we deserve better than subjective reviews with little testing equipment or experience. thanks for advancing this genre along with the industry. that said these are a tough load to power and a bit pricey but they look great on paper.
im lucky enough to have heard these speakers a ton, as I work in HiFi klubben, and I love these speakers. It did take a while to find the right equiment for my personal preferance, but I found that purifi amps(big shock) sounded very good, but my favorite was Hegel :)
Distortion, IMD and directivity is kind of meh... hard pass to me, specially the directivity in the tweeter is really bad from 5khz to 20khz is just really bad.
Regarding imaging: "You can't make these things appear if the recording doesn't have them." ---But where a band has been recorded with separate microphones, isn't the "soundstage" done at the mixing console, and thus arbitrary and be rearranged at will?
SPL and distortion levels are quite frankly excellent , and as always I thank you brother for such an unbiased, subjective overview. You are " The Professor " of speaker testing. Peace bro!
I’ve got a few other speaker reviews which use this speaker. Selah, March Audio and Buchardt. Just search my channel for them if you’re interested in seeing those reviews. There’s also a looooong thread on diyaudio about using Purifi drivers in various designs if you haven’t already seen it.
I am still not convinced that any of these damn foil drivers (AMT too) can take 1 Watt RMS of pink noise (third-octave wide) without generating massive distortions! (non-harmonic noise) You can easily detect by ear! (with appropriate filter of course like 2000Hz/18db per oct) The truth must be revealed ....
@@ErinsAudioCorner Sorry , while I understand you must please your professional/engineering soul , there is more out there than KLIPPEL KLIPPEL KLIPPEL ... (repeat to infinity and compose a sing-a-long-song) ANYONE can download somewhere a few pink noise files with third-octave bandwidth (beware of MP3 files producing digital artefacts) and give it a listen! Obviously YOU have a problem to accept anything other than your own limited view! I am just suggesting to make a simple test , what's wrong with that? regards - the DIY crowd out there is waiting for an answer!
Thanks for the review! So with base sensitivity being only 83dB and low impedance that would require quite a beefy amp to get 102dB out of it, huh? 200 Watts? 400? I checked the vendor homepage but did not find a power number for an amp.
Measurements as expected 👍🏻 I wouldn´t state high-end crossover parts but rather decent and adequate 😊 I appreciate your take on things but somehow your data alone is not telling everything about tonality, Anyway, I understand you rather stick to the facts 👍🏻
Great review! They compensated a narrowing directivity with an upward frequency response. I would have preferred constant directivity and neutral frequency response.
Erin, crazy suggestion that I discovered that is super awesome to demonstrate a wide soundstage....R. Kelly Sex Me Pt.1/Sex Me Pt.2 from his 12 Play album. Yes, I knew he is trash human. But the beginning of that song and the beginning of Pt.2 at about 5:15 to 6:00 is fun as hell. Make sure you catch the zipper sound!
Depression did this to me as well. Cars were all the same with four wheels. Bikes just two-- what's the point. Getting on something that worked for me made a HUGE difference.

Thanks for the review. I've been looking forward to a review of these.

Nothing is tough for class D.
Great review, keep up the good work.
That 2 ohm load is going to be rough for some amps.
Those compression numbers are really impressive.
The compression testing is impressive.

These are good speakers, period. Build by pro’s
They better come out swinging with a price like that !
Excellent review! Impressive performance. Unfortunately not my cup of tea in terms of looks.
Danish speakers are usually nicely detailed but refined and not aggressive...
I was hoping someone was going to review these soon.
Looks like a well built speaker. But for a steep $ 4000 there is a lot of choices.
Distortion, IMD and directivity is kind of meh... hard pass to me, specially the directivity in the tweeter is really bad from 5khz to 20khz is just really bad.

Right. But it’s still “baked in” to the recording.
I hope you get to review the new q series from kef. Maybe the concerto? That would be great! (and compare them with the ubr62 from elac).
good and very informative reveiw as always erin! hopefully you also get to review buchardt's new E50 and compare to these speakers
Great to see another company using purifi drivers.
Hope to see some omnidirectional speakers are Made than routine bookshelf.
Always appreciate/enjoy objective measurements. Not inexpensive, but seems worth the $ for what you get. I'd like to review those myself!
Great review. They're good speakers too for first release

Thanks, man! Nice seeing you here again!
I was searching diy project using purifi drivers, and accidentally land upon this speaker launch. And egarly waiting for reviews.

Hey Erin, would your Arendal affiliate link work outside of the US? Thanks for another great review.
I think so. Thanks for asking!
Waiting for mine - tomorrow =)
Yay!!! =) Nice to see this coverage here. Thank you.
It’s a killer speaker. I imagine you’ll enjoy it.
Thanks for the video👍🏻
Thanks Erin great review. Have you recorded video of Vandersteen Treo speakers?
I haven’t. Might not. If I do it’ll probably be a livestream.
Can you compare these to perlisten 4sb (yes, different price)?
Better check the Sun Audio Purified 4 XP25B , best PIR so far.
Great video!!!
Thanks...🙂
That's a cool speaker design. Interesting. Thanks!

I showed you they take more than 1w in the multitone data. 👍

Distortion at 2k, 1~2 ohms, pass.
Erin, well done, we need objective standards!
You can improve the imaging with $20k cables.

🙄
With Purifi in the loop, you know the next step is to offer an active version of these speakers. I'll wait.

What would be telling everything about tonality, then? I'm sure Erin will try to step in if you explain to him what is needed.

Constant directivity with flat on-axis will sound bright in-room.

Do we have to?😀
Another box bookshelf w/ two drivers. Wow. 🥱
