For everyone wondering the speed, the commentator says 'zo een 130 gemiddeld'. That is 130 kph average a lap (not top speed). That is 81 mph average a lap. Conclusion: fast mopets. VERY fast mopets.
Love the Snapsklasse 50 cc - and think about how fast they could race hil hil to the high octane fuel we could get hold on back then - and it smelled good too
Those riders got some balls and abs ..bikes just got to follow the riders throttle and cornering and it was amazing..... but These days bikes got more IQ and ABS than riders ... These bikes have been com-controlled robots instead of our favorite “machine”....
Here in Hoorn in the Netherlands there are brothers Doodeman who developed Kreidler moped further and further till a topspeed of 193 km/h in 2016. I tried to sit on one but with my 1,85 m it was too small for me.
Lovely little bikes.. and capable.. just great fun..🤗.. they squeezed every cc out of these two stroke machines.. would imagine top end rebuilds were common!!!☺️👍.. only 50cc and hitting 79 89mph., some say even a 100mph!!!!!😳✌️☝️

It's crazy to think how fast these things are going while powered by a shot glass sized piston.

Factory Tomos GP 50 in 1982 reached top speed of 204 km/h ;-).

Indeed. The fastest went well over 100 mph. Fastest Tomos 50cc racing bike top speed was just little bit over 200 km/h ;-)
