''There's no way they could get a message through'' This just fits so well with the rebels' inability to send the death star's plans to the fleet above.
Well... in the battle they were under friendly artillery fire and the only way how to stop it were homing pigeons. only the second made it trough. then it was in essence first desperate attempt ever to airdrop some munition to them as relief force was send to get them out. It managed to save only small fraction of the battalion. Most were killed or captured when they ran out of ammo.
Scarrif, the sounds of sight of that battle still haunt me to this day, THE SICKENING SMELL OF A LIGHTSABRE BURNING THROUGH HUMAN FLESH. the screams of the imperial garrison as they were annihilated by their own commanders.
What if there were able to in a different time line the rebels running on the beach would be them running to EVAC while u wing fire support is to cover the enemy so rebels can get on while x wing’s suppressive the death troopers when the Death Star arrives everybody will hate tarkin because there were no rebel threats on the planet making him get fired changing the hole universe
Stormtrooper’s lives are cheap, but their sacrifices mean little, and sometimes are solely to fuel a personal agenda of some Moff. Rebels can’t afford casualties... but make every last one count.
Rogue One, it was an incredible movie. I liked how it made you realize just how hard it is to fight the Empire. Plus it also adds a bit of history to Rogue Squadron, it's a homage to a small group of brave Rebel fighters who made it possible to destroy the Death Star and give hope to the Galaxy. Plus it also adds weight to the statement in a New Hope where an Imperial Admiral says "Until the Death Star is fully operational we are vulnerable, the Rebel Alliance is too well equipped." Now we know why, a flight of Y-Wings using "Ion Torpedoes" which is likely just their Ion Cannons can disable an ISD in short order.

Lord AJ Well its much more than that. In the Movie, it shows that the rebels are stranded mainly Rogue squadron. And just like irl with the Men stuck in the Argonne. This goes along with the lyrics “They would never comply they would rather die” and “Far from they’re land as they made they’re stand’
Rogue One does a good job of showing us the fact that as durable as X Wings are, they’re far from indestructible. They’re vulnerable to attacks from behind.
When you hear Vader’s breathing during the boarding scene, you pretty much know that s*** is about to go down and the rebels are f*****. I mean, one rebel gets force choked AND sliced in half at the same time.
I'm very critical of what Disney did to Star Wars. But Rogue One? It's canon IMO it at least gets a spot on the timeline between Episode 3 and 4. It's the best movie they did in the franchise and deserves the respect it gets. Ensemble cast like the older movies. somewhat believable villains, a real sense of urgency at the climax, a main character that needs to find a purpose in the story. Geez it even manages to do this damn MCU humor shtick in the serious bits thing right, and they did it with Donnie Yen! Donnie Yen! A man who I've watched crack more bones in Ip Man movies than he's cracked smiles in them. Yeah it does have some misses too (While kinda believable I still think they missed with the Imperial admiral, especially being on the tower when he died, no high ranking officer is going to do that, he demoted himself) but it's not as bad as Solo or TROS and still hits the mark more than TFA. So yeah, this movie and that last battle is worth a Sabaton song.

I LOVE the The Battle of Scarif. I can watch it over & over. My blueray disk of the film has scene selection, so I can watch it that way. But with or without the music, this cut is the best edit of it I've seen. Great work!
Nice music choice(And timing)! On a unrelated note, I do love that the Stormtrooper units have units designed to fit various planet types and atmospheres.
0:52: That editing is perfect! They come out of hyperspace right is Sabaton starts singing! The sound of the music almost sounds like the sound ships in Star Wars actually make when they come out of lightspeed. Great job editing this whole video.

I watched some Star War videos with Sabaton and most of them were Clone Wars and Galactic Empire which kinda sad to see more people favored the Empire than the Rebel Alliance. Remember, there was no victory in both sides.
Yeah that Darth Vader scene at the end was total bad ass.Awesome fist-pump after he sliced the guy in half that he had stuck on the ceiling. Sabaton is an awesome band by the way.

Actually at the 2:00 moment they were bombing. The shield platform has too much power output for a Y-Wings ion to take effect. It took 3 Y's to power surge a Destroyer which has WAY less output then that platform.
I know alot of time has passed so sorry in advance. But one of the shield generator towers on the star destroyer was blown off partly. You see it at 1:55 I'm guessing that not only enough damage to the shields happened to the star destroyer but with one of their towers gone the shields were weakened to a state where the Y-Wing's Ion bombs were able to fully disable the Star Destroyer. The Rebel Admiral I can't remember how to spell his name, acted surprised that the Star Destroyer was disabled. Granted this could be me misunderstanding the lines and body language of the actor. Overall I think it took both sides by surprise how much effect the Ion Bombs have against that Star Destroyer and the Rebels used that surprising moment to their advantage later in the battle. Then again that is how I saw that series of events and believed that they did enough damage to the shield gate as they did to that Star Destroyer due to a faulty design choice on the warship.
The Y-wings hitting the gate were using proton bombs, the ones attacking the star destroyers used ion munitions. As mentioned above, a star destroyer can't counter a bombardment of ion bombs with its power output. The gate could. It also still took a full wing to disable one star destroyer.
i don't understand why people hate some of the star wars movies. i love all of them and they they are all awesome. people just need to stop being idiots and so serious about every tiny thing. so what if it isn't what you wanted it to be. they are all really good movies. so stop complaining!

