Ain't gonna lie,I shed a tear because of the exact same reason. That's what our neighbors did for us when grandad got down and couldn't farm anymore. Eventually we leased all the ground but if it weren't for the help of even the neighbors who didn't like us lol, we would've been ruined. This is the thing about rural living that is the hardest to convey to people. Mostly I hope they never know because I protect this way of life very selfishly because it's so misunderstood and so important to me. It's good to see these kids now carrying on traditions and sense of community that I experienced as a kid some forty odd years later

You're good to me, I'll be good to you. You need help, I'll lend a hand. We don't have to see eye to eye to just be good to each other. I can be on bad terms with someone, and will still go out of my way to help them in a time of need. I know what it feels like to be helpless. I also know what it feels like to have a stranger help me back up. I don't want anyone to ever feel the way I've felt before - so I do my best to help where I can. We need to continue to come together and build each other up. Period. That attitude is what I miss.
Back in the 80’s when my Grandpa was having some health issues, he was able to get the crops In but not able to harvest and all of the neighbors and the neighboring Amish came over and told Grandma to not worry bout a thing, they had it covered and they did the same thing. This is what farmers do for other farmers when there’s a time of need. The rest of the country needs to take note and learn from Laura and everyone else in this video. And they do it without asking or expectation if money or anything else!! This is what we as humans are supposed to do when another is suffering but everyone has but farmers have gotten away from this and it’s all about what’s in it for me. In the Midwest it's still common. Out west, the corporation farms from commiefornia are buying farms in western states and now help isn't available. They think farming is all about their profits and if small farmers have to sell, they just by the land.

Just last week, a burning campaign began against the farmers here in South Africa, especially in the Free State province. And we have seen how farmers and non-farmers stand together to help their brothers survive. Thousands of animals dead, hundreds of thousands of hectares burnt down which is very devastating. This is just heartwarming. Thanks for sharing.

That's how we did it back the day in northern Illinois when we had a lot of mom and pop farms. At harvest time we all pulled together and harvested everyone's fields together nonstop until everything was at the elevators. Farms are one huge family.
In a world that's as screwed up as ours is right now, it's good to see this. It let's you see that there is still a lot of good people out there who willingly help one another.

You`re absolutely right. I´m pleased to see the same spirit in American farmers as we see here in Scandinavia. Farmers have their own mindset, it seems - no matter where they are in the world. It is ultimately about saving the livelihood of the community, I guess. I know I want as many of my neighbours as possible to stay afloat.

Rapeseed is also quite common. The northern part of Norway has very little crops at all - but livestock is still held, and the Sami have reindeer herds.

I have 700 Acres kinda grew from 40, in the middle of Michigan. 2 years ago we lost the Brains of the Business. Every morning in a local coffee ☕ shop him and 10 other (farmers?) Got together. But when 250 plus showed up at the service and 1 John Deere Combine showed up, so that made 2 machines and our 4 wagons. That's wonderful to see this happen. That allot of , if you need anything let me knows, of course we needed help? I Give great Thanks to the Elevator and Seed Co. for helping Sponcer ( I Hope I'm Wrong) any family in great need of help.. God Bless you all....P.S. I've been involved in, the if you need help. That's one thing they don't do.
Farmers are always the first to step in and help other farmers in need. Here in New Zealand we have floods and droughts and occasionally excessive snow falls and even the odd earthquake. When the call goes out for help whether it be for feed, rescuing stranded livestock or repairing fence lines, farmers come from all over the country.

I remember as a young man. Our neighbors always stuck together. Even at hunting season. I am still very proud to be a son of a farmer. And they are still at it.

I feel sorry for people that have no friends and neighbors to help when they lose their home to fire or the death of a family member. They will never feel the love that comes from it. Farmers are up 2 hours before the sun comes up every morning to start chores or getting ready for the day and work well into the night to get their crops into the ground and bring the crops in to ship to market! I know I have helped them do it working 18 hour days.

To us it's no big deal because that's just they way things are and have always been....we know no other way, when someone is in trouble you offer what ever help you can give...it matters not if they are your close neighbors or someone 100 miles away....it's just what you do. Hello from Germany! It's just wonderful to see how the farmers help each other. I think insurance is probably too expensive, then nothing is left of the profit. In Germany, too, the price of food is an issue that is actually always carried out on the back of the farmers. And then he can see how he gets along with it. In Germany, insurance is compulsory for anyone who operates a machine or vehicle. But even then there are often problems and not everything is replaced. Cohesion is required here. It's good that the farmers in America know each other and stick together.

I came from farming background in North Dakota and Minnesota. My grandparents and many friends were farmers. I worked on farms. The harvest was my favorite time. This is what I enjoyed about farming and the goodness of people especially from farming. This was a very well done edit as well! For some reason TH-cam reccomended to me a week ago your channel. Might be because I'm heading to Nebraska tomorrow for my TH-cam channel too. I'm doing a series this year traveling around the country to help other carpet cleaners with their business. How ever it was suggested, I have binge watched a number of your videos this week. It brings joy to me seeing such wonderful people such as you showing great living in the beautiful Midwest. Great video Laura. I see a great future for you pulling these things together to help farmers in need. I love when that Case pulled alongside to unload with a little girl in the buddy seat. That's the way to raise your kids. She'll never set fire to someone's property. A future Laura in the making, no doubt!

