    A little background on Underground Atlanta. It used to be the most popular spot in Downtown Atlanta back in the 1970s. It’s very historical. There’s a portion of it where you can see blocks of buildings and store fronts straight out of the 1800s that were built over by modern development and thus are “underground “ People begin complaining that it was unsafe and dirty and it fell out of favor. Later they refurbished the whole area and it became somewhat popular again. But the developers that owned it sold it to the city some time ago and it’s been pretty much abandoned waiting for new owners since. There has been lots of grandiose talk of what the city and investors plan to do to it. But nothings come of that talk for several years now.

      That is wild! Interesting facts and history of Underground Atlanta! A lot of history indeed.

    Atlanta needs more trees in their parks. Nobody uses em because it not worth getting burned by the sun for a short walk.

      Centennial Park doesn’t have have that many trees but Piedmont and Grant Park are the biggest parks and they both have a huge amount of trees. Piedmont is just to the North East of Centennial in Midtown Grant is just to the South East.

    I know lots of locals and transplants don't like this city but I feel it's very underrated, it looks beautiful and calm! Yes it's not bustling like NYC, chicago or LA, but why do we need more places like that? I prefer more homie feeling type of cities, and coming from someone in the cold midwest I will gladly embrace atlantas warm weather.

    • @dream.machine
      @dream.machine  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Exactly 💯 I like that about Atlanta too. Definitely a pro of Atlanta! The calmness and the urban architecture but also not too urban or congested, but just right really gives Downtown Atlanta it's own identity 🆔

      Atlanta has 3 downtown areas and each area bigger than most cities. Downtown, Midtown and Buckhead and nobody in their right mind walks around in that heat but nightlife Atlanta is fire. Just this past week with Basketball, Janet Jackson and Taylor Swift you could not move a inch downtown. Atlanta just voted best spring break city and world leaders voted Atlanta best city to live. This walk is not even 1% of Atlanta. Atlanta one of the biggest convention cities also. Come for a visit see all Atlanta has to offer. This was a good walk for that part of the city great video keep up the good work.
