All I can see is that Ryan is the kind of person who loves acting but hates these junkets, the dry sarcasm is a thing of beauty, dude is so done with the circus and I love it. I hope he get's to talk to Ali Plumb or Sean Evans
Ryan HAS to do Hot Ones. Maybe when he’s promoting Fall Guy. But he doesn’t like to answer compelling or personal questions. So who knows. But it would be a dream.
Funny how he thought he should do the pepper spray reaction different. I remember thinking that it was that reaction specifically that really tied his whole character together for me.
Yeah like I noticed how his dad must have really messed him up. He only reacts to things that are incredibly painful, not so much things that are 'merely' painful. Very interesting character moment. Hope he sees it that way soon
Definitely why the Russos make for such great directors. They give the talent enough room to manuver and improv material but the Russos' have a keen eye for what works. The "it leans Lloyd..." line totally sold me too. I love this film entirely.
i loved the pepper spray reaction, the character treats injuries like a boring but annoying inconvenience and the pepper spray scene really drove that home. It was funny without being ridiculous, just fit really well imo. Personally I'm really enjoying his acting.
Crazy how critical we are of ourselves. I LOVE action movies, and The Grey Man has made it to the top 5 of my list. He was amazing. And watching Chris Evans be a villain was such an interesting spin off and he did it exquisitely too - he was so annoying haha
Ryan is one of those mega-stars of Hollywood but doesn't seem to want any of it. Acting is his job. He's fantastic at it, and loves doing it, but he doesn't care for all this glam stuff to go along with it. I love his personality. Seems like a really cool guy to meet in person!
9:01 “I’m very proud of my Kenergy” 9:12 “I’m of the, like, Marie Kondo style of acting, where if it sparks joy, you do it” I never knew Ryan was this funny and quick witted 😂😂
Ryan's scene breakdowns consist of him pointing out things he wish he hadn't done or had performed differently. Plus, he's still riding that "Kenergy" train through multiple interviews now. ;1
LOVE him! He seems like such a cool guy and I love his dry sense of humor. It's like he seems just like Six in this interview. Watching him react to himself is even entertaining. Sure hope this movie turns into a franchise.
My favorite thing in this movie is how his expression NEVER changes. NEVER. In the whole movie! Well, okay...he does smile in the sequence with BBT, but once he's "SIX", the same blank expression throughout.
Oh, I don't know about that - he doesn't look like a robot. He has little smirks and eyebrow movements and other tiny little motions that in other actors would seem wooden, but he's so good, it just adds to his character. I just LOVE his character's whole demeanor in this film!
I am a huge fan of the Gray Man books and wondered about the choice of Ryan Gosling for the lead. Happy to say that I really liked him as the Gray Man and hope there will be more Gray Man movies.
this movie was amazing, ryan gosling has a great way of playing every character he is assigned to, ive been keeping up with his career since the very beginning and i love all of his movies, this movie deserves so much recognition
I loooove his sense of humor lmao! He is such a chill, funny, nice guy! Must be really fun to be around him! haha This interview was really great and I loved the movie! I hope he plays in more actions movies! Much love from 🇧🇷
❤️Thanks for vast love and support you have consistently been showing me. I really appreciate the unconditional love I’ve gotten from you, which has inspired me to give more sensational entertainment. I’m forever grateful. What country are you watching from?
This movie was the first Gosling movie I'd ever watched, but from what I'd been told, some people thought he was overrated. I hesitated to watch it because of that, thinking it wouldn't be good, but after Netflix kept relentlessly recommending it to me (both because it's their most expensive movie and since it knew I loved movies like it) I decided, okay, I'll give it a shot. So glad I did, it was honestly such an amazing movie and from the first shot in Bangkok with the fireworks I knew it was gonna be great. Ryan did an amazing job and I find it amusing he's in so many movies I'm not typically drawn to but now might watch just for him. Such a cool guy, cool movie, and cool experience to watch. I totally recommend it to anyone curious about it.

