5:45 It's called Cougar due to a lot of cars being internally called by their IRL counterparts. The Virgo is a Mercury Cougar.

That beta Blista looks nice! Same with the beta Infernus; the final one looks so goofy and the proportions are too big.

About the train, I heard somewhere it was actually meant to be there, but it was cut because it didnt fit the game atmosphere. The map also isnt very big, and there are many bridges connecting the main two islands, so it wouldnt be much faster way of traveling. I wouldnt use it, not sure if someone would. However I dont remember source of this and cant tell you if it was just a speculation because of train files. However in GTA1, there were trains in Vice City. So take my opinion only as a speculation or rumour. I guess we will never find out unless developers come out with truth

I remember seeing the original Infernous design in a magazine before the game was released and being hugely disappointed that they changed the rear spoiler. I know the did it because they didn’t wanna be sued but still
I played every gta from gta 3 to gta 5 and i used to be a modder so i used to look up tru the files all.day long never found this. Great video man loving the chanel so far

I wish they didn't change the ride height of the cars for the final game. They all look so much better when they're low. Particularly the Banshee.

I can't say the same for the Sentinel, though (despite me thinking its front end was a BMW copy back in GTA 3). I don't know BMW models all that well. Other than that, GTA copies are usually pretty easy to spot if you know the cars they took "inspiration" from to make them.

***** Copyright can only be claimed if the Car's Real Name, and/or the company's name is mentioned on said vehicle. For Example you can have a Lancer Evo VIII, remove any mentioning of Lancer Evolution VIII, Mitsubishi (Including Logos) give it a name "Knight" and you dodge a bullet, this is how the "Commando" in Black Ops can get away with looking like the real life Colt Model 727 Rifle, because The real name of it, and the company isn't mentioned.

Yup. There are some beta vehicle mods, like Almost610's Beta Blista Compact mod. There are even packs, they are available in GTAGarage.

The Police livery was changed from Miami Beach PD (Beta) to Metro-Dade PD (Final Release). Metro-Dade was and is the largest police agency in South Florida, so it made sense.
No one gonna talk about a flying car that was in Vice City?

wonder why they removed the infernus rims from the game, they looked so cool on the beta, much more detailed
motley17cru ps2 hardware limitations. OG Xbox version had a overhaul in textures including rims that look similar to the beta ones but better more detailed.
That rims reused in GTA SA.
Those wheels were ugly for the car
@@McNuggs- No, San Andreas uses more detailed wheels than these and the PS2 can handle without problems.
The Xbox versions come out later, thats why looks better.
You can find white police car at Little Haiti (left of Mitch's biker club where is Hotel, parked with other vehicles) and Ocean Beach after beating game 100%.

One thing to note with the Kuruma in the game files, it may have been a left over asset and I do mostly agree; But they could have had other plans?
Look at the Banshee from GTA III, this is based off a Dodge Viper which didn't exist in the 80's so they made it based off a Corvette in the 80's.
If it were to appear as anything, it's probable that it'd be a mid-80s Honda Accord, like the Hakumai from GTA 4.

i think the vcs sentinel is the first variant, that's why the beta sentinel looks like the vcs sentinel and the xs is the facelift model that was used in the vcs and vc
Such a shame that the infernus has been heavely changed. The beta Version was much much more better, much more similar to the countach

All of these vehicles are entirely modable by Maxos Vehicle Loader. It doesn't replace the ones that you currently have in game aswell so you have the beta and the current vehicles in game driving and spawning anywhere.

Our (the USA) Coast Guard never used the 206. Although, Canada did. We have used the S-52, HH-19G, HH-52, HH-3F, HH-60J, the AW109 known as Mako, tested the MD-902, and may be using the S-92 soon

Coastguard Maverick was removed from not just Vice City, it was also removed from San Andreas and VCS
There was coastguard maverick in SA? Possible theories:
-It was removed because there was another CG heli
-It was swapped with CG heli
Zi X Also in VCS there is an artwork of a blue Maverick with a red stripe which doesn't appear in the game.

ps.i can see why vice city dint add the dead dodo. it was too small of a map with nearly nowhere to land the plane. do yeah. only thing im mad at is the coast guard heli being removed. it was also removed from vcs again.
oh yeah and songs have returned on steam. at lease on my version. it annoys me so much because they dint tell us songs would be removed on the psn version. i bought it and was disappointed alittle bit. its why i still play the pc version. my laptop can handle it on high settings

it was removed from SAN ANDREAS BETA TOOO.A LOT OF PEDS,FROM 425 VEHICLES IN BETA NOW GTA SA HAVE 195 OR SO AND FROM 150 WEAPONS IN BETA NOW ONLY 30 WEAPONS WITH 2 RIFLES .AK47 AND M4 .REALLY SO FEW RIFLES .THAT IS WHY I PREFER GTA 5

I think that most of the cars looked a lot better in BETA because they've looked more original and cool. Look at changes, the models lost A LOT of realistic shape and exciting look. Especially the sportcars are way worse in final version...
Beta Infernus is really cool.
I don't know how is in RAD Game Engine, but in Unity, if you build the game as Beta, then you need to write over the last save. And, R didn't deleted the old entities, as the train is, and just disabled it from code. Same for Beta things.
Is it me or did the infernus doors used to open upwards in an early version of the game?

Its funny how R* seemingly cared about copyright laws back then and debatably ruined some car models in this game over it, meanwhile now they drop practical exact copies of cars in their highest grossing largest game ever. God forbit we had a car that could be mistaken for a countach or a CRX in vice city, meanwhile now we have a literal EK hatch that they just call a kanjo & no one cares

I noticed that all the beta cars had cool unique 3d rims, instead of some 2d ones that were reused on multiple cars.. Especially the Blista Compact
The 3D rims probably had to go in order to keep the frame rate from tanking when multiple cars were on screen.
Some beta car badges come back in remodeled more poly cars model in Xbox version . Badges comeback to Taxi and Police car ;)

I think they changed the cars because the beta cars look JUST like the cars they are based on so I think they had to change it a little to prevent copyright issues or something
