Not to mention factually (not necessarily scientifically) showing the RESULTS of such products used. Before and after comparisons of seeing the inside of an engine.. not science but certainly good enough for the girls I go out with. Would be quite interested to see how the results of all his testing on a small single cylinder carbureted engine compare to a larger multi cylinder engine with fuel injection.
Can you imagine the type of dopey social justice warrior who would complain about him "wasting resources"? Actually he's saving an infinite amount of resources because the million people who are subscribed aren't individually performing the tests
I’m not sure if you still monitor these comments, but I am very happy and I feel very grateful that you started and continued to do these videos. I don’t have a lot of knowledge about a lot of maintenance products or tools and your videos have been so helpful to me in finding products and tools that actually work and avoiding those that don’t. Your tests are so well throughout and transparent and your videos are some of the only unbiased, trustworthy information a person can get about these products. I really appreciate your channel.
Seriously man..., you are one very valuable guy to all of us watching your great videos. Even if we may sometimes joke a bit about how you're testing stuff in extreme ways, we are undoubtedly grateful for the results! I haven't seen anyone else putting so much effort in finding out the truth for himself and sharing it this way with everyone else. It is a costly way to find out the truth, but it is also non-mistakenly the best way to find out the truth about various stuff! Kind regards!
@@ProjectFarm it's not a wast at all I really like to see what's next and love the experiments let's see what this will do etc. I have always tryed things like you do. I used to put ATF in the diesel tank bio fuel with 2 stroke oil and loads moor over the years. You really are great if you went you would be missed big time 👍👍
@@ProjectFarm could you please advise if one litre of Dextron 6 Transmission fluid be used along with 4.5 litre of 5w30 in GMC YUKON 2013 for a full cycle of 3000 miles I have no major issues with engine
I agree. This popped in my recommended by you tube. I watched it and found it interesting. You clearly have a following for what you do and a loyal subscriber group 2.16 million followers when I watched this. You are clearly doing something that a lot of people like. That is seriously impressive numbers. Doff my cap 🎩 to you sir I have watched more of your videos and I really like them. Some very interesting content. Very well put together, no waffle, to the point and clear and concise in your delivery. I really don't like the videos that contain the urm urm urm constantly. I shall be watching more of the previous videos and subscribing. Thanks very much.
It is never a waste to experiment, especially in the way you do where you actually show results. "Conventional wisdom" can get stale and is sometimes just wrong, but we'd never know if we don't test it.
French Canadian, It's always great to hear from you! I spend quite a bit of time editing to keep them as clean and efficient as possible. There is always room to improve. Feedback on ways to improve is always helpful. Thanks again for watching the video and commenting!
Hey thanks for the testing. Very interesting results. It's NOT a poor use of resources, especially since you enjoy it. I feel the same way about my projects such as restoring old machinery that very few folks care about. Please keep it up! I've got a lot of experience with Buick cars from the 80's. We've seen several instances where Buick 3.8L engines will ingest many quarts of Dexron from the transmission of the car. This can happen because there is a vacuum hose connected between the engine manifold and the transmission modulator. If the modulator diaphragm fails, it will allow the engine to ingest massive amounts of transmission oil. In these instances, I have seen similar results to yours. The trans oil acts as an engine flush, cleaning up the crankcase deposits and dissolving them in the oil. This is not a problem on well maintained engines. However, if the engine has not seen regular oil changes, or the filter is already blocked with debris - the cleaning action can cause too much debris to break loose and begin circulating in the oil. In one case, it caused the engine to fail rod bearings. This happened because so much debris circulated it actually blocked the oil feed holes in the main bearings from the oil gallery in the block!
Thanks! They went to the vacuum modulator system on the front wheel drive GM cars when the 4-speed auto transmission was introduced (1985) up until the late 90's when they went to the electronic pressure control using 4T65E. Even though the modulator is very reliable, there are a lot of them out there so the law of averages says there will be incidents! You can see the smoke cloud for miles when this happens!
Great point! Breaking up the gunk, and emulsifying it in the oil is great (think dishwasher cycle), but getting that suspended stuff out of harms way soon is very important (think sand in your shorts!). I prefer to never apply the "set it and forget it" crankcase cleaner additives, and do a compulsory oil change after a few dozen miles (
You are so thorough and practical I can’t take it. Don’t listen to the haters, bro. You’re answering the questions everyone’s been asking for ages. To strive, to seek, to find, and NEVER to yield!
Great video! No nonsense, drama, gimmicks, or clown show. I really appreciate people like you who take valuable time out of their day to help others with factual information without the silly frills. God Bless!
