That thumbnail isn't part of the conversation at all and is pure clickbait. I thought you guys were gonna actually talk about the hype around the game and not just hit people with a PR talk about "Yeah, we DO test video games".
I hope the game does well. I'm kinda in a thought of "Man these guys really showed this game off too early and it's starting to feel like Silksong at this point." though, and am hoping we actually get some news about more characters. But that's just me being jaded at fighting game devs whenever it comes to long stints of radio silence.
Contrary to SilkSong, we've had play test, trailers and Dev updates. I think its unfair to compare it to a dead silent project like HKSS.
We got vf and city of wolves this year, are you trying to make this game fail? Fighting games have extremely small audiences. They need to make sure it comes out during a window without 5 other fighting games. Silksong will have 0 competition regardless because of its genre

Played the alpha, did not use retreating guard, pushblock or counter and blocked just fine. You need to fill the mentalstack but if your newer like me, you might not use everything at first. ( i won alot)
Hope they keep all these mechanics in the game. I was looking forward to improving :D
yeah, even in strive I did not use any roman cancel, pushblocks and stuff like that and got to like floor 8 or 7, they should maybe leave them from basic tutorial like strive did I believe

Glad they're not afraid to keep mechanics and mental stack high. The simple things can still get you a fun time, but it's so fun to see something and figure out how to incorporate that into your own gameplay when you're ready. So excited for more news in February! I can't wait to play it again.

I'm sure this game will inevitably reach the phase where one team is too busted not to play, like Lightning Loops all over again.
I'm sure it'll involve Jynx somehow. Zoning really buff in a game with limited gap closing options. The highest skill ceiling characters also full to dead the most so I'm sure it'll end up just being Zoner + High-Skill like Yasuo or Ekko or Ahri or something.
MVCI had answers to zoners by having perfect timed push block to reflect projectiles so I wonder if 2XKO would take that route...

Nope don't hate your decision at all. Once hearing that it's a tag & playing that Playtest it killed all hype for me.

As a casual , going to 2v2 told everyone exactly who their audience was. 2v2 does not appeal to casuals , I hope they allow a 1v1 mode.

Are casuals the target demographic? I feel like making a casual-friendly FG was the initial plan, but they realised that by reskinning Rising Thunder they were just making a Fantasy Strike clone and pivoted away from the idea, hence the ridiculously long dev cycle this game has been stuck in and why Seth Killian left. Pure speculation on my part, obviously.
I played a lot of 1v2 matches, it’s an interesting dynamic when one of the players is easy than the other one is better than me but he’s down a stock because of his buddy and I’m barely winning. Blaming my loses on my opponent’s being plural feels like a noob trap

Why doesnt the game have unlocked fps? Animations locked to 60 with no interpolation between keyframes is silly in 2025. you guys realize its not 1990s anymore? im playing all the competitive games at 240+ fps, going back to 60 is like going back to stone age.
i wont be playing any game in 2025 at 60fps, not even a single player game (which id say 100+fps is at least needed for me); and we're talking about a competitive fighting game here, 60 isnt enough, heck 120 would be barely acceptable, and preferably id want 240fps minimum, preferably ~500fps on a 4080-4090 setup.
And before you say 'DonT YoU KNoW HoW FraMe DaTA WoRks' (which ive had said to me already) - check what 'tekken 8 overlay' is because i can get 500fps on tekken 8 and i love it, im not going back. Id rather quit playing fighting games than quit playing at 60+fps. Theres plenty of games out these days and im not stuck in fgc, if you ever want my money better get on that fps unlock.
I hope 2XKO eventually lets us swap out special moves on characters to allow for different builds/playstyles.
Their groove system is cool, but expression would really take off when with visually different setups on the characters archetype.
thats not a good idea. player expression in that game is already probably the best of any fighting game, we don't need characters doing something they don't do aka no windwall on ekko
