Sorry...not to sound patronizing or condescending, but this is soo cute. How awesome to be able to hang with 1986 Depeche Mode. Sort of already there, but still just before the major world adulation. Really cool
It seems like Alan's words have come full circle considering what he's doing now. Another song writer indeed, Martin is such a genius. And Dave was humble always ,what a gorgeous talented man
Min 2:26... David had no idea DM was to become greater than he thought!! so great and so bad ..that in 10 years from that interview Dave was in prison for drugs..... due to the great success they had during those 10 years...
The fact that the camera cuts to Alan Wilder at 0:54 looking forward when Alan talks about songwriting, is that hinting that Alan would have liked to have been more involved with writing lyrics?
I don't think it's hinting to anything! Alan once mentioned that he didn't feel content with the lyrics he had contributed in the early eighties, so later on he became less focused on songwriting and more on arranging, putting out new ideas etc. When you look at his solo projects now, he also invites other people to write lyrics to his music.
It's not from a documentary, it was a kids TV show in the UK where you could write in with something you always wanted to do, and a few would get selected and shown every week. She wrote in and asked to interview some pop stars (can't remember if she specifically asked to interview DM or not) and this was the segment that got broadcast. As I recall, it was accompanied by the band performing Stripped in the studio as a promo for the single release.
"In 10 years time, how would you like people to remember Depeche Mode?"
"As one of the great pop bands of the '80s." 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
After 42 years. Depeche Mode is one of the great pop band of all time.
🖤 RIP Andy! Saddest news ever! 🙏🙏🙏

yeah, why did Fletch not mention wonderful Alan?
When people were normal
Fletch talks about Clarke leaving and doesn't even mention Alan coming in? Aaaa
he wasnt the biggest friend of A
What is this girl doing now, anybody know.
Fletch, and Gore, always had a great admiration and respect for Wilder, but seems like, it didn't happened the same with Gahan towards Wilder
