Congratulations. Yes but was definitely a clean and well kept truck. Never had any issues with it except how slow it goes uphill or moving off from a stop. It definitely made my life easy as a newbie
That camera helped me so much. I didn’t hit anything driving dollar general. It’s really good because when those customers come driving around you with no care, it gets really crazy.
No it wasn’t at all. I just came out of CDL school when I got into Werner. Before you head out with a trainer, they show you the best way to pass the backing test and that was doing a 90 to back in. They test your level of backing and see what you need to work on. After you get off the road with the trainer they expect you to do better so they have you do the same road test and backing, also simulator. Follow the same 90 set up to back or your trainer may have taught you better with the 45 set up. The terminal yards are usually big enough to do the 90 and get in with no issue.
@@JusTruknIt last question I did my hair follicle test Monday everyone else except 3 of us test came back Werner use third party omega did that happen to anyone in your orientation I don’t smoke or drink
@@Triceirap Not for me. That part was quick but I’m sure you’ll be ok. If you’re good then don’t worry about it. Stop stressing it, you’ll be just fine.
How do you like the account so far? I’ve been on dollar tree account n man good $$$ but my back is killing me now, been on my account for 3-4 months now
Didn’t work for me. I left after 1 month at the Bethel PA location and I’m no longer driving for Werner. The money is good on the Dollar accounts but it’s not worth it if I’m tearing up my body to unload those trailer. Right now I make hood money weekly and don’t even have to do too much but drive and dock but I’m OTR now. Eventually your body breaks down.
Kudos to you for lasting that long on a dollar account after a while I’ve heard your body gets used to it. 1 thing I will say though, those dollar accounts keep you in good shape. I was ripped when I left🤣 but I’m happier now.
Im done with training and tmrw ill be doing a smiths training and tuesday idk .. can u tell me what happens besides the road test ? On testing out … is it hard
No it’s not hard because it’s the same thing they showed you when you went in the yard during orientation. Smith system, simulator, road test and gotta do the 90 degree backing in between the trucks and gotta have your 14 day log book done to get cleared.
Yes you have the option to request what you want but most of the time it will not be available. You may have to wait. I requested a freight and I would’ve had to wait so I went with what was available and that was the international.
Hey girl im really happy for you cause you made it i have a couple questions for you cause im about to finish my driving school and i want a be ready and make good decisions And you ahead so 1) are you in this point still happy with werner ? Or regret it?? Cause im thinking to give it a try for my first step 2) can you tell me the info like model of that back camera in case my truck dont come with 3) are only option for a fridge is the werner catalog? Or is more options out there cheaper that can fit ? Please let me know what you can answer i will appreciate it and good luck in your new career 😊
I’m happy with Werner but not so much the account I’m on because there’s several factors that’s making the account harder than it needs to be but Werner itself has been great to me so far. I even had a situation recently and they didn’t give me any issues. I’d rather switch account than to leave. I would like to have at least a year work history with them. The camera I think is called provision. I think this maybe specifically for businesses but you can look into it and others. I saw someone mention on TH-cam that you can use a go pro as a back up cam. You should TH-cam to see options.
Finding a fridge that fits is expensive. I googled and it’s 400 to 500 so if day compromise. Mine is just a tad bit off but I’m able to have enough room to still have a walk area and that’s all I care about. If you can’t find a fridge that is to your liking then get the cooler fridge. Google or amazon will show you various options
@@jlpagan1406 you’re welcome and I’ll definitely keep the videos coming. I’ve been meaning to post about my 2 weeks solo driving but trucking life has taken over😩🤣 I’ll post soon tho. Good luck 👍🏾 on your journey.
Yea they tell every newbie they can request it and it’s useful to have. Where as you still need to have an idea of where you want your trailer to be and how to do it, the camera is so helpful to make sure you don’t hit anything and watch out for people behind the truck. I’m so happy I have it
There’s a strap attached that you can use to hold down your appliances. You probably will see it on the top of the microwave. The metal pc at the bottom of the microwave is a shelf I took from out the cupboard to prevent movement as well.
You can park at the terminal every now and then but realistically there’s no reason to because the place to park would be your DC. Unless you have to take your truck to the shop or you’re at the terminal to shower and do laundry, you would probably wanna be parked where you get your load from. I just needed to park there because my personal car was there and I had to take that home before I could take the tractor with me.
Mannnnnn they set me up big time🤣🤣 my first load was in NY and one of the stores has a tight dock and a tight spot to pick up rolltainers😩😩😩 but I made it. Can’t wait to post this video 🤣🤣
Trust me. I just told someone that Werner is a great company. It just the accounts that can be a prob. Realistically they’re simply the middle man and the clients accounts has to be handled how the clients wants it🤷🏾♀️
@@JusTruknIt For starters I had to share a hotel room with other drivers for 2 weeks while I waited for a trainer. My trainer didn't teach me shit no matter how many questions I'd ask or how much we'd argue. Once I finally tested out and got my truck I was in the shop for at least 3 days a month for the first 2 months, then every month after that I missed a week because of truck problems and was constantly having to clean out the truck and put all my shit in a new one. The truck with all the damn censors and shit would freak out and hit the breaks by itself and nearly have me crash, safety department constantly up my ass about the most nonsensical BS. They pay dirt cheap at 47cpm for OTR. And it usually took them on average 6 hours to plan my next load if I didn't have one pre assigned, which was almost never. So lots of sitting around. I'd never recommend that shit hole company to any new driver.
