  • The Wahoo Trackr Heart Rate is a new heart rate monitor that strips the features away from Wahoo's Tickr chest strap monitors to focus on delivering something that's comfortable, easy to pair and crucially, is accurate.
Testers Kieran, Nick and Mike have all been strapping on the Trackr Heart Rate for runs and races to find out if this is one of the best heart rate monitors for runners or it's one to give a miss.

Interesting to read these comments. I have a Wahoo TICKR (now my backup) and TICKR-X and wear it daily for workouts. Daily. From one hour indoor cycling to 4+ hour cycling workouts, they have worked extremely well for me. Replaced worn-out straps a few times, replaced a lot of batteries, and have experienced dropout (more like slowdown) a couple times that were fixed quickly by unsnapping and re-snapping. Or forgetting and re-pairing. I personally think many strap problems are user error or user failure to fix. They’re a very simple device. Never had a problem with any HRM (even the original Polar) back to mid-1980s.

I used to have a wahoo tickr heart rate monitor but I found it to be very inaccurate. I’ve since used a polar H10 which has been rock solid, apart from one issue where it sometimes stays on even with the strap off, which can drain the battery. I would be tempted by this, assuming they’ve solved the accuracy issue, but this seems to be over priced for what it is.

Hi Guys...thank you for the great review.... Have any of you ever tested the Coospo chest strap? I got one 6 months ago because tired of the Garmin short durability. I have owned a few and always had to change them often due to the rubber sensor areas corrosion problems despite always rinsing and washing at the end of a workout. I also own a Polar H10 which gives me problems when dropping out of connection with my Garmin watch. No issues with my Coospo H9Z...super accurate... rechargeable sensor(it detatches from the strap), very comfortable strap and less than half the price of Garmin, Polar or Wahoo.... I wear the Coospo 6 days a week (sometimes twice a day when doing double sessions). I have used it since January and the strap is still in great conditions. I also bought 2 extra straps directly from Coospo which were resent due to being lost during delivery. The two straps cost me £ 10 ( for both) a fraction of the cost of Polar replacement straps.

My Tickr X has been flawless, switched to a H10, due to many recommendations, but I miss the Tickr and would like to get the Trackr, but the pricing seems to high for me, given that there are almost no quality of life features.

Feels almost obvious that Polar has to update the H-10 to make it rechargeable. Are there any rumours? Great review. Found it really helpful. Thanks!

I've only had awful experiences with Wahoo monitors. Plus, they have now discontinued the running form metrics on the tickr x just to make the experience even worse. Polar H10 is solid and would not use anything else.

Despite being accurate and loaded with features that ccmpeting brands don't have, and although being myself stuck for years in a Garmin environment, Garmin HRM Run/Pro/Pro+ straps are the God of crappiest crap, as far as quality is concerned. Of course, not being able to change straps when finally done, I spent big money to replace them, so this new Wahoo is very likely to be my next choice (I actually once had a TickrX 1st gen, as soon as it was released).
I'll save a bunch of money, and already using Stryd I'd probably won't regret the (few) missing features if compared to Garmin.

I now have the third Tickr X and unfortunately this one is now also defective. The holder on the battery compartment cover often breaks off and Wahoo has now replaced it twice. I am therefore pleased that the Trackr can be recharged, so at least that problem is solved. Why there are no more running metrics is not clear to me. That is a step backwards. I got the Trackr yesterday and am curious to see how long it will work. I think it's really stupid why you have to use a proprietary charging cable and not a USB C. I got myself a second cable straight away. Because I can well imagine forgetting the original cable on vacation.

Hi, thanks for the Review of the TRACKR HRM. I probably should point out I'm a technophobic !😒. I took delivery of the TRACKR to-day and expected it to seemlessly pair with my Wahoo Roam Bike Computer / App but no joy 🥲, I also can see no light indicators whatsoever flashing on the TRACKR (I assume it comes partially charged ?) just wondering is there something obvious I am doing wrong ?. I've also hooked it up to a portable charger (No plug came with the charging cable ?). Any help appreciated

My Wahoo tickr has gone nuts and sends totally wild information. That’s the second one I’ve had that has broken. Won’t be buying another Wahoo heart rate strap.
