man I been following you for years, how the hell do you have it ALL? nice house, nice garage, nice cars, nice rental unit with all the tools. Inspiration indeed
Not that I’m a pro pipe welder or any thing. But you WILL find great results resting your elbows on a hard surface to keep you rod and tungsten steady. It’s like shooting free handed at 1,000 meters. You dont you get a rest and get as steady as possibly. The 6g pipe test is mandatory to get a rest and weld be perfect. And out in the field hanging 75ft of the ground welding a 1000ft pipe run first thing I teach the rookies is to get a rest and never weld free handed. Unless you like cutting the weld out and doing it twice after the x ray test.
I cant wait to hear the xpiped set up. I think once that's on you won't go back. It does sound almost like a ls motor with huge cams in it, but with only 4 cylinders if you get what I mean. Also, your welding has come a long way. good job. 1 thing I would suggest, put something to rest your gun arm on. When you free hand like you are doing most people are not stable enough to not rock back and forth or up and down. So if you put a box or at one point I saw you leaning on the vice, just get something there to lean on and you will notice right away your welds will improve and it won't look like you have high and low areas. Keep it up my friend.
I’ll try that! I was using that vice whenever I could to lean on and stabilize my arm 😅 not exactly where I want to be for welding but every time is a huge improvement over the last 🥳 backpurging has already made a HUUUUUGE improvement
