Awesome... a new series with a game I love ! Thank you Rakoona ! Some quick tips for new players. - Take your time to practice "blocking" with the animal on the ship. (the blocking mechanic is very important in this game) - What do you choose before you leave the ship? You will soon get "variations" to everything in the box so it's not super important. However, the Navy coat is one of the best in the game. I always choose it and the backpack but it's really up to you. - Use the "Search Box" to quickly find the blueprint you want instead of scrolling. - Build a "smoke signal" when you make a base. It lasts forever and you can light other things from it. - Keep mapping charcoal on you always. Though the mapping trees are made for it, you can map anywhere/anytime. (the higher you are the better) - Everyone wants to make the cave (Grotto) their first base but can't stand the scorpions. However, scorpions hate light ! So if you set light sources all around, they won't bother you. - Don't drink the "Living Water" unless you have no choice. There's just a few in the entire game. (only 4 on the Island of Hope) - Build a Cart as soon as you get the ability. If you carry the basics of your playstyle, you can stay out forever. (& the Cart shows on the Map) Just make "cache" bases along the shore as you go. Then you can swing by in your boat to collect everything once you've finished the loop. - "Important" - If you have a predator that keeps respawning near your location, "don't kill it" ! When a predator takes a certain amount of damage, it will run from you. Take advantage of this and only wound it enough to run away and it will avoid you the entire game. - Last, pay attention to your skills (Survival Points) and use them as soon as they're available. *NOTE: I "Highly" recommend getting the first 2 "Learning" skill points first ! (Learning Rank I & II) **Skills are "NOT" retroactive & are tied to your perks ! You "WILL" loose your Perk Points if you don't get this leveled to Learning Level 4 a.s.a.p. ! Hope this helps ! ~Mu Bonus Tip ! - The water around the starter area has a lot of Sea Urchins and Starfish. Craft them together to make Caviar. It lasts a long time in your inventory ! (coast around the Grotto)
Lol @ 15:00, classic Rakoona! xD

There us indeed rattlesnakes in this game and can be hard to spot good luck
I noticed them, while they had my fangs in my flesh!
