I used the second to the smallest size corkie and weights 3/4 Oz. But weight is depending on how fast the water is moving.

Sure if your schedule fits in the day I'm going, cause when ever I'm free morning or evening I just go for it. Very busy this time of year. Steelhead head is over this summer,but Salmon is coming in.

I am new to drift fishing, how you detect fish bit from weight bouncing on bottom?

You can feel the fish pull on the line not like the weight bounce down the river. Ones you get a few hit. You will be able to tell the different.
