I literally just got the Osmo Pocket in two days ago haven't made one video with it yet, but I chose the Osmo because it's so frustrating when you're filming something and get a notification or call when you forget to put it on airplane more or disable notifications. I'm more into gear as a Photographer/Film Industry person, but the truth is for TH-cam you really don't need anything but a phone.
That part is frustrating! It's true. For my part, I am a no-notification person so it's just texts that pop up sometimes when I'm filming if I forget to put it in airplane mode (which is most of the time lol). I hope you enjoy yours, it's so much fun for self-filming! I found that filming scenery is still smoother on my iPhone, the stabilization is crazy good. Curious to see if you find that too and what you think of yours when you start filming :)
I returned my dji osmo pocket 3 because I just felt like it was lacking and a part of Me regreted it for months and kinda want to repurchase but you’re right! I don’t need it and I already have all the tools I need, it’s also hard not falling into the pressure of feeling the need to buy new gear with all the new gadgets coming out and the hype around them, thanks for the video!
You're so welcome! The lure of gear is so strong, I'm not even that into cameras and mics but I feel the siren call of all the new stuff too. We shouldn't settle if something is lacking when we have what we need, I totally agree!
So, I’m trying to make more content for TH-cam. But I’m getting frustrated with trying to get my videos from my iPhone into my computer to edit. And of course my computer is Microsoft windows. So iPhone and Microsoft don’t always play well together.
Oh I know, Apple loves to trap us in their ecosystem. It can be so frustrating. Let us know if you find a workaround! I'm really dating myself but I used to email myself files--impossible to do that with today's video file sizes though. Maybe Dropbox? I hear about other creator-editor teams doing that to get videos out.
Agree, I have used DSLR, and a 3 different brands of action cams ... I find iPhone is by far good quality, easy to use, very confortable to handle and in almost all situation and types of shoot. No fuss with lense, settings and color grading shit.
To be honest, iam creating my Videos only in the Cinema-Mode of my Iphone. You can adjust it between F2.0 and F16 and F4 is the best, to get this digital background Blur, and not havin this Fiddeling stuff around your head. It does a pretty good Job in my Eyes. Yes, the Processing goes on my nerves, especially, when iam recording a Video what is 30 Minutes long, it can feel like it will process 4ever ^^. But Its a very nice effect, and i suggest to you, to play a bit with the "F-Settings" inside this Mode. On the other hand, iam using a android phone, what have good Face/Object-Autofocus detections and following the focus on the object. Its nice too. So i can understand why people dont use this expensive Cameras anymore, or dont want to use DJI-Cameras or other dedicated VLOG-Cams. I just switched from my 4K Webcam to my Iphone 15PM and another Android Phone with Decent Cameras and the Results are Mindblowing. And yeah, camera is not everything. Thats true. Happy new year from Germany.
The F-stop at F4...I never thought to try this in the cinematic mode, thank you! Also I didn't know that about Android phones. The quality of smartphones these days is very nice, I agree. I love that with my tripod and the iphone mount, it's exactly the right height to film and I don't have to do anything other than attach my phone, whereas with the other cameras I had to take more time to frame them up. It's nice to find a solution that removes barriers to entry. Happy new year from Canada! I've subscribed to your channel, it will be good for me to brush up on my University German :)
You're cute. I said why and it was not about the image quality. WATCH THE VIDEO. Edit to add: so what if I were in financial hardship? Many people are, especially this time of year. Have some compassion and don't drag people for being poor.
@@HelenAvery I was kidding of course and thanks for being so nice with your reply...didn't mean to offend. But look, I think you're not going to get the same 'cinematic' image coming out of the something like the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 but if you're only going to do basic vlogging and product reviews then I can also appreciate why any recent smart phone would do the job considering how far cameras on phones have come. With the Pocket 3 though - did you ever use the product-showcasing mode as this would have been perfect for what you needed. Perhaps giving it another try later down the track?
Well thank you back for a thoughtful and calm response which I will now thoughtfully and calmly engage with ;) I agree with all you've written here, and I think I don't think I contradicted this in the video. I did try the product showcase mode but it works best going back and forth between a face and a product, it doesn't seem to know how to hold just a single product focus. So then, I tried single focus mode instead of continuous focus, but that didn't work either, I tried toggling off the face-tracking modes, watched a few more tutorials, tried, tried again...and in the meantime could only use clips of footage because of the hunting/breathing punching-in-and-out issues which is so hard on a viewer watching an art process video/tutorial (I have an art channel as well). It was so frustrating to spend days trying to get basic painting footage my iphone or Canon could grab with no fiddling at all. I'm totally open to trying it again down the line, and DJI are very on the ball with fixes so I look forward to either a firmware update, or even just hanging on for the next version which will probably have the tiny DJI Mic Mini instead of the bigger mic. I appreciate your response and it's nice to have a proper back-and-forth as I think it will help someone with the same issue, and your reply may help them see the other side. Be well, happy new year.

Me too audio over camera for sure, I used to use huge dslr and slowly moved on to mirrorless cameras. My latest investment is in microphones 😊
It makes the biggest difference, I think! What do you film with now?

Wishing you a happy and healthy new year 🍀
Thank you so much and same to you! Let’s hope it’s a good one 🥳
You must be in some financial hardship? Why would you go back from the Pocket 3 to go back to a phone with saturated and digital-as image?