Not a poor use of resources! This is hands down one of my favorite series on TH-cam! You're bring to reality answers to questions that I and others like me think about but don't ever actually do! This is immensely interesting
I have no clue how I ended up here as I don't even own a mower but this was a well produced video. Straight to the point without 15 mins of extraneous babble.
smokiethebear912, Very cool youtube profile name! Thank you for the encouraging comments regarding the video. I appreciate the feedback, and it's helping me improve the content and quality of the videos. Regards
I'm wondering the same thing. Especially since I don't believe in this seafoam product or believing there is any need to keep the combustion chamber clean. All you really need is fresh oil, a clear fuel lines and clean spark plug
smokiethebear912 carbon build up can cause hot spots that can in serious cases leadto predetenation. and also cause pistons to fail in high compression engines due to the heat being concentrated in a small area weakening the piston and burning a hole through. If enough builds up on the edges of the Pistons it will cause scaring in the cylinders allowing combustion pressure to leak passed the rings contaminating the oil
I'm so sorry that you felt downtrodden from those comments from others about you using your own resources to educate yourself and other eager learners, Todd. You seemed almost sad at the end of the video and you don't deserve it. Thanks so much for putting all this effort into what you do for us! You've done so well and I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd say this but I'm proud of you.
Please keep producing these videos. Your honesty and genuine concern is sincerely relished by myself and others, I'm sure. We need people like you running our society.
Thanks for being such an awesome youtuber! Giving the people what they want! Not to mention you're going in and replying to comments like crazy. You're awesome dude, thank you for doing what you do!
Totally agree! Project Farm rocks. I really enjoy the spirit of what he does, as well as his patience. Me personally, I'd lose my bananas if someone ever told me that learning was a "waste" of time!
Man 7 years later and we still come back to watch this. And you were doing this while people were telling you it was a waste of time and money??? What an absolute Chad! AND you still come back to respond to and thank your fans for watching these older videos! What other youtuber your size goes back to 5+ year old videos to respond to their fans???? Also on a side note, have you ever not been completely ripped? Quit making me feel bad for not working out! 😂
I’ve been watching for probably close to five years now maybe more and know your videos are not wasteful one bit it may seem like it is but you destroy one engine that keeps people from destroying their own you’re really saving engines if you think about it love this man keep it up
Watching your videos is better than watching TV or going to the movies, plus they are educational. Thanks for your hard work and detailed explanations.
It takes a lot more to enjoy oneself by doing something interesting, than it does to detract from somebody sharing something interesting that they enjoy. Thanks for these videos. I'm an engineering type but always gravitated to software because I don't really have the brain for hardware, and I find this channel fascinating because it's a great way to get an idea about how simple engines work by poking at them and testing them in various ways - just like we do with code we don't understand in software.
The hell with who ever commented that “it’s s a wast of resources “. I love these videos they are entertaining, fun, educational, and most of all helpful for those of us that are unable to test these theories. Thank you so much for the knowledge
After binging your videos for 2 weeks, I can say that you are not being wasteful. The things you are teaching and testing are great for people who do not know what to do, or how to fix something. Think about the people you help when they buy a lawnmower and it doesn't run. Watching your videos alone, they could probably rebuild the engine. Thanks for all that you do. We appreciate it!
NOT a waste of resources. You keep doing what you like. These videos bring enjoyment to you and your viewers. If a scant view don’t agree with something, they can start their own channel and try to do it better. This channel is by far my favorite channel on TH-cam. Great job as ALWAYS!!!!
I have to say a lot of things I always was curious about but wouldn't do to my own motors out of fear of sad days after you've done and its been hugely appreciated from folks like me, sincerely thank you for the lessons and the entertainment, I've spent most of my life working on cars its been my biggest joy /passion and I'm always learning something. Your videos help so thank you again.
I've never tried atf to clean the combustion chamber, but I've used it in the crankcase to clean some of the crud out of the oil passages and such. Works very well, in my opinion.
Whoever thinks learning and experimenting is a waste of resources probably hasn’t done much learning or experimenting in their life. Please continue with all these great videos, they really are educational and to mechanics extremely extremely important. - Knowledge is Power
Daily Cup of Justin, That's a huge compliment--thank you! I'm doing the best I can to create good quality videos on these additives and fluids. It's a lot of fun! Thanks for watching the video and commenting! Up next, Marvel Mystery Oil!
Fantastic job of calling out someone for bullying, while calling him multiple names!! I await your counter argument on why it is okay for you to spew your hate while it is not okay for him!! I do not agree with both of you calling names. I do expect a comeback from you that will make no sense. Waits for it.....
Well, I mean moreover there is a difference between hate speech which involves bias against a specific group, and calling someone a bully, buffoon, or childish. None of the latter target minorities or specific sets of people. Really I think he was rather tasteful, though of course it could be said without the insults, and it would probably have better results. Though, being it is TH-cam, the other person is most likely to react belligerently no matter what.
