A great game featuring some truly great players on both sides .The Offiah try that really turned the game is still electrifying . Thanks for putting these 7 videos up .What a day it was .
Those days where the sand boys were very busy carrying buckets of sand for the goal kickers. Today the kicking Tees have replaced the old fashioned sand mounts. Otherwise, good to have an archive of videos showing the footy starts of yester years. They were strong and tough. Thanks for providing these videos. Much appreciated. Regards from Buka Island, PNG.
Widnes had a great team back then big name union converts Davies&Offiah, I'm from Ireland and played union, but loved league since I was very young, incidentally I seen the great ellery Hanley playing in Australia for the balmain Tigers .🏉☘🇮🇪
Yeah then they started buying all our best players, people forget who successful we was 3 league titles 7 challenge cups, world champions, 6 premierships which was like super league play offs back in the 90s! Regal trophy winners was great I'd love them to get back somehow! Widnes widnes widnes widnes ha
It’s in Big Jim’s autobiography that some Scouse scallies suggested to Jim that he needed “protection” for his club. He told them to drive over to discuss the situation. Their car left rubber on the road as they screeched away having seen the door staff. I believe it was Jim and Glynn Shaw 😂😂😂
It was better when you could do all sorts of things they have since got rid of at the demand of Australian TV to make the game simpler and faster (not better).

Was in the club house afterwards with All the players as if they were your average Joe.
What a terrific ending to a great season

What did Naughton Park hold. Crowd looks ridiculous!
16,000 @ this game, not sure what the capacity was but it was chocca this day.
#wtid 🏉💪🏆👌
The capacity was 16,800 that day but they let in about 500 more so 17,300 was there that day!
What a side!
I was there alls remember day after Hillsborough great team legends capity was 14 thousands?
Widnes had no injuries ? Tony Myler
Days when all grounds were packed
champagne rugby league football
see wigans youth coming through not wigan full ov local lads
widnes full ov local lads
Hanley and Ged Byrne in the halves instead of Edwards and Gregory. Good side otherwise and couldn't live with Offiah - he destroyed Wigan that day.
my dad went there
Wasn’t the game better when players could steal the ball in the tackle? Current rule rewards poor handling.

Whatever happened to WIdnes? They've vanished, haven't they?
A bit like rugby league itself .
