During El Presidente's 8.4, Mr. Rocco didn't even move an eyebrow. Pure gentleman in all sense.
He just fed the reviewers free of charge, shocked them with tasty cuisine and had a great satisfaction from it.

I would work for this guy anyday. He's comes off strict and tough but will take care of you and have your back at the end of the day.
He definitely is , as advertised , I worked for him and it was a life changing experience , hard work , professional but he’s charming , loving and cracks jokes.
That's my friend and brother Nick Biondi! Trust me, he's no bullshitter. He probably does fly to miami to support a restaurant. He is known for being spontaneous, and having a big heart. Love the kid, glad to see him supporting small businesses.

This has to be one of the best episodes ever, love the NJ and NY connection.
I've lived in New York for about twenty years now, and I spent the first eight in Astoria, a few blocks from Trattoria L'incontro. I immediately recognized it as the revered institution that it is, tying together the kind of next caliber dining that's part of the fabric of NYC, while staying true to the family based, blue collar roots of the neighborhood.
We all bust Dave's balls here in the comment section, but he's really found something special on the path to near sainthood in his role advocating as a voice for the restaurants of America. He's got countless successful business endeavors and a pile of money that could easily keep him with his head down and the blinders on like the majority of people with deep pockets, yet he chooses to step up and challenge the rest to rise up and do better, finding some light in the darkness of 2020.

Not knowing anything about NYC or where to stay (my only criteria was to have a nearby subway station), I randomly booked my Airbnb for my family vacation 4 blocks away of Ditmars station on the way to Astoria park. Boy did I hit the jackpot with the location. And we did have dinner at L'Incontro as well as other local spots including the food trucks. What an absolutely beautiful area it is.

This is probably my favorite video you’ve done. The long form style, sitting down with the owner and just talking. This was such a great watch. I’d love to come visit this place, seems like a real down to earth guy. And shout out to that dude from jersey that came and bought a bottle of wine while waiting. He didn’t need to spend that money but helped support anyway.

Watching the cordiality of this owner reminds me of back home, in Libya. While you're eating, you're politely inviting strangers watching you to join, you're shouting across the street at a friend asking how their father is doing, a cousin honks as they drive by, your friend's kid walks by and you give him some money to go buy ice cream, and all the while your phone doesn't stop ringing

This place is amazing. Went there for a work dinner and was blown away.
Seriously tearing up hearing him talk about how he has to let his workers go for now because you can tell he's hurting emotionally when he speaks about it. Tough situation for all small businesses, you guys will be ok. Hang in there, the comeback will be something to be remembered.
It's sad and I'm so glad so many of these businesses are refusing to shut down again.

I'm in the catering/entertainment business for 33 years with 26 workers and we haven't worked since March 2020, just hanging on. I live in NY too with one of the worse Governors in USA. Been watching Dave for about a year now, I so appreciate him and what he is doing. A real down to earth guy. Merry Christmas everyone. Everyone knows the rules.

What a guy. I have genuine empathy for people like this, salt of the earth, running a great business bringing character to a local neighbourhood. Making a sincere point of eating out 2x a week going forward, for nothing other than when this covid garbage is over, we'll miss these guys if we don't support them now.

The major grocery store I shop at didn't even mandate masks until late May for employees and early June for shoppers. Nobody got sick in that store to this day. I know that for a fact. This virus is fucking weird.

The level of ignorance with today's young people is just off the charts. I've witnessed someone build a small business and it was torturous. It took over a decade to pay herself. Everything until that point went into the business and even now I think she only maybe pays herself $40k a year despite having a successful business. Fortunately it is considered essential. Dave is right. Once you go through that and then to have the govenrment force you out of business would be heartbreaking. There are going to be a lot of very angry people for a very long time.
