This is dead set the best Ryobi whipper snipper demonstration video I've seen out of at least a dozen. Been planning to buy a Ryobi 18V and wanted to see it in action first. Thanks mate! I wish the other blokes would keep their demos as simple as you.....
I am looking for a new lawn mower and line trimmer. Thanks for the great video keep putting them out. Its one thing to see a slick ad from the people who make it, but seeing a video from a user is another. Great Job.
Thank you appreciate the comment. Ryobi is probably the best bang for your buck as there is 6 year warranty now when you register online. If you want cheaper you can try for ozito 18v, but I can’t comment how they perform as I never had them. Once again thank you for the feedback and thanks for watching 👍🍻
Good review bud! I got the same snipper and I found you go through cord quick and the stock cord is week. I spooled it up with thicker cord and try not to stop so much because it wastes cord. It’s a great snipper now.
Thanks for your comment wazza as I think I forgot to mention this and I did the same thing .I use the heavier cord to rewind onto the spool. Great sniper it’s still going strong . Thanks for watching 👍🍻
Great video - thanks. My 36 volt RLT36 will not auto-feed which it is designed for and this drives me nuts. I've tried many things as well as writing to Ryobi (no reply). Initially I thought it was me doing something wrong so I did not return it for a warranty fix but I realised after a long time that it's probably a design fault. The RLT36 was an expensive unit (made in 2013) so I'm not happy.
It's now March 2023 and Ryobi finally wrote back to me but it was of no help. I bought a new 18 volt Ryobi trimmer for much less and it actually works :-)
I got this snipper a few days ago, with the 5 amp hour battery like you have. Previously I used corded electric whippers, but had bad luck with damaging the cord right near the power lead connection (probably my fault from bending the cord too much). Anyhoo, this thing is a beast with a great run time and with only a single line thread it handles long grass really well. The only change I would suggest to this snipper is the option to retard the line feed. The included line on the spool is really strong and I tend to waste too much line letting go of the throttle instinctively, and so it advances and I hear good line getting chopped off when not necessary. Thanks for the vid mate.
Thanks for taking the time to put that review together. I was unsure about getting this tool but after your review I'll pull the trigger (pun intended). Thanks mate. Great job. 👍🇭🇲
Thanks for the positive comment and its a pleasure doing these videos when positive people like yourself enjoy watching. Very much appreciated 👍 thank you 👍🍻
Hi. Yes I have to agree. Best demonstration that I have come across. Just a question what size string do you use? I have buffalo and I find the 1.65mm is just not strong enough to get through it. I have the same one as you are using. TIA
I think it’s RLT1832X5 this one is the kit with battery and charger but you can buy just the tool on its own if you have the ryobi one plus 18v batteries . But if you starting out get the kit as it works out cheaper than buying everything individually... hope this helps
Your video is far better than the RYOBI TH-cam Channel. Just a quick one, I am contemplating to buy one. Can I clear the whole lawn or only the edges and trimming around the edges? ( I am confused as I am looking to buy one tool that does all). I want to do away with the mowers. Is it possible? Looking forward to your feedback. Cheers Mate!
Depends on the size of your lawn I guess but you are better off with a mower as well as it will pick up the grass cuttings while you mow. You could try just getting the trimmer first to see how you go and if you are happy doing that . I have about 120 square metres of grass and I wouldn’t do it without a mower ..👍🍻
This was a great video, I just bought one put it together easy and tried it out. I couldn’t get the edging the way you did, it wasn’t cutting or taking large chunks. Any hints? What angle did you have the head? Thanks Rachel
Had the head approx 80 to 90 degrees when I was cutting. Adjust the head to where it feels comfortable for you to do this and on the handle have the shaft swiveled to ‘edge’ . On the head of the machine there is a metal guide.. flip this down and run along edge of concrete... hope this helps.. practice and you will get better at it . Thanks for watching 👍🍻
Hi here is the link of the trimmer I got www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-5-0ah-25cm-30cm-line-trimmer-kit_p0209259. I have had mine now for about 4 years and I think it was about 199 when I purchased so they would be more expensive now. Hope this helps and thanks for watching 👍🍻
@@EFFICIENTSELF thanks this model is out of stock every Bunnings. There another one price for $229 comes with 4.0ah . I think i will buy this one as I don't know when the one with 5.0ah will be back in stock. You did a good job show in how it worked in the video.
Approx 15cm is the tallest I let the grass get to as I cut it regularly. It did handle it ok but it did take longer to do as you gotta cut slower .Better off with a petrol (gasoline) version if you let it go too long . Hope this helps . Thanks for watching 👍🍻
I’ve only been sniping as a job for 6 months and going from petrol shindaiwa which has to lines down to this electric ryobi thing which feels like a completely different tool. Have you ever used a normal petrol snipper and how did you get your head around this thing? By the way great vid 👍
Thanks for your comment. I had one of the cheaper petrol trimmers and was shocking to start , got sick of mixing the fuel . The size of my yard was the reason I went the cordless and it’s been great for me. Thanks for watching 👍🍻
BEST DEMO I’ve watched for the Ryobi trimmer. You keep it simple and have helped me on how to edge my lawns. Cheers Bro
Thanks for the comment. Glad its helped. Thanks for watching 👍🍻

Sorry just checked . I have the lawn keeper trimmer line 50 metres roll and it’s only 1.6mm thick .
Great job. Watched a lot of youtube videos on edgers. This was best, for me anyway.

Doesn't this use too much line? I mean waste? Maybe a bump head would be better? Please advise
Thank you for your great demonstration 👍

Not a good advertisement for safety, working this tool in thongs.
l always mow and trim my edges with a line trimmer in thongs also...not🙄