Still loving your videos brother, i'm really looking forward to seeing you blow up a few motors. You have such a easygoing manner and great editing. Glad to see your channel growing.
Matt, Always great to hear from you!! I'll continue working to improve the editing...I'm new at this! Thanks again for watching the videos and commenting!
I really love your videos. Great data, clean videos, good science, and best of all they are entertaining. I read through the comments on this one and didn't find anyone commenting on the fact that the Seafoam and water experiments both resulted in increased compression while the ATF resulted in significant compression loss.
I heard you say someone said this was a waste of resources and money. Not True! Thanks to you, I've purchased tools and supplies to restore damage to my motorhome and I have had nothing but success. I enjoy your videos very much and appreciate your methods, your value-based approach and your video presentations. Thank you and keep it up!!!!!!!
I feel it's important that you make videos like this instead of going to the movies. Nothing to be learned in a theatre anyway. Comparisons are needed to draw the right conclusion and these tests are necessary for those who want to know. Great work and very clear video!
goesfastandfar, Thanks for the encouragement! I have a lot of fun testing these products! I'm looking forward to testing a lot more products and will continue to improve the rigor I apply to the testing process! Thanks for watching the video and commenting!
I only discovered your channel recently, so am slowly getting through your back catalogue - as others have stated, PLEASE don't think this is a waste of 'resources', as I can tell you from all the way over here in Ireland, your videos are excellent and thoroughly appreciated! :)
I love your videos, it's awesome how far you've come in 3 years, anyone that says it's a waste of resources doesn't understand science and testing. Keep it up!
Your videos are never a waste. This kind of experimentation without bias is extremely educational. Thanks for all these videos. As long as you make them, I will watch them.
Hey man I love the videos! These are definitely not a poor use of resources, these videos are ways I learn about things I’ve never thought of, and along with the that you make videos in such deep detail while keeping it entertaining. I’m a huge nerd for engines and always want to find ways to keep my engines running forever and also learn if I can restore damage without taking apart the engine. You are one of the only channels i fully trust to not false advertise a bad product or bring a biased review, I simply want to learn by facts and that’s exactly what you do. I learn new stuff from every video you make, and I hope to continue learning with you as you make these videos! Keep up the great work!
Your videos are always informative, entertaining, and well-made. Thanks for taking the time to make and post them. You are satisfying the curiosity of more people than you could imagine, and inspiring many more. Thank you!
I really enjoy watching your videos and appreciate the time, effort, and dedication you have towards making them. I find these test you perform very educational, informative, and helpful. Keep up the good work and thanks again for your time, money spent, and effort that you put into them.
Bro, I'm hooked on these vids. Your doing it your way! It's a great way and I love it. As long as your enjoying what your doing and learning at the same time I dont see it as a waist of money! 🤟

I really appreciate your work it had help me understand, save money, even learned something new.. one thing I can say is that if you were a teacher in college , your classes will be crowded.. of many students wanted to learn thank u
I love watching these videos! Educational for sure and who else would take the time to do them so well? NO ONE. And the tools you created.... Amazing! Make a video describing you and how you've become a youtube star.
Try wiping down an old car with dull oxidation paint with transmission fluid! It takes the oxidation right off just by easily wiping it down! Take a swipe and look at your rag! It will leave the paint shiny!
I've been watching these for around an hour and I love them. I'd like to request results on high methanol content wiper fluid. It's just water, methanol, and a bit of blue. The methanol should help the decarbonizing as well as the combust ability of the mixture a bit... The methanol is only going to break away from the water when you ignite it.
I have worked on and built engines since I was 13 years of age when I built a mini bike with and old B&S lawn mower engine my dad was going to throw away. I had to rebuild the B&S engine on my own. That was my introduction to the world of internal combustion engines. I am now 69 years old and still working on engines (my 86 Harley Sportster, put a Buick V6 in a 75 Porsche 914, I build gas bikes, etc.). I really enjoy your videos. They are very informative. Keep up the great work you are doing and the incredible information you provide!
This TH-cam channel is the cornerstone of modern society, I bet lots of company come to this channel to see how their products compare with competitors’
Love the video, love the passion to really find out what works vs gimmicks. That being said, im a believer in seafoam, I would definitely never try what you did with water or atf, but your results were very interesting and I’m impressed you’re willing to put your equipment to the test to get to the answer.
i remember cadillac had a model that used water injection to increase horsepower. the tank was in the trunk. cadillac also had a model that would cut off fuel to half the engine for either stop/go traffic or open road. i don't remember which bank. comments/memories welcome!
I've loved these additive videos, especially the seafoam in the truck! The result spoke for itself. Keep it up! Project Farm is fast becoming one of my favourite TH-cam channels! I'd love to see you trial 100+ Octane fuel. I think you'd be pleasantly surprised by how the truck will respond.
