      All you do is remove the bottom bolt on the pump with the copper washer and remove the rad cap then dump distilled water in it a couple times to make sure it's all clean them make sure it's dry and put the drain hold back in then roll it back up with Coolant.

    So, do both compartments 1. For transmission 2. For oil. Both of those take the same oil?
    Also, I did exaxlty this BUT i put the fluid in on the left side "/
    I also drained the fluid from The very bottom bolt too.
    What do i do from here?

    • @Justdirtbikes
      @Justdirtbikes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The oil Had Happed to be compatible with both engine and transmission oil. I have been using that oil for years and have had zero problems, i just change it more frequently because the oil wears out sooner compared to a fully synthetic oil.
      The ENGINE oil is drained from the underside of the engine,
      the TRANSMISSION is drained from underneath the gear shifter on the left side of the bike.

      When maintained correctly the 150r is a good solid bike. But what tends to happen is its a kids bike. Kids tend to not maintain the bike because they don't know how to properly maintain a race bike. It took a bit for me to find a bike that was maintained well. I shimmed the valves 1 time and replaced a few dings and dents and my bike is great. If you are going to buy a 150 used I have a list to check.
      The front forks seals and if they are leaking
      The front tire and if the rim weld is holding up
      If the rear swing arm has side to side play/movement
      If the Spokes tight, tap them with a screw driver
      the bolts that go into the swing arm for adjusting the chain if they are frozen
      If the air filter is dirty
      if the front breaks are in spec and working
      then ride the bike testing all the gears
      Accelerate fast and then cut the throttle and see if it back fires
      if the rear fender is broken or has been replaced check if the sub frame is damaged
      Just remember there might me bad gas in the tank or carburetor so the bike might not run good.

      The numbers "10w 40" is stating viscosity the oil at different temperatures,. I use the same oil in both engine and trans because the oil meets all the requirements, the engine and trans oil requirements are in the owners and service manuals. I would check and make sure that the oil you are using meets the oil requirements and if they do you can use them.

    How much it takes oil or what is the maxium capacity is it on some where close a litre

    • @Justdirtbikes
      @Justdirtbikes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The transmission takes about 570ml (milliliters) and if you do the decimal dance, You move the decimal point over left 3 times from milli on the end to base which is Liters. and That is .57 liters. You should like the video check your oil level after you fill 570ml and add if you need any more.
      On my crf450r I just take the can and dump it in till it comes out of the check hole then run the bolt in and ride. I dont think it hurts much if you over flow it.

    • @Justdirtbikes

      The engine oil on a 4 stroke lubricates the crankshaft the piston and cylcinder. The engine oil gets more abuse than the transmission because it is collecting the dirt from the combustion inside the engine, therefore I think it should get changed more offen than the transmission.
      The transmission oil lubricates the clutch and gears in the transmission.
      I would change your oil every 3-9hours on the engine. And 3-12 hours on the transmission. I change my oil every other ride and that's about 6 hours.

    This 4 stroke has trans mission oil & engine oil?

    • @Justdirtbikes
      @Justdirtbikes  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +MyCityStreets It has two oil chambers, The Engine oil and the transmission oil, The engine lubricates the Crank Case cylinder piston valves and the stater. The transmission oil lubricates the clutch and the gears in the transmission. The Engine oil Typically looks a little darker because it collects some of the blow-back that seeps through the piston rings when the bike is running. The trans oil will get tiny shavings of the friction clutch plates making it look like a light gray. That is why I usually changes the engine oil twice as much as the trans oil. But I change my engine oil every 2-3 rides or 6-9 hours of trail riding, and 10-15 hours on the trans oil.

      You can put Honda Transmission oil in the transmission, but if you have ever read the crf150r service manual it says that the 10w-40 oil that I used in this video can and meets all the requirements and certifications to be in the transmission. If the Oil I used was not certified or did not meet the requirements I would never put that oil in my Dirt bike.
