Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.

Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or trusted advisor in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields.

Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. This strategy has allowed me to navigate the financial landscape successfully, making informed decisions on when to buy and sell. Perhaps you should consider a similar approach.

There are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with ‘’ Melissa Terri Swayne” for about five aiyears now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look-her up.

It's kinda funny juxtaposing the topic of this video with an ad for a data privacy company, because every one of these apps almost certainly makes money by building a spending profile on you and selling that data to whoever wants to buy.

George, I usually love all your content. These apps are not money making apps! Some save you money but you are trading your data for "some savings". For people who are trying to get out of debt pointing them to deals may make them want to spend more than is in their budget even though there is a disclaimer. I'd be curious to see how much money you made on each app.

I think of it this way - merely putting $1m into a CD at 5%, you're making $50K per year. If you can swing that for the next 10 years, go for it. But then again, if you have to pay taxes on this $1 million, you should consider working for another 5 years

I'll try to sound as respectful as possible just because I am somewhat new to the channel but for credit cards, things that I am forced to pay like bills, what is the down side of having and using a credit card? I would like to be rewarded for things I am REQUIRED to spend money on. Never buy something you can't afford to pay in cash, don't keep a balance on your card, pay in full. I understand a credit card is not meant for some people, potentially most people, but I can't understand what is wrong for a credit card used responsibily. Can I get cash back on my debit card? Or is it just the principle of "Oweing someone money" even if you pay it in full. I can completely understand how rewards can incentivise people to buy stuff which is a dumb decision but for someone who is REQUIRED to pay for something like bills what is the downside?

    • @jasonedgar173

Great Question! Hopefully George will hit you up directly. I side more with you on your thoughts about this. But to answer your question:
I believe The Ramsey company and its affiliates take a mindset of cash at all times. They also have stats to support that opinion. Although I cannot rattle off the numbers from the top of my head, the stats indicate that even people who are "good" with their credit card paying it off in full and never carry a balance end up splurging on things they don't need and thus spending more than necessary; robbing themselves from money they could have 1) paid off debt with 2) used to save 3) used to give 4) used to buy something they truly wanted /needed.
Or, in other words, cc end up causing a HIGH majority of users to technically lose control of their spending causing money leaks (large or small). And a big cornerstone of the Ramsey philosophy is knowing and controlling where every dollar is spent.
Another stat they will reference is how cc that are used as a "safety net" or as a way to pay bills ends up becoming (or is high risk at becoming) an excuse to spend on things that are more than bills or emergencies. And this losing control of your money.
Although what you're suggesting is reasonable in in my opinion, and the side I lean towards, technically it does put you at the aforementioned risks.
Remember this idea: 80% of drivers on the roads today Believe they are in the top 50% of good drivers. That means some people out there are being fooled and they just don't know it. Same goes with credit cards.

      Essentially, no.
Ramsey and his crew “teach” people that all forms of debt is bad, even if it’s for a day or two; simply paying with a cash back Credit Card, for things you’d already have been purchasing, and then paying it in full, daily, weekly, etc.
So even using it for items Such as gas, groceries, utilities, etc. are a no-no to them.
In a practical sense, it’s completely asinine; but they’re trying to be consistent, and not hypocritical, basically.
Kind of like an alcoholic excluding themself from even events that serve alcohol, because it’s a temptation
They’d also tell you to get a 15 year loan, at a higher rate than a 30 (which to be fair - is impossible) - simply from the idea that your debt will be paid “quicker”
You have to pick and choose which principals work for you.
