    We were right next the very noisy A82, sad to say didn't get much sleep with very noisy lorries on the road all night. It didn't help that the heavens opened up. Nice walk down into the village.

    Tebay ( north bound ) are great motorway services plus they have a motorhome / caravan site with electric hook up's , fresh water , waste ( grey & black ), toilets & bins etc. £23.00 per night and you get a £3.00 voucher to spend in the farm shop so pretty good value for an overnight stop on the way up to Scotland.

      It was far worse in Season last year, the Warden crammed us in as a favour without h/u electric ⚡️ for only £17 a night . Prices were crazy, and for a while I gave up on following similar Vloggers such as these . So, watch this space again. We wouldn’t go without being members of the Caravan and Camping Club .

    Poppy and Tara look so cute on the double lead, exploring things. So funny how Poppy is telling you to keep stroking her tummy, she really isn’t interested in the Jackery. Rather expensive for what you are getting but you have a fantastic view. Great video, thanks cheers to you both.🍺🍺

    Hi Bob and Jenny. Lovely to see you on roads that we are so very familiar with - always makes us homesick. Interesting to see the Luss site - it's very different from the days when I camped there as a teenager, or when we caravanned in our early days. Some of the developments of the site and the loch-side pitches are good to see, but the price, with additions for this and that, are really taking the proverbial I'm afraid. Don't think your highlighting the cost, especially compared to the other sites you've used on this tour, is unreasonable at all, and I think most folks will appreciate the heads up on that. It's a site we would have considered on a Scottish trip, but won't now, if for no other reason than just on principle. Shame really as the location is great, but it's just too much extra being asked because of the view. Enjoy the rest of your tour. Thanks. George and Trish. 😊

    Luss is such a quaint little place. Ouch at the price of the site, that really is a top end price, I would have perhaps expected a hot tub on the pitch for that 🙃 But hope you enjoyed yourselves as that’s the main thing and the views are beautiful and is well placed for the walk into Luss as it’s impossible to park in busier times. Good to see you both back in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Best wishes Em xx 😘

    Hi both, lovely looking site, great video. Regarding pricing, this year seems many sites have increased pricing and in some cases significantly. Sites in great locations with brilliant views like Luss are certainly cashing in on staycations, but who can blame them. This could however bite them in a year or two when things calm down and some people go back to holidaying overseas. I have seen sites charging an extra £10 per night for EHU, I don't mind paying what I use for electricity with the energy price hikes maybe by a meter, but £10 is a bit much. Take care and stay safe.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo

    As nice as the outlook over the loch is I don't see anything to inspire me to want to stay at Luss. Besides the extortionate price there was the considerable Road noise and the tired outdated shower / toilet blocks. On our recent tour of Scotland we used caravan & camping sites which were much cheper and better equipped. I can sympathise with you because there's nothing more disappointing when your looking forward to a particular site and then getting that underwhelming feeling, hopefully your tour will improve as you travel onward?

      @@BobEarnshawMoHo Yes. I've been there 3 times now, once when it was a club site and twice, this year and last year since it was taken over and for me it hasn't really changed. Most private sites don't give a discount for solo travellers but this one does. The ccc sites are ideal for me. They average out about £15 for single occupant. The c+m cost more but are still affordable. Apart from my yearly trip to Scotland I mostly visit Northumberland Lake District and North Yorkshire and the CCC seem to have better locations within walking distance of towns which I prefer.

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  ปีที่แล้ว

      Most Motorhomes don't have awning rails unlike caravans, awnings are often attached to roll out canopies using a connector that is supplied for the purpose. We have a Outdoor Revolution Movelite T2 drive away awning, think that's been replaced by the T2R. You could get a Thule roll out canopy fitted and attach it to the awning channel on that. Alternatively a couple of supplied guy lines can be thrown over the motorhome and pegged at the other side. I have made a few videos about my drive away awning.

    Another highly informative video. Keep them coming. One question - If charging the jackery from 12v whilst driving, how do you provide 12v to your satnav at the same time because normally there is only 1 12v (cigarette lighter) output?

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've not really used the 12v charger with the Jackery as it would take many hours of driving to charge the Jackery. I use a twin 12v socket adapter so I can use the sat nav and dashcam at the same time, so I suppose one of those would do. If you do charge the Jackery when driving, make sure it's properly secured, you don't want that flying about in an accident!