Absolutely not a waste of money or time? You are providing a honest service for DIY people not many honest or DIY people left... I love your videos and appreciate them alot
I enjoy your videos!! ATF I use to free sticking injectors in Diesel engines old and new systems. They removed sulphor which is a lubricant, also the detergents Free sticking injectors. At 2200$ a for a diesel injector On some engines that’s a lot of atf. Lot easier adding some to the diesel than replacing injectors
Joel Dale Even running the engine on common hydrated ethanol would be interesting. My only concern is about the carburetor, because some older carburetors are not prepared to deal with ethanol and might suffer small corrosion if you keep running on ethanol everyday. If your engine got a compression ratio lower than 10:1 or 9.5:1, I suggest warm up running with gasoline before fuelling with just etanol. The ethanol or E100 usually sold on gas stations *contains around 4% of water*. If water can help to clean the engine, on the long run it might render some results. _______________ Ethanol is a very common fuel in Brazil. Usually you got between 72% and 83% of gasoline mileage (highly depending on the specs of the engine, like compression ratio and spark advance settings) and usually cost between 70% and 85% of the price of gasoline in Brazil (depending on the region). E85 is not exactly common around the world, but could be interesting too.
Wasted resources? You are flippin awesome!! I turn to your videos so I don’t waste resources when I set out to do a project….you save resources by eliminating the things that don’t work and showing us what works so we dont make a poor choice. You are a National treasure! 🇺🇸 Don’t listen to the negative. You are super positive!!
I've been using ATF on my Engines to flush them every oil change for the last 15 years. Keep in mind I use this on older cars that have build up and can or have potential sludge issues. I drain my oil. Fill up engine with 4 quartz of ATF and let engine run on idle for about 15 minutes. Drain ATF, install new oil filter and oil. ATF does a good job at cleaning the crankcase. This method was shared with me by a Technician at Nissan many years ago.
It will not hurt the bearings if you do not run it under load. He said he was idling the engine which would be fine. There are a lot of newer engines that are using motor oil not much higher viscosity than transmission fluid.
86ttop Gt yes but it still is oil. It just has a lot more detergents in it than motor oil. It doesn't hurt anything unless you run the engine under load if poured in the crankcase. It really won't hurt anything even at about 20% or so. It will make the oil dirty as hell pretty fast unless the engine is pretty clean already.
J Ray, Thank you very much for the encouragement! I need it! These videos take a lot of effort but they are worth it! I'm excited about testing Marvel Mystery Oil this weekend. I hope to release the video on Tuesday if video editing goes well. Thanks again!
They are your resources, do what you want. I have been told my time management is bad because I get sucked into a bunch of your videos... it's my time. Thanks for all you do
You aren't wasting resources or time. You are conducting scientific/real world testing to see if manufacturers are really producing good products or snake oil. And saving the rest of us a bunch of time and effort even if we knew how. Like you i get enjoyment and relaxation from watching your videos and knowing "stuff" My grandfather came from a farm in mid Ohio and he was a lot like you, trying different things all of the time and his workshop was a great place to be. Keep up the great work!
Rhett, Thank you very much for the encouragement! I'll be testing Marvel Mystery Oil this weekend and hope to publish the next video on Tuesday if editing goes smoothly. Thanks again!
I enjoy your video's And whomever said its a waste of money and resources apparently has never been in tight situations before. Now it is true that most additives should be used as a last resort in certain situations, but don't think it is ever a waste of money when your educating people. A fuel injector on some cars range up to over $100 dollars a piece and if sea-foam can clean them vs spending $100 dollars for one injector, I don't see that as a waste of money. Even testing products out on little engines is educational. So, I don't think your wasting your time on this video's.
Shoobox Gaming, Thank you for the encouragement! I agree with your perspective! These additives have saved me several times! Thanks again for watching the video and commenting!
I think it stems from many who insist all of these are garbage (see post above), all you need is oil changes. However, here's the funny thing, most of this stuff is already IN oil, half of them use the same detergents, the difference is the concentration. SO technically both parties are sort of right: change the oil properly and frequently and you likely won't have most of these issues. However, say you purchased a used car that has lots of sludge (I fall into this camp) because the previous owners didn't change as often as they should have, and that's where these types of things can really make a difference. Sure, oil changes will also do the same thing, just slower and over time. I just think it's funny when people call these chemicals snake-oil, most of them are in the same products they recommend just in a different form!
We are poor and work very hard. Money doesnt come easy. Every hard earned dollar must be put to good use. We appreciate the hard work and resources you put into testing. IMAGINE ALL THE MONEY WASTED ON FAILED PRODUCTS AND VEHICHLES AND EQUIPMENT FROM JUNK PRODUCTS. You are doing the world great justice! Think about it!
you're videos are not a waste of resources or time... they help us consumers understand what to purchase when we question if it's really worth it... again thank you 🙏🏽
Iv used atf with water. I shake it up in a used fuel additive bottle and let it sit for a few days until it's pink. Iv done it twice and i haven't had any issues. Only a smoother engine.