Well I guess it is similar to how it is on the race track, one guy had an incident and banged up his car and with no way to get it ready for the race. What happened? The crew from his competitors came over, helped restore car over the night to get it ready for the race the day after. The reasoning? "This race is to be decided in the track... Not in the depot / pits!" So I guess the farmers want the competition to be decided in the field! :D
for seeing this late. I am glad that no matter what happened that there is still amazing people out there to help another person. to all that have donated there time and equipment i am not a farmer but I congratulate you for helping another farmer out. and for that I personally thank you for it.
I was a part of one of those once, farmer slipped off combine feeder house cleaning it off and broke his back. It is amazing seeing all that equipment working together for a great cause.
For farmers and ranchers, those who feed ALL of us and whose lives are dedicated to the responsibilities of true stewardship of the land, THIS is as instinctive as any survival reflex. With so much ugliness in the world, this seems like pure goodness. I'm 77 now but grew up on a Wisconsin dairy farm. This brought tears to my eyes.

Similar thing happened each harvest season where I lived as a kid here in Australia - the local farmers would all help each other out with harvesting.

But then again you wouldn't know anything about people helping people without money being involved would you! Gimmee Gimee gimme is all you think about! Farm houses aren't made from cardboard boxes. They are built from real lumber and most are built by the farmers and their families over time! Oh by the way most farmers don't eat fast food! They eat what they raise!
@@anja-leben There is nothing evil about friends helping friends getting their lives put back together. I feel sorry for people that have no friends and neighbors to help when they lose their home to fire or the death of a family member. They will never feel the love that comes from it. Farmers are up 2 hours before the sun comes up every morning to start chores or getting ready for the day and work well into the night to get their crops into the ground and bring the crops in to ship to market! I know I have helped them do it working 18 hour days.

That was awesome! I'm a 'city folk' with zero farm experience and 100% respect for farmers. I imagine the weight lifted off this family's shoulders was tremendous seeing all this happen on his behalf!

Being born and Raised in Nebraska, I understand how no matter what may happen, good, bad or indifferent....Nebraska People Stick Together.
To us it's no big deal because that's just they way things are and have always been....we know no other way, when someone is in trouble you offer what ever help you can give...it matters not if they are your close neighbors or someone 100 miles away....it's just what you do.

It's just wonderful to see how the farmers help each other. I think insurance is probably too expensive, then nothing is left of the profit. In Germany, too, the price of food is an issue that is actually always carried out on the back of the farmers. And then he can see how he gets along with it. In Germany, insurance is compulsory for anyone who operates a machine or vehicle. But even then there are often problems and not everything is replaced. Cohesion is required here. It's good that the farmers in America know each other and stick together.
Only liability insurance (Haftpflicht) is compulsory in Germany as it is in many places. And that would not pay for a torched combine.

I came from farming background in North Dakota and Minnesota. My grandparents and many friends were farmers. I worked on farms. The harvest was my favorite time. This is what I enjoyed about farming and the goodness of people especially from farming. This was a very well done edit as well! For some reason TH-cam reccomended to me a week ago your channel. Might be because I'm heading to Nebraska tomorrow for my TH-cam channel too. I'm doing a series this year traveling around the country to help other carpet cleaners with their business. How ever it was suggested, I have binge watched a number of your videos this week. It brings joy to me seeing such wonderful people such as you showing great living in the beautiful Midwest. Continued success to you guys! I don't comment on many videos, but you touched me with your videos this week!
Great video Laura. I see a great future for you pulling these things together to help farmers in need. I love when that Case pulled alongside to unload with a little girl in the buddy seat. That's the way to raise your kids. She'll never set fire to someone's property. A future Laura in the making, no doubt!
This video brought tears to my eyes but in a good way. This reminds me of a good old fashion barn raising where the whole community gets involved. I have 1 million dollars liability insurance on my house in Hawaii. A prudent move. Reading the reports from scene, this farmer had insurance on machines. This will help him tremendously. I wish the fire did not happen.

This whole tragedy is un called for and getting out of hand, it's so sad people cant have different opinions and just respect another's opinion without all of this. This video so make me want to come out to help. Love my job as a cdl driver for almost 40 years. I think it’s awesome that community comes together to help someone in need. Also very inspiring to see younger people taking up these trades.

Well I guess it is similar to how it is on the race track, one guy had an incident and banged up his car and with no way to get it ready for the race.
What happened? The crew from his competitors came over, helped restore car over the night to get it ready for the race the day after.
The reasoning? "This race is to be decided in the track... Not in the depot / pits!"
So I guess the farmers want the competition to be decided in the field! :D

for seeing this late. I am glad that no matter what happened that there is still amazing people out there to help another person. to all that have donated there time and equipment i am not a farmer but I congratulate you for helping another farmer out. and for that I personally thank you for it.
I was a part of one of those once, farmer slipped off combine feeder house cleaning it off and broke his back. It is amazing seeing all that equipment working together for a great cause.
