i don’t speak irelandic but i know all the lyrics, im so in love with this song, that’s my favorite one i’ve been listening to for the past half year straight on repeat every single day. this song is so special for me
If I was to randomly walk near the stage and hear the beginning of the gimmick, I would instantly stop my conversation to listen. Insane emotions and I don't even understand a word
It was originally an Icelandic live poem about springtime in Iceland's oldest birch forest. It was made into an upbeat pop song in the 60s which was really popular and JJ heard it often when he was younger. He changed the melody and slowed the tempo right down and created one of the most beautiful pieces of music I think I have ever had the pleasure to hear
@@Toothpick91 just imagine sitting so close to the stage to only hear the entire song in your left ear while your other ear can hear the munching of crackers from the guy on your right
This song was originally released in 1966 in Iceland way before Kaleo made their version of it, the original version still gets played on radio from time to time too so I think we can understand why the audience is not 'taking it in' as much, they are probably mostly drunk too.
It took me four days but I was finally able to learn this and my boyfriend is learning it on acoustic. Such a beautiful song. Lol never spoken Icelandic in my life. It sounds amazing.

Is there a vague translation? My gosh… this song still makes me just want to ride around the country side. I would be honored to know what the words are or what it means? I even cried at y’alls concert a few years back at The House of Blues Orlando.” Y’all sounded better live 🥹😭💕🥺
@@larionthebeach If I am not mistaken Icelandic is closer to old norse then Norwegian or Swedish while modern Norwegian,Swedish and danish is closer to modern Germanic at the exception of the Faroe island dialect. Due to Norse invasions of Britain by the people living in what we now call Norway,Sweden and Denmark, English borrowed words from their dialect so this makes Norwegian,Swedish great stepping stones for any one who knows English. My first language is french and I have a easier time with Norwegian then I do learning an other Latin language, but to be fair modern french is kinda far from the other Latin languages

One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.
I absolutely love this song.
One of the most underrated songs in this fucking world. Amazing.
Yes 👍
My god I can't get enough of these guys.
I can’t explain well but this situation itself (including laughter and a rough image quality ) is making it kinda nostalgic and sentimental.
I cant believe how freaking good they are live!! Really, absolutely beautiful.
JAYSUS. I have listened to these guys for two years, but I never looked them up. JJ is GORGEOUS! Mother of god!

Uma música fantástica
How does one speak during this song?
Exactly. How is possible not to know how lucky they are to even be there, in front of that amazing voice.
If I was to randomly walk near the stage and hear the beginning of the gimmick, I would instantly stop my conversation to listen. Insane emotions and I don't even understand a word
I'm absolutely in love with his voice 🙏🏼😍😍
I am singing this for my school talent show.

yeah what the hell, throughout the whole song too! if I were there I would be in awe
Obviously heathens who dont appreciate great music even though it's right there in front of them.
This is was at "kitchen party" fm95.7 so people were really drunk. And this was before KALEO were really known, people didn't realize what they had.

VOR Í VAGLASKÓG
Kvöldið er okkar og vor um Vaglaskóg
Við skulum tjalda í grænum berjamó
Leiddu mig vinur í lundinn frá í gær
Lindin þar niðar og birkihríslan grær
Leikur í ljósum lokkum og angandi rósum
Leikur í ljósum lokkum hinn vaggandi blær
Dagperlur glitra um dalinn færist ró
Draumar þess rætast sem gistir Vaglaskóg
Kveldrauðu skini á krækilyngið slær
Kyrrðin er friðandi, mild og angurvær
Leikur í ljósum lokkum og angandi rósum
Leikur í ljósum lokkum hinn vaggandi blær
Leikur í ljósum lokkum og angandi rósum