I have always heard add a quart of ATF if you have noisy lifters. Way back in the day when I was a kid in a small town there weren't any name brand part stores , so you just went and bought ATF as a 1st line of defence of a noisy motor. If it was just carbon buildup it normally worked quickly by memory. Now I have been dishing out for seafoam for a couple years but I'm thinking going back to ATF is cheaper...?
+Alien Dragon - I've recently clean the Engine Head of 2 Old Cars, Rods, Litfers etc..., 20+ Years with ATF Fluids. Now both Cars are running really smooth, like brand new again. Both Cars have 250,000+ Miles on them and we are the Original Owner. I was skeptical at first, but I was like... What else I have to lose right? Boy, I was soooo wrong... It took so much Gums and Gunk off, I was able to get the Internal Engine to Bare Metal Shine. I do have a Video on it if you are curious of what I did. :D

My only question is, what happened to SEAFOAM. I'm only 29 about to me 30 in a few days but I remember seafoam only being like 4 or 5 dollars a can when I started driving now it has skyrocketed. anywhere from 9 to 12 dollars a can.
Popularity. Seafoam is a trusted name, and it does work, but now people think it'll work miracles and since it's a trusted name, it's one of the most promoted products out there as well. I'm only slightly older and yeah, used to be way cheaper and was also rarely advertised, now it's front-page on many auto shop adverts. I also think the fact that it does smoke out an engine while it burns it also plays into the mindset that it's doing a ton internally, even if it's actually a rather gentle amount of cleaning and most of the smoke is just the product itself burning off.
when you blow a head gasket on a car the chamber cleans very good so I wonder if putting anti freeze would work while it's running to clean it just wondering
Devon Johns, Yes, you are right! I plan to test a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and water in an upcoming episode! Thanks for watching the video and commenting!
It's not wasteful if you are getting useful information from these tests. I work in an auto parts store and your videos have helped me be a better salesman when a customer asks about certain products. I have even shown them your videos so they can see how the product works. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
Don't listen to those haters! You are testing theories I have always thought about, but have not tried myself, and you have tested theories that I never thought about. Product reviews and comparisons are never bad. You are helping your audience with valuable information. I enjoy your videos and I appreciate you!
@@5002strokeforever I don't know what kind of oven cleaner you use but I've used regular Easy Off oven cleaner for years on my cheap thin aluminum toaster oven and it takes off baked on grease and crud like nothing and the aluminum hasn't changed or gotten eaten away whatsoever and looks great.
@@Roc790I dont mean burn a hole in it in a few minutes. It definitely eats aluminum, but is probably ok for short periods, right on the can it says not for aluminum
Great videos! However, does it really make for any difference in engine performance whether the combustion is "clean" or has deposits? I'd also like to see the cleaning effects of running under very heavy load; like WOT at moderately high RPM. Maybe something to try if you can devise some sort of engine brake.
So what about purple power degreaser? Or maybe engine parts washer fluid? I dont know how harmful the exhaust would be but I am curious to see what it would do to clean carbon
Dont use purple power degreaser on smal engines lol well not aluminum for sure! I made the mistake of soaking small engine parts in purple power and well i ended up with no parts the next day! It literally disolved the aluminum into a white powder! But the experiments project farm does for us are always cool to see!
Definately not a poor use of resources. I'm a student at a trade school and I've learned alot from these videos. I love these tests, you're very professional, straight to the point, very enjoyable to watch and at first I thought you were an engineer or something based on all your knowledge of how to conduct these tests and just how much you know about engines and how they work. Very great videos and I really hope you enjoy making them and I do very much enjoy watching them and learning from your videos. You deserve more subscribers and more recognition on TH-cam. If you have a Patreon or anything like that I'd be more than happy to donate and contribute to the videos.
My 2 pennorth on SeaFoam.. tried it in my well maintained low mileage SKODA 1.8 turbo. Injected 1/2 a can through the breather system into the inlet manifold, ( it’s a direct injection engine😠). On tickover,--not a lot happened🙄. 6 months later for no other reason than to use it up, I did it again, the improvement was quite striking. No numbers to back it up but a worthwhile improvement at little cost and a big surprise. Keep up the good work 👍🏴🇺🇸🏴
Having watched all 6 episodes of SeaFoam, I'm left with essentially one question. I'm assuming the old Ford Ranger did not have an EVAP system consistent with newer vehicles. I would love to see results on a newer vehicle (one with a modern emission system) if at all possible. Your videos have proven almost conclusively that SeaFoam is great at cleaning up engines. I'm just curious if there are any ill effects on more modern systems.
