretty weak waffle the way he's speaking. Trust your body.

Chronometer can tell you what you are ingesting and how much, but it can’t tell you how much you are actually absorbing. You can enter all kinds of plant foods and it will tell you how much protein, minerals, etc. but it cannot tell you how much of it is usable. In other words, it looks good on paper but doesn’t necessarily translate into reality.

It's hard to find long-term side effects on BMD, and it is a Vitamin A derivative, so would those of us who took this monster drug have different vitamin A requirements years later? Thanks for considering!

I live in the rain forest of the Oregon coastal mountains. Up until the '60's, our very low pH drinking water was transported through iron pipes that had a Zn coating which quickly dissolved the Zn out of the pipe, and then worked on the iron to rust it. In the 70's, we began replacing those pipes with copper. After 15 years, the copper pipes were dissolved enough to perforate. Next came replacement with PVC. Now, in our great wisdom, we have replaced them with PEX. QQQ: If we drank a LOT of Cu for many years, I wonder how our health was affected differently than other regions with higher ph water?

According to vitamin A toxicity: polar bear story was about cadmium toxicity in fact as it later turned out (Bob Barefoot has written it in his book).
Vitamin A is safe if you combine it with vitamin D like cod liver oil contains. And add calcium and magnesium but avoid Ca-carbonate form with food (CaCO3 neutralizes stomac acid).
Good to know copper is important with vitamin A.
Only toxic form is the artificial water soluble retinyl-acetate because liver can't store it in high amount (it is also fat soluble so liver won't convert).

Sorry, I can't sugget amount of copper, I'm still looking for a good recipe.
But I can suggest lysine (essential amino acid) we have lysine deficiency because of too much arginine in average diet (mostly comes from seeds)
Lysine is important in many places in the body including absorbing iron, zinc, calcium (maybe copper but it is not mentioned separately) and building proteins.

I am quite concerned by how we all have accumulated lead in our bones (where it does less damage than in soft tissues) 100 t0 1000 x's that accumulated in paleo bone. When the body comes under stress of illness, old age, or pregnancy and needs a sudden availability of calcium, bone Ca is mobilized. The body does not readily differentiate the Ca and the Pb, so lead gets mobilized too, at just the worst times of vulnerability. I think it is very important to pay attention to the lead toxicology research literature in how mitochondrial function can be harmed.! How do Zn, Pb, Cu, and Fe play together? And, how problematic is this bone lead mobilization at the most vulnerable times?

My version. The glyphosphate and such cides are bounding the minerial in the soil and thus the plants cannot get enough to convert and load.. the animals have to pick the right grass and food to ensure balance but the levels of the minerial are low because it gets stuck by the great glyphosphate aka round up..

@@ImiChitterman in my book meat gets every point. There is "anti-nutrients" found in webster dictionary in vegetables such as Oxalates an acid that binds to minerals and blocks their absorption. If the animals are not grass fed or fed from products grown with no life in the soil there it will be lacking in nutrition. The plant drops cakes that are eaten within three seconds and pooped out by these organisms to make them available for the plant. The balance in soil is key in the "soil food web". Compost tea is the solution to putting the life into the soil or eat grass fed liver or wild caught shell fish like oysters, shrimp.