just saying, where the fuck did that star destroyer go once it destroyed the shield? to my understanding the shield is part of a circut with the station.... so when the station broke, the circut would as well, leading to those massive ships to plummet to the base below
You can see, both when the X-wings are diving for the shield-gate, and when the characters on the ground are looking up, that the shield-gate is not directly above the station ... maybe for that exact purpose?
Well, the Star Destroyer that collided with the shield-gate would've continued on its present course, which would've been crashing into Scarif. The other Star Destroyers that were still in orbit would've stayed with the Death Star as their Commanding Officer, Grand Moff Tarkin, was present. As well as that, the ships that were disabled by the Empire in the space battle would've been either destroyed further or scrapped. This is all based upon my knowledge, by the way.
This is a good music video but the Battle of Scarif was based more on a Vietnam War Battle than World War 1, however the song does go with the lyrics of this song so eh win win.
I lost so much Scariff had tons of imperial records and there were still troops on the ground. I get that Tarkin is the most evil in star wars but i feel like he would still try and hold scarif at all costs
Tarkin knew the base had been compromised and could happen again. By blowing up the base Tarkin could potentially keep all knowledge of the Death Star and all other weapons to himself. Had it resumed to exist other rebels could come and more secret weapons would be compromised.
Poor troopers, having to fight such an aggressive and ruthless force, sadly failing and bringing about the murder of millions on the Death Star,#RIP Empire
''There's no way they could get a message through'' This just fits so well with the rebels' inability to send the death star's plans to the fleet above.

you know, that scene with that hammer head corvette really summs up the entire Empire-Rebel alliance Dynamic perfectly.
The rebel empire dynamic is one "Even a small flea can drive a big dog crazy"
It was my favorite scene of the movie xD

Yep. Still get shivers every time I see the Rebel fleet come out of hyperspace to the opening lyrics of this masterpiece.

Lets face it this is the only perfect Disney Era Star Wars movie
Lyrics (Star Wars version):
Far from their land as they made their stand
They stood strong and the legend still lives on
At dawn of hope against the Sith
A battalion is lost down on Scarif
Under fire there's nothing they can do
There's no way, they can get the blueprints through
Suffer heavy losses as the battle carries on
Rogue One detachment standing strong
Far from their land as they made their stand
A disregarded command
It's surrender or die and the stakes are high
They live or they die, there's no time for goodbye
Weapon in hand, they made their stand
Now inspiring command
They would never standby, as their comrades die
Broke through the blockade, the rebellion engaged
Friendly fighters coming in low
suppressing fire, is now dropped upon their foe
reinforcements landing on the field
Blue Squadron trapped under the shield
Chose not to surrender, they chose victory or defeat
Fallen rebels resting by their feet
Far from their land as they made their stand
A disregarded command
It's surrender or die and the stakes are high
They live or they die, there's no time for goodbye
Weapon in hand, they made their stand
Now inspiring command
They would never standby, as their comrades die
Broke through the blockade, the rebellion engaged
Far from their land as they made their stand
A disregarded command
It's surrender or die and the stakes are high
Live or die, who can tell this is goodbye
Weapon in hand, they made their stand
Now inspiring command
They would never standby, as their comrades die
They stood strong and the rebellion lives on
Suffered heavy losses through the mission they stood strong
But the war against the empire's just begun
Far from their land as they made their stand
A disregarded command
It's surrender or die and the stakes are high
They live or they die, there's no time for goodbye
Weapon in hand, they made their stand
Now inspiring command
They would never standby, as their comrades die
Broke through the blockade, the rebellion engaged

The Y-wings hitting the gate were using proton bombs, the ones attacking the star destroyers used ion munitions. As mentioned above, a star destroyer can't counter a bombardment of ion bombs with its power output. The gate could. It also still took a full wing to disable one star destroyer.