I have owned workshops all my life, and advised customers of my opinion on additives, service intervals, etc. Your videos have reinforced much of what I have always believed, and I have been proven wrong several times by your experiments. No, these tests are absolutely not a waste of time and resources. Thank you for keeping the faith.
Whoever is criticizing you probably has engines that fail all the time. Your videos are very educational. It has saved me time and money and what exactly to buy so the engine and trans of my car or even my semi truck can run more efficiently. Keep up the great work.
Dunno how many subscribers you had 7yr ago, but I bet now it's helluva lot more. Easily one of the best consumer educational channels. So, thank, you. Hat's off.
Don't stop this man, i'm an engineer and learning a lot from this. It is nice see someone really testing this products in real world situations. Nice vid.
Whenever I want to find out which is a better "x" I go to your channel first. Ignore the haters. The cost is education is priceless. Thank you for all your time and work.
Who in the hell thinks any of your videos are a waste of resources? They obviously don't know that thousands of people may have an idea they want to try and they say "hey let me see if ProjectFarm has tried it and let me see his results first before I just do it." Keep doing what you're doing man!
My Father was a mechanic trained in the Canadian army during WW2. One of the things that he recommended was adding about half a quart of ATF to the crankcase a couple days before you planned an oil change. I don't remember it ever causing any problems and any time we opened an engine they were quite clean. Great videos! Too bad negative people have to leave mean comments, instead of just moving on to the next video that they don't like?
Please don't listen to the negative people out there. They are the ones sitting on their butt's doing nothing but complaining about things they can't do themselves. You are helping us out immensely by these test. I would like to hear what your personal opinion is regarding all the products you have tried. The real ones of us out there working on our own machines will not judge you for your opinion and would be very interested to hear what you have to say. Keep up the good work and thank you for your time
Ahhhh, this is how you made the transition from a farm oriented channel to a product and process evaluation channel. Seems like a logical transition as I come back and binge watch your early vids. Apparently it's a real winner, as you now have 1.68M subs as of spring of '21.
Sir I felt bad that some people are giving you grief. That you had to justify yourself. I know several people including myself enjoy and are learning alot. Thank you so much.
Dude your videos teach quite a lot. I have read so much research related to products, but your video gives a good visual representation on them, plus its more of a practical approach. Keep up the good work.
Our instructors in auto school would pour a bottle of transmission oil into the crankcase before every oil change but never seen a drip into the combustion chamber before. Thanks for the great video
It's not a poor use of resources. You're answering questions, which in their pursuit, may waste some products above and beyond normal use, but the end results may be that many more DIY'ers out there SAVE their money and their equipment. Keep up the great work!
Sir, these are excellent videos and by no means are they a waste of resources, these projects you're doing are helping me personally to know what helps and what does not when it come to engine oil additives or fuel additives, I'm a car enthusiast and I'm grateful to you and to your channel. Greetings from Phoenix Arizona.
Don't listen to negativity. I love watching your videos, the ARE educational. Some people just have psychological problems that even seafoam cant help. I wish I was as talented as you are, maybe the complainers are jealous of your ideas and how you created a platform to broadcast your gift in a positive way. Haters be like "i wish I thought of that" and want to criticize because they're evil....it takes a special person to do what you do and I just want to say thank you for all you do brother!! I thank God for people like YOU!!

Agree! I find the video quite interesting and educative...
Thanks so much!
Yes he is super genuine. He still monitors and responds to comments and it means slot to all of us! 😇
Thank you very much!
@@ProjectFarm it's not a wast at all I really like to see what's next and love the experiments let's see what this will do etc. I have always tryed things like you do. I used to put ATF in the diesel tank bio fuel with 2 stroke oil and loads moor over the years. You really are great if you went you would be missed big time 👍👍
@@ProjectFarm could you please advise if one litre of Dextron 6 Transmission fluid be used along with 4.5 litre of 5w30 in GMC YUKON 2013 for a full cycle of 3000 miles

@@ProjectFarm Good advise that was.
I agree.
This popped in my recommended by you tube.
I watched it and found it interesting. You clearly have a following for what you do and a loyal subscriber group 2.16 million followers when I watched this. You are clearly doing something that a lot of people like. That is seriously impressive numbers. Doff my cap 🎩 to you sir
I have watched more of your videos and I really like them.
I really like how clean your videos are
French Canadian, It's always great to hear from you! I spend quite a bit of time editing to keep them as clean and efficient as possible. There is always room to improve. Feedback on ways to improve is always helpful. Thanks again for watching the video and commenting!
French Canadian Bastard I have to agree completely!
No bullshit here ,just fact ,like ! From Sweden.

This is a terrific post! Thanks for sharing your experience with ATF in the 3.8L.
