Nice review, glad you liked the set. There are some variations on the mod for different listeners. Dual damper is great if you listen at medium/higher volume like Vortex does. At lower volume levels, probably too dampened. Removing the stock Olina damper and replacing it with one Tanya damper will get you closer to Oxygen stock sound. I use one Tanya on the nozzle and a bit of micropore covering the vent which is closer to an Oxygen with a slight bass boost. If you have a warmer source, stock might be a great choice. Anyway, a few things to try for dialing in Olina for your ears and library.
Great review 👍🥓☕️ So far this year in IEM’s it’s been pretty good. Crin’s Midnight’s, HBB’s Olina’s and my S12 are on the way 🥳 Did the double filter (mod) ..it smoothed out the SHOUTY quality at higher volumes 🔥 Cheers 🍻
@@larrydunn4626 Sorry, my bad 😞 I found that adding the double filter removed some of the SHOUTY quality…but that only really came across at higher volumes..apart from that my 60 year old ears like what they heard 🍻🥓
@@carminedesanto6746 60 yr. old ears just mean your brain can focus more on the lower and mid treble... bad stuff above 10k your ancient ears won't notice anyway LOL

Nice review indeed mate. I got one set here but I believe the Oxygen are tuned better with a more natural timbre. The Olina sound kind of broken in comparison. The first person to use double filter mod was me back in the day to smooth out the O2 peak at 5/6k.. It was overkill back then and still is it kills dynamics because driver can’t breathe properly. Look I don’t understand why everyone have to make this set sound perfect ! It doesn’t beat the O2 in any way. Regards
Yeah, there are a few who agree that the double filter on the Olina kills dynamics... and moved on to put the Tanchjim Tanya filter in place of the Olina stock filter. A middle ground if you will.
just receive my olina....many say it lacks bass and treble peaks...but this olina has more bass than my. kz ast which has a big bass and my tin hifi. t3+ ....do you think. this olina has been tuned differently than the first issues?
Does anybody know where to buy filters? I've went through my spares due to having oily ears and I've searched the net high and low in the UK and cannot find them anywhere
I have tripowin leà. It's the most roughly finished most harsh sounding and most uncomfortable fit iem in my collection. This essentially restricted me from buying tripowin products further.

Cheers Paul and I listen at different volumes. It's a shame I never got the Tanya just for the filters and thanks for the advice :D
It's funny the extra things people will do to make an iem they have bias for sound good while other iems don't get half the effort put in to them.
@@mrcrunch8000 I understand that but I tried it as it was proven.
@@mrcrunch8000 the dual damper mod is free and not needed if you a low volume listener

Thanks and nice to hear you did the double filter as well. I am unsure what they will be like in the long term. I never tried the Midnight,
@@VortexReviews1 I think he was asking the question about whether the double filter removed the shoutiness.

I was skeptical about adding the Tanya filter but I think it fixes the borderline shoutiness of the Olina. Sounds better than the double filter mod.
That seems to be the way but I don't have any Tanya filters unfortunately.
Cool that you compared the rsv. I looked at the graph and they match very closely. it's pretty much end game sound with the mod
Thanks and the Olina SE looks the way to go over this model.
@@VortexReviews1 if you already modded it maybe not. I have both and they sound pretty much identical

Thanks 👍
my favourite thumbnail so far. 🌌
Thanks!
how does this compare to the s12 because i just bought the S12 after watching you review it
S12 is different as it's Planar like that it has better micro details and EQs like a champ. Both are not treble shy.
S12 Olina and Er2xr and you have the best midfi can offer.
S12 is better and way more versatile since it EQs so easily
@@jasonbhatnagar7134 Indeed but it's different tech and costs 50USD more and is harder to power.
Yeah, V2 of these should have a more ergonomic shape and higher quality screens.
I agree with that.
Great review!
Thanks Richard!
starfield or olina?
Not tried the Starfield.
With the the Tanya Filter on the Olina the Starfield has a softer treble. But they’re both neck and neck.

Have you asked Linsoul?
Is it better than letshuoer d13? Cheers.
The tuning is a bit different and the D13 didn't need the double damper to smoothen the sound which looks fixed in the Olina SE model.
Wonder how these compare to the shuoer s12?
would you rank the s12 better than the olina?
Nope. They are different and not better than each other.
Better than Kato?
Not tried the Kato.
Batter than Titan s, Aria, t3 plus?
In my opinion yes but the T3 Plus is a better fit.