Yeah, the first movie of his that blew me away was Blade Runner: 2049. His subtle skill at portraying K just...wow. Then I watched Nice Guys and discovered he's amazing at comedy as well as serious drama. And now I watch stuff just because he's in it. 😂
You should watch The Nice Guys with him and Russel Crowe, it's really hilarious and well done and Ryan is phenomenal and funny. I also recommend Drive, a very particular film where Ryan speaks little but his performance is extraordinary.
7:26 "I was a robot and she was a hologram, so it was limited and it was fun to play people" Mas gente KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK Ryan devia fazer mais filmes de comédia como Dois Cara Legais (The Nice Guys)
I would love to direct Ryan at some point in the future. You can see how his mind is always turning. He really needs to have a bit of control of the editing imo.
Actor is not a consultant. He can throw ideas on the set. Especially that Russo brothers like improvisation. However it is not for the actor to decide which scene goes or not. The director and editor are deciding. Everybody has a specific role on the set. Film is a directors and producers work. It is their piece not actors. Actors have more limited decisions that everybody is thinking. They even don't know in what movie they are playing until the final cut.
Honestly, those bubblicious gums actually have us all chewing the same way at first lol only to die down 2 minutes later and lose all flavor LOL.. Ryan did an AMAZING job in this movie. I wish the emphasis was on him a lot more rather than Chris, but Chris is a larger star so i guess that's why he got most of the shine. Love Cap as a villain
Done watching this movie boy ryan "literally me" gosling was immortal here😅 it was nice he bringing up a new twist in his acting which this bigblown action movie. Now can't wait for his upcoming barbie movie.
Hi Esquire UK, love the content of the video, but a few technical things hurt my desire to keep watching. First, the audio in the movie scenes is mixed too low compared to the interview sound, I can barely hear it when Gosling says trash stache in the scene. The second thing is your camera setups make things a bit confusing, because you're shooting from both sides of the 180 line. It makes it seem like there's 2 different interviewers that he's talking to. Then the decision to have the graphics as questions is kind of weird to me considering you have interviewer sound in there anyway. I feel like your interviewer's banter was good so maybe you could just lean into it.
"I was a robot...and she was a hologram. So...it was limited." Ryan's dry delivery always kills me LOL
What movie was this?
@@Webster132 blade runner 2049
Don’t you just love him
@@mariecohen3052 adore himmmm what's there not to love 😩
Technically he was genetically engineered super human but I digress 🤓
I like how he didnt react to the pepper spray. It lends to the idea of how his dad taught him not to feel pain.
So that’s why his pain tolerance is so high. Makes sense
And he’s been doing his job for 20 years, dude has gone through so much shit he just ignores it at this point lol.
Yeah, he's more annoyed at the cheap shot and the impaired vision than at the pain.
"Just another thursday"
exactly what i was thinking!

Another interview with Ali would be really great. A Hot Ones episode with Ryan would be hilarious and I hope it happens soon.
@@TheDreamingJune now that’d be cool.

totally fit the character. I think anything otherwise would have broken his character
Same! It implied that this was not the first nor second time getting pepper sprayed for me

I wanna see more action movies with Gosling. He was excellent in this movie.
same
u should watch blade runner and drive if u haven’t you’ll like it
I'm trying to figure out how this is considered his first action movie. I thought that Drive would be that.
@@ComedyBros5 I think it's because in Drive, he wasn't doing all these MAJOR fighting and shooting scenes. This movie is REALLY action, wall to wall.
Watch drive

I loved how he couldn’t take himself seriously sitting in that room

Walter Mitty much?
Am I the only person here who isn't Ryan Gosling?
congrats on getting this legend on your show !
Did anyone else notice at the end what Ryan did there…”if you ‘Ken’”. Genius lol
This is definitely one of his best films. The dialogue, the choreography, the pairing of talent, etc.
"I'm very proud of my Kenergy" 😭
The fact that he chewed so much just made me think he loved gum. Which foreshadowed his joke with the niece? It was important.
He's such a humble guy. Just critiquing his own performance. And then there's the driest humour but it's also just so real
words could not explain the emotions i feel whenever he uses the word "kenergy"
LOLOL the piece about the gum is gold.