Is there a retrofit for the mofulator or upgrade to prevent the engine from ingesting ATF?
Great point! Breaking up the gunk, and emulsifying it in the oil is great (think dishwasher cycle), but getting that suspended stuff out of harms way soon is very important (think sand in your shorts!).
I prefer to never apply the "set it and forget it" crankcase cleaner additives, and do a compulsory oil change after a few dozen miles (
You are so thorough and practical I can’t take it. Don’t listen to the haters, bro. You’re answering the questions everyone’s been asking for ages. To strive, to seek, to find, and NEVER to yield!
Thanks for sharing.
What haters, besides the random a-hole? It looks like everyone loves this guy, and for good reason!

I want to know if this will lubricate the injectors on my 7.3 diesel.
DT Hellland If you clean your engine you'll notice a big improvement. I guarantee you'd change your mind.
Oval track racers say carbon is free compression.

Also on a side note, have you ever not been completely ripped? Quit making me feel bad for not working out! 😂
Thanks! I can always improve!
I’ve been watching for probably close to five years now maybe more and know your videos are not wasteful one bit it may seem like it is but you destroy one engine that keeps people from destroying their own you’re really saving engines if you think about it love this man keep it up
It was not a waste of time in my opinion. It was interesting and informative. Keep doing what you do!
Thanks, will do!
Thank you very much!
Thank you very much!
NOT a waste of resources. You keep doing what you like. These videos bring enjoyment to you and your viewers. If a scant view don’t agree with something, they can start their own channel and try to do it better. This channel is by far my favorite channel on TH-cam. Great job as ALWAYS!!!!

I've never tried atf to clean the combustion chamber, but I've used it in the crankcase to clean some of the crud out of the oil passages and such. Works very well, in my opinion.

Daily Cup of Justin, That's a huge compliment--thank you! I'm doing the best I can to create good quality videos on these additives and fluids. It's a lot of fun! Thanks for watching the video and commenting! Up next, Marvel Mystery Oil!
Project Farm I honestly think it really helps as an educational device. especially for some of us who don't know all the old tricks in the books
Other than BoostedBoiz... seriously though.
Thanks so much!
I heard you say someone said this was a waste of resources and money. Not True! Thanks to you, I've purchased tools and supplies to restore damage to my motorhome and I have had nothing but success. I only discovered your channel recently, so am slowly getting through your back catalogue - as others have stated, PLEASE don't think this is a waste of 'resources', as I can tell you from all the way over here in Ireland, your videos are excellent and thoroughly appreciated! :)
Thank you very much!
I love your videos, it's awesome how far you've come in 3 years, anyone that says it's a waste of resources doesn't understand science and testing. Keep it up!
Thanks, will do.
Your videos are never a waste. This kind of experimentation without bias is extremely educational. Thanks for all these videos. As long as you make them, I will watch them.
Thank you very much for the positive comment!
Thanks, will do!

ATF I use to free sticking injectors in Diesel engines old and new systems.
They removed sulphor which is a lubricant, also the detergents
Free sticking injectors.
At 2200$ a for a diesel injector
On some engines that’s a lot of atf. Lot easier adding some to the diesel than replacing injectors
Thanks! Thanks for sharing.
I use ATF periodically in my 88 Ford F250 7.3 diesel pickup. It does a decent job cleaning the injectors.
Thanks for the feedback.
If you are enjoying it and looking after some educational information... I doubt it's a waste of resources. ;D
Interesting results with ATF fluid.
Ti M, I agree! My oldest son is benefiting from these experiments as well! Thanks for watching the video and commenting!
Ti M I like your nichijou pic.
Project Farm you should do a comparison between regular 10% ethanol fuel 87 octane. vs 91 or highest octane fuel available in your area
_______________
Ethanol is a very common fuel in Brazil.
Ti M I'm not a huge fan of ethanol I run premium fuel in my truck and other stuff
Humble and genuine people are rare, stay like that and thanks for the videos.
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!

This seems like a great strategy to keep an engine clean. Thanks for commenting!
Z31Rider
better watch it Ull wash the bearings out
It will not hurt the bearings if you do not run it under load. He said he was idling the engine which would be fine. There are a lot of newer engines that are using motor oil not much higher viscosity than transmission fluid.
Jeremy Mardlin yea but oil is oil and transmission fluid is a detergent
86ttop Gt yes but it still is oil. It just has a lot more detergents in it than motor oil. It doesn't hurt anything unless you run the engine under load if poured in the crankcase. It really won't hurt anything even at about 20% or so. It will make the oil dirty as hell pretty fast unless the engine is pretty clean already.
you're awesome and very consistent bro, thx

I enjoy your video's
And whomever said its a waste of money and resources apparently has never been in tight situations before.