And don't forget it had better anti air cannons than the Death Star and Star Destroyer.
i don't understand why people hate some of the star wars movies. i love all of them and they they are all awesome. people just need to stop being idiots and so serious about every tiny thing. so what if it isn't what you wanted it to be. they are all really good movies. so stop complaining!
Star Wars movies are good when they're about Star Wars.
When they're about modern social politics, then they're bad.
yes but some people say the movies are terrible because it isn't what they expected and so they don't give the movie a chance.
That's a lazy mischaracterization written by people who liked the political interjections to minimize the criticism.
what? please dumb that down for me.
I said people who claim the critics "didn't get what they expected" are usually people defending the politics.
Really hope ep8 and 9 will be as dark as Rogue One
Bad news
Ep8 was an utter failure
@@phoenixwyvern355 still better than solo but not by much.
As they stand up behind their cover and freehand their blasters...come on, man.
This actually fits perfecty.
THE SICKENING SMELL OF A LIGHT SABRE BURNING THROUGH HUMAN FLESH.
That was amazing! I couldn't think of a better AMV.
This is very good!
Excellent
Far from their land as they made their stand
They stood strong and the legend still lives on
0 BBY the civil war rages on
A rebellion is trapped in Sacrif
Under fire there's nothing they can do
There's no way, they can get a message through
Suffer heavy losses as the battle carries on
Ground troops standing strong
Far from their land as they made their stand
A disregarded demand
It's surrender or die and the stakes are high
They live or they die, there's no time for goodbye
Weapon in hand, they made their stand
Still disregarding demand
They would never comply, they would rather die
Broke through the shield, then the Death Star came
Friendly fire munitions running low
The supplies, they were dropped upon their foe
0 BBY the war still rages on
The battalion still trapped in the Christophsis
Chose not to surrender, they chose victory or defeat
Fallen brothers resting by their feet
Far from their land as they made their stand
A disregarded demand
It's surrender or die and the stakes are high
They live or they die, there's no time for goodbye
Weapon in hand, they made their stand
Still disregarding demand
They would never comply, they would rather die
Broke through the shield, then the Death Star came
Far from their land as they made their stand
A disregarded demand
It's surrender or die and the stakes are high
Live or die, who tell there's no goodbye
With weapon in hand, they made their stand
Still disregarding demand
They would never comply, they would rather die
They stood strong and the legend still lives on
Suffered heavy losses through the great war they stood strong
But the memory of the fallen still lives on
Far from their land as they made their stand
A disregarded demand
It's surrender or die and the stakes are high
They live or they die, there's no time for goodbye
Weapon in hand, they made their stand
Still disregarding demand
They would never comply, they would rather die
Broke through the shield, then the Death Star came
just saying, where the fuck did that star destroyer go once it destroyed the shield? to my understanding the shield is part of a circut with the station....
so when the station broke, the circut would as well, leading to those massive ships to plummet to the base below
You can see, both when the X-wings are diving for the shield-gate, and when the characters on the ground are looking up, that the shield-gate is not directly above the station ... maybe for that exact purpose?
Insanecrusader Does it matter? The base was blown up by the Death Star shortly thereafter.
Memoriable please make more vidoes i needed that thanks silent soundwave.
LIBERTY DIVISION STANDING STRONG!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks
Really stating the obvious there
It's so sad that fan projects like this far outdo anything that Disney can do even if its just a music video
Normaly i do not like metal, but with starwars in the backround it sounds good :)
Best battle scene in the entire series best movie too.
Please leave a comment for the sake of my ego. okay
Sure
My a wing computer still works aces in air we can easily beat Russia soviet union
Unfortunately... They are gone!
This song is not fot the rebells or the impere it s for the stoormtruppers that they will never complai they will rhather die they are the real heros
This is a good music video but the Battle of Scarif was based more on a Vietnam War Battle than World War 1, however the song does go with the lyrics of this song so eh win win.
A bit out of context, but the song does fit well enough.
this. is. epic. thanks a million!
Okay, now that was pretty damn kick ass.
Pls make a Star Wars tribute with Midway!(and send me if u do)
Here you go: th-cam.com/video/LylJwb_pwNw/w-d-xo.html
This was 10x better than the force Awakens.
Excellent editing work!
0:52 is amazing
Thank you, that's probably my favorite part.
also the scene with K-2SO. Him slamming the troopers around matches the beat very well haha
Well that just great. Thank you for that.
*leaves comment for the sake of your ego for the second time*
Why thank you! x2
I still dont understand why they blew up scariff. The empire had pretty much won the battle they could have just secured it.
good enough for me
Personally I assume that it was Tarkin's way of "legally" killing Krennic so he could take credit for the Death Star,
I lost so much Scariff had tons of imperial records and there were still troops on the ground. I get that Tarkin is the most evil in star wars but i feel like he would still try and hold scarif at all costs
Power corrupts, Absolute power corrupts Absolutely.
Tarkin knew the base had been compromised and could happen again. By blowing up the base Tarkin could potentially keep all knowledge of the Death Star and all other weapons to himself. Had it resumed to exist other rebels could come and more secret weapons would be compromised.
0:53 for the good part :)
Beatiful beatiful as hell
Poor troopers, having to fight such an aggressive and ruthless force, sadly failing and bringing about the murder of millions on the Death Star,#RIP Empire
It's equally justified for the destruction of one planet.
If you look closely, the rebel U Wing crashes into a group of Stormtroopers.
