Wild Sarsaparilla, a Native Source of Energy and Health:
Much like its similarly named friend, sarsaparilla, wild sarsaparilla, (Aralia nudicaulis) is an amazing medicinal herb. In fact, Native Americans have been using the roots of both plants interchangeably for making traditional herbal remedies.
The roots can be made into a tincture, tonic, and herbal tea for internal use or used as a poultice for external use.
This herb has diaphoretic, diuretic, pectoral and stimulant properties.
Aside from that, it’s also a great detoxifier as it encourages the body to sweat all the toxins out. Wild sarsaparilla can treat a lot of ailments.
Internally, it’s used to treat cough, asthma, pulmonary diseases, rheumatism, and digestive problems. It can also help alleviate toothache and stomachache.
A poultice made from this herb can be used externally to treat sore muscles, joint pain, ulcers, burns, minor cuts, rash, insect bites, and other skin diseases such as eczema.
    Benefits of Wild Sarsaparilla:
    Cancer and tumor growth
    Coughs and colds
Rheumatoid arthritis pains, joint pain or rheumatism
Skin problems, including psoriasis, toe fungus, wounds, ulcers and ringworm
    Fatigue
    Muscle pains or weakness
    Low libido and sexual impotence
    Headaches
    Gout
    Indigestion
    Liver damage
Infections, such as sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis and gonorrhea
    Bloating/fluid retention
    Overheating and fevers

It's only pollinated by bees and I only have 1, so if they make viable seeds for me, I'll consider it acceptance from spirit to keep growing it. Otherwise it will die in the cold. I think they are annual.

I'm soooo excited i finally found partridge pea in the wild! Came straight to your channel cause you always have the most direct useful information 😊
I've yet to find sarsaparilla but i have TONS of what people in my area call "wire weed" (but in other places they call cuban jute "sida rhombifolia") all over my property. I've read that the root of sida rhombifolia can be used as a stimulant as it contains small amounts of ephedrine.
Do you think i could use that in place of the sarsaparilla in an endurance type tincture? If not, what other plants would you recommend as substitutes?
Thanks for sharing this and all of your other plant medicine videos, you are an inspiration and I'm suoer grateful to have come across your channel!

Just noticed this beauty growing in my forest, we live on 40 wooded acres and this is everywhere. I have lots of books on plant medicine and this one was very elusive and hard to find. After watching your video and noticing what it’s used for asking with ginseng, that’s probably the reason why. Thanks so much for this info and when is the best time to harvest? Late Summer or early Fall?

Cherokee Drug (Stimulant): compound infusion given for fainting spells.
Seminole Drug (Antiemetic): cold decoction of plant used for nausea.
Partridge Pea leaves can be used as a natural laxative similar to Senna.
The combination of roots used in the tincture are useful for Energy, Stamina and Vitality.
