I miss the indoor version of this event. Sure the clay tournament is fine but I loved that this event was the start of the European indoor season that was one of the best times of the year for the WTA. Petrova had a strange year in 2008. F in Stuttgart and Eastbourne and a QF in Wimbledon but hardly any consistency week to week. Jankovic was playing some of her best ever tennis this event though and she really was the most consistent player on tour in 2008.
It's my pleasure! It seems Auckland blocks matches from being posted, but I would like to post the 07 Auckland F if possible. I'll do other matches from 2008 too.
I have a schedule. My next two matches are RG 04 that I have promised to post since I got 400 subscribers, and after that I want to post other matches Elena won in summer of 2003 and 2004. The Myskina and Davenport matches will come after that
I hated Janković and her game in the second half of that season. I particularly despised her for her wins over Elena at the US Open and Moscow. But looking back now, sure, her game was not something to get excited about, she rarely produced amazing winners, she couldn't hit a drop shot or a difficult volley to save her life, but she was a great athlete and played with a great strategy to neutralize much bigger hitters than her. This match is a prime example. I love me some hard hitting from Petrova, one of the best in the business, and you could see how much more game and natural ability Nadia had compared to JJ, and she still got her ass handed to her in straight sets. PS: I'm even beginning to reevaluate other infamous pushers like Halep and even Wozniacki... Nope, I still hate Wozniacki 😁
I think Jankovic was similar to Elena. Just look at Elena's match against Petrova at Wimbledon the same year - she hit more winners than Jankovic here, but was still at Petrova's mercy. Both of them played better or worse depending on their opponent, Jelena just was more consistent than Elena. If Elena could have been consistent, she might not have won a major, but she'd have more T1 titles and probably number 1 at least. She could have made #1 at USO or YEC so...
Both of them have beautiful backhands ❤ Yelena much

“What do you mean I got the car” lool 😂😂
Chris thanks a lot for the flurry of JJ matches. Do you have more of her matches around 2007-08? I would really appreciate it thanks.

Hi! Can you post the matches of Lindsay Davenport vs Anastasia myskina you were talking about, please?

@@chriscze6153 Oh ok. Thank you for the respond. Have a nice evening ☺️
Do you have any more matches from this tournament?
Is there something in particular you're looking for? Not every match was televised.

What do you mean rarely produced amazing winners? She hits an amazing backhand winner every game :D Elena has no weapons.
@@medusa859 Elena had a weak serve and couldn’t finish points at all
I thought I was the only one. I hate Wozniacki and her boring ass pusher game.
