I kinda like Giga Gagagigo as the normal monster. Might be 500 less attack, but being a level 5, having Legendary Ocean on field at least lets you summon him so he ain't a brick.
I have thought of three tech options just am not sure how to optimize them cause I’m smooth brain. 1. Water spirit for Crystron Halq plays, but I don’t know what to necessarily do off it 2. Dogmatika punishment sending toad or elder entss to add more going first power and hurting the opponents starters 3. Potentially adding frog engine, but that may be bricky
@@BarelyYuGiOh The only play for Halq that I could think of is the engine to cheat out Mirrorjade but it seems extremely inefficient it would have to be something like this. Run two tuners in deck, Fish Sonar to get a Water Spirit on field combine it with any summon in the deck to get Halq. Halq summon second tuner (doesn’t have to be water spirit, but would probably be best) link off water spirit or second tuner into a link one (link spider or what have you) then on opponent’s turn you use Halq to cheat Muddy Mudragon out and summon Mirrorjade as your “token” non-water monster. Obviously then running the sending targets in extra deck to benefit which idk yet what to add or if this is even beneficial to play.
I’ve tested a lot with fisherman control 3 mystic mine 3 droplet It comes down to die roll with this deck - u have to set up first because if they get 2 negates - it’s a wrap
What do you think of "General Raiho of the Ice Barrier" and "General Wayne of the Ice Barrier". Both searchable via "Mega Fortress Whale" floating effect and Wayne can search the "Ice Barrier" Trap.
I’ve found that I’m not really anticipating that effect resolving too much, although it is nice when it goes off I don’t want to add another potential brick if it’s not needed. There’s another card I have in mind to use as my whale target but I want to get it & playtest it first.
I am not a fan of Handtraps this Meta. Like One ash is often doining nothing 🤔 Instead an evenly comes godlike if you go second e.g. against despia or even swordsoul. against therion/punk it will at least trigger there negate 🤔 so my recommendation would be to play evenly instead of ash. The nib and droll are still a good option in the side against the right deck they will help a lot. Hope you get far Good Luck 💪
I have also been running this deck with 2 lord of the heavenly prisons, and its been pretty good. Helps protect your traps for your opponents turn. Plus you get to set a spell or trap, and if you open something like reef and a legendary ocean (or someway to get it) you have a guaranteed kairyu-shin turn 2 with your maiden on the board plus you have lord on the field as well and whatever spell or trap you set on the field. I really like to think of this deck in the same way that eldlich is played.
@@InfernitBlu88 I say its a mandatory 1 of in the deck for dark reef. I run a more trap heavy, eldlich style, so I run tripple sea stealth, and double reef. You NEED it for dark reef play because you need the umi on field.

Try frostosaurus or aqua matador for some variation in the extradeck...
Also it's a level 4 that can be easily ss and can go into bahamut

I’ve gone down the rabbit hole with Water Spirit & Halq as well. Still trying to crack that one.

I like using there can be only one because you run fish,sea serpent,aqua,reptile and can easily run a warrior too
Judgment is so good. It stops side cards like evenly match, droplets, or even dark ruler.

You can Also play the deep sea city which is a another umi field spell
you can only use 3 umi, and each of these cards are treated as umi and therefore you can only have 3 copies of any of those cards.

I wish citadel whale had umi in the name for sea stealth quick set tbh
I side it with a ton of other cards to swap it out for cards that help me reach things like F0 and zeus

How is Maiden of the Aqua for you?
She’s spicy, you can Kairyu-Shin lock on your opponents turn with using Dark Reef, catches people off guard big time

Dragon Shield Clear anytime I have nice under sleeves otherwise typically just Dragon Shield Standard size