At this point may as well try engine oil since it's going to go into the engine anyway lol Great video, I love this series
Preponto, LOL! Up next, Marvel Mystery Oil! Thanks for watching the video and commenting!
Please don’t stop what you do! We all appreciate you more than you know!!!!
THANK YOU!!!
Thanks so much!
you're videos are not a waste of resources or time... they help us consumers understand what to purchase when we question if it's really worth it... again thank you 🙏🏽
I appreciate that!
Iv used atf with water. I shake it up in a used fuel additive bottle and let it sit for a few days until it's pink. Iv done it twice and i haven't had any issues. Only a smoother engine.
Carl, thank you for this recommendation!
Carl Br tap water or distilled?
My Off-Road Obsession drinking water. Sorry for the late reply
i would like to see that video
+Markus Ulrich - Here are 2 Video of what I did afterward / during ATF Fluids... th-cam.com/video/Luqmx0VlN1w/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/OgqotSDSptw/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for watching the video and commenting!
thanks for replying and I think it will work very good but it will do same thing as the water to the oil so it would have to be changed
Devon Johns great idea! I can't wait for this one
Its the water thats burning off in the coolant that cleans so well... It turns into steam and steam cleans the inside of your engine..
So blowing head gaskets is good for my 6.0?
It's not wasteful if you are getting useful information from these tests. I work in an auto parts store and your videos have helped me be a better salesman when a customer asks about certain products. I have even shown them your videos so they can see how the product works. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
Thank you!
Don't listen to those haters! You are testing theories I have always thought about, but have not tried myself, and you have tested theories that I never thought about. Product reviews and comparisons are never bad. You are helping your audience with valuable information. I enjoy your videos and I appreciate you!

Spray easy off oven cleaner on the head and piston
That is an awesome idea!
Easy Off Oven Cleaner is made from a mixture of ATF and water.
Most oven cleaner is very caustic and will eat aluminum
Yes it does. You should see smoother and better performance
So what about purple power degreaser? Or maybe engine parts washer fluid? I dont know how harmful the exhaust would be but I am curious to see what it would do to clean carbon
Those are great suggestions! Thanks for watching the video and commenting!
Old_Ford_Trucks-FF#147 part washer fluid/solvent will eat away anything rubber or gaskets
and degreaser would strip the oil off and maybe cause seize
Thank you very much! I have a Patreon but please don't contribute if finances are tight. www.patreon.com/projectfarm
Thanks for the video idea.
Education is not a waste of money. Add to that the fact that you enjoy it makes it totally worth it. I'm glad you've continued!
Thank you!
You are welcome!
Whoever is criticizing you probably has engines that fail all the time. Your videos are very educational. It has saved me time and money and what exactly to buy so the engine and trans of my car or even my semi truck can run more efficiently. Keep up the great work.
Btw, your critics are probably from the products that failed your tests.
Thank you!
Don't let the skeptics get you down brother. You're doing a great thing by teaching through hands on. I'm learning and it ain't costing me a thing.
Thank you!
Dunno how many subscribers you had 7yr ago, but I bet now it's helluva lot more. Easily one of the best consumer educational channels. So, thank, you. Hat's off.
Thanks!
Don't stop this man, i'm an engineer and learning a lot from this. It is nice see someone really testing this products in real world situations. Nice vid.
Thank you very much!
Cool story bro
Whenever I want to find out which is a better "x" I go to your channel first. Ignore the haters. The cost is education is priceless. Thank you for all your time and work.
Thanks and you are welcome!
Thank you
Please don't listen to the negative people out there. Keep up the good work and thank you for your time
Thank you!
I’m not sure if you still monitor these comments, but I am very happy and I feel very grateful that you started and continued to do these videos
Thanks so much!
Ahhhh, this is how you made the transition from a farm oriented channel to a product and process evaluation channel. Seems like a logical transition as I come back and binge watch your early vids. Apparently it's a real winner, as you now have 1.68M subs as of spring of '21.
Thanks for watching!
Sir I felt bad that some people are giving you grief. That you had to justify yourself. I know several people including myself enjoy and are learning alot. Thank you so much.
Thank you very much!
Dude your videos teach quite a lot. I have read so much research related to products, but your video gives a good visual representation on them, plus its more of a practical approach. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, will do!
Our instructors in auto school would pour a bottle of transmission oil into the crankcase before every oil change but never seen a drip into the combustion chamber before. Thanks for the great video
Thank you
It's not a poor use of resources. You're answering questions, which in their pursuit, may waste some products above and beyond normal use, but the end results may be that many more DIY'ers out there SAVE their money and their equipment. Keep up the great work!
Thank you!
Your videos are NOT worthless! They are very interessting and i learn a lot.
Greetings from Germany.
Thanks so much!
Greetings! Thank you very much for the positive comments.
Very kind of you, thank you!
